Abstract

A peaceful, safe, and comfortable living environment is a dream for people who want to settle in an area. Interactive socialization between residents based on equality and high social morals is a condition for achieving harmony and happiness. However, the insecurity that comes from theft, loss, and other activities felt by the community has led to unrest. This activity is the basis for joint activities with the Village Community in Selayang, Deli Serdang Regency, to carry out village security through the Selayang Village Cooperation with the Medan State Polytechnic Service Team through the means of village monitoring technology (PANDES) by utilizing CCTV. The existence of location monitoring technology that can detect moving objects in the village monitoring area is used to access the community that inhabits the former oil palm plantation area. PANDES is essential because the distance between residents' houses is relatively far, between 6-10 m; many vacant lots are overgrown with large trees and dense bushes. This condition makes crime opportunities quickly arise by utilizing the conditions of the community's residence. The existing problems are solved through community service activities by presenting PANDES through the provision of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitors. CCTV is designed to detect moving objects within a radius of 20 meters.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait penggunaan dan perkembangan teknologi khususnya tentang pembuatan monitoring pembelajaran agar lebih efektif dan efisien. Rumah Tahfidz merupakan lembaga pendidikan yang berkonsentrasi pada pengajaran dan penghafalan Al-Qur’an . Beberapa kesulitan yang dialami oleh rumah tahfidz adalah berkaitan dengan sistem monitoring dan pemantauan perkembangan peserta didik. Sistem yang masih digunakan secra manual seringkali tidak efektif dan rentan terhadap kesalahan khususnya dalam pencatatan. Selain itu, pengelola rumah tahfidz uga menghadapi masalah dalam menyampaikan laporan kemajuan hafalan santri kepada orang tua secara akurat dan tepat waktu. Penggunaan Lookerstudio memudahkan pengelola rumah tahfidz dalam melakukan monitoring baik berupa pencatatan kehadiran, perkembangan hafalan peserta didik dan dapat diakses oelh orang tua siswa. Setiap peserta didik maupun pengajar dapat melihat monitoring secara cepat dan mudah, dimana data yang telah dikumpulkan nantinya akan diolah secara otomatis. Hasil akhir dari kegiatan ini adalah melakukan evaluasi untuk melihat apakah dalam penyampaian materi mudah dipahami oleh peserta. Keywords: Rumah Tahfidz, Sistem Monitoring, Lookerstuido

Abstract

The primary needs of farmers include fertilizers, both organic and chemical fertilizers; the gap between availability and needs and fertilizer subsidies have not been able to increase agricultural production. Fertilizer problems also occur in Karo Regency in general. PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is asked to take firm action against distributors and official kiosks in Karo Regency that are proven to have committed violations or irregularities related to the distribution of subsidized fertilizers. These violations include selling above the highest retail price (HET), selling to farmers outside the electronic definitive group needs plan (e-RDKK), and selling in packages. Fertilizer availability also remains a significant problem for their farmer groups. Farmers in Nangbelawan Village sometimes innovate by making organic fertilizers from crop residues or household food consumption to overcome the scarcity of chemical fertilizers. However, the quality of this organic fertilizer cannot guarantee the quality of the crops grown by farmers. Based on the results of discussions and interviews, it was finally obtained that the Nangbelawan Village farmer group needed training on making quality organic fertilizer or compost. There is also the need for tools that can help make compost or organic fertilizer. Currently, many composter tools are sold freely, but due to limited knowledge and funds, the Nangbelawan Village Farmers Group has not been touched by this composter tool. The results of the service activities show that the Smart Composter utilizing Debok banana (banana stem) waste, cow dung, water hyacinth, and rice straw has been successfully designed. It is expected to produce compost fertilizer effectively, and this composter is very suitable for use in Nangbelawan village, where the location of the area is an agricultural and livestock area. Hence, it is rich in raw materials.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada rumah makan Dapoer Djoeragan Kelurahan Kots Matsum, Medan, Sumatera Utara. Bentuk kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah memberikan materi dan media pemasaran berbasis Digital dan serta pemberian pelatihan menyusun keuangan usaha kecil. Hal ini dikarenakan mitra belum menggunakan media digital sebagai media pemasaran dan hanya mengandalkan penjualan dari masyarakat sekitar dan orang yang lewat dijalan depan rumah makan. Selain itu, belum adanya perhitungan kas masuk dan keluar dan laporan keuangan secara berkala, menjadikan mitra kesulitan untuk menentukan laba bersih yang diperoleh dan pengembangan usaha di masa depan. Adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan penjualan dan pengetahuan mitra mengenai pentingnya pembukuan keuangan sederhana dan pengetahuan pemasaran melalui media sosial. Selain itu, keinginan mitra untuk menambah penghasilan dengan mengeluarkan produk sambal kemasan botol diapresiasi tim pengabdian dengan memberikan kemasan, logo dan label produk. Abstract

The Community Partnership Service Program (PKM) is implemented at MIS Putri Babussalam with the general aim of overcoming partner problems. Meanwhile, the specific objective of this PKM program is to provide multimedia-based contextual teaching and learning (CTL) method training for MIS Putri Babussalam teachers. There were 9 teachers who participated in the training, and all of them were Bachelor's Degree graduates from various disciplines, but they are still weak in carrying out active CTL learning. The PKM TEAM also provided assistance with an LCD projector and projector screen, as well as training on their use and utilization for the learning process. The method used in this PKM program is in the form of collecting data about potential partners through surveys and interviews with madrasah principals. Then, from the data, a community service program is made, and implementation and program evaluation are carried out. The activity was carried out for 3 months. Starting from the preparation stage in the form of surveys and interviews with partners, then the implementation of multimedia-based contextual teaching and learning (CTL) training for teachers and the use of LCD projectors to support CTL learning. When the evaluation was carried out, it was found that the teachers were active in compiling CTL learning plans, namely making PowerPoint programs and putting videos and photos related to the material through hyperlinks. Then the teachers had carried out active CTL learning using multimedia in turns because the existing LCD projectors were still available. limited. Thus, these results indicate the achievement of PKM objectives as expected.

Abstract

Mendeley is software that can manage various types of references in writing. The Elsevier company developed this application, which was first launched in August 2008. Mendeley is a reference management software that students need to learn. For every student working on the Final project, it is not only the content of the research that must be considered but also the writing technique. A good final report always includes valid reference evidence. Writing in scientific papers such as the Final Project must follow applicable regulations. In writing the Final Project of Medan State Polytechnic students, especially the Accounting Department, there are still some mistakes in making a bibliography or not citing the source references used in the scientific work. This is due to the lack of student understanding of applications that can be used to facilitate the making of the Final project. Understanding how to write the final report and cite reference sources. To help students facilitate the writing of the final project, it is necessary to have a basic understanding of the applications that can be used. With the Mendeley reference application, which can be used for free, it is hoped that students can apply it to the final project. The result of this service activity is an increase in knowledge, understanding, and proficiency of final-year students of the Accounting Study Program in using Mendeley reference manager for writing their final report. Students find Published or Perish helpful in obtaining metadata and references for their final report.

Abstract

Tilawah and Tahfizh Al-Qur'an Program. This educational program aims to improve the ability to read the Qur'an with tartil and according to the rules of tajweed, strengthen the memorization of the Qur'an, and instill a love for the Qur'an and practice its contents. This program aims to improve proficiency and fluency in reading the Qur'an through Mohsin (lettering and tajweed) and catfish (memorization) approaches. The collaboration between Politeknik Negeri Medan (Polmed) and Politeknik Nilai Negeri Sembilan (PNNS) integrates a comprehensive curriculum, interactive teaching, and close supervision to ensure each participant can achieve the desired level of proficiency. The program not only focuses on academic aspects but also on spiritual development and Islamic values.

Abstract

This training activity was carried out to improve student competence in completing the Final Report, especially in managing references and citing scientific papers using the Mendeley Reference Manager application. The Elsevier company developed this application, first launched in August 2008. Mendeley is a reference management software that students need to learn. A good final report must include valid reference evidence per applicable regulations. Currently, what happens in writing the Final Report of Medan State Polytechnic students, especially the Accounting Department, is that there are still several mistakes in making the bibliography or not citing the reference sources used in the scientific work; this is due to the lack of student understanding of applications that can be used to facilitate the preparation of the Final Report. Understanding how to write the final report and citing the reference source is very important to help students facilitate the writing of the final report, so it is introduced and trained to students regarding applications that can be used. With the Mendeley reference application that can be used for free, it is hoped that students can apply it in making final reports. The result of this Service Activity is an increase in knowledge, understanding, and proficiency of final-year students of the Accounting Finance and Banking Study Program using Mendeley Reference Manager to write their final report.

Abstract

In their profession as teachers, teachers do not just teach in class or provide extracurricular activities outside the classroom. More than that, teachers are also expected to be able to produce written work or research to support their professionalism actively. The number of teachers at Masehi Berastagi Private High School has 64 teachers with bachelor's level education and a total of 568 students. Based on information, teachers' lack of interest in conducting classroom action research or scientific work is due to the reasonably heavy teaching workload, a lack of motivation to carry out research, and a lack of knowledge to process research data using computers, especially using MS Excel and SPSS software. To overcome the problems faced by the teachers mentioned above, we provide training on how to create scientific work and how to process research data using Microsoft Excel and SPSS software. With direct practical training materials and methods in the computer laboratory, teachers who take part in the training can gain knowledge and skills that will be used to process research data so that it can motivate teachers to carry out research to create scientific work, which in turn will improve the quality of education. and teacher welfare. Implementation of service activities on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with 24 teachers participating. The average pretest score was 71.46, with a standard deviation of 4.54, and the average post-test score was 84.17, with a standard deviation of 4.34. This shows that there was an increase in knowledge after implementing this training activity. Namely, the average increased by 12 .71 value; in terms of standard deviation, it has also decreased so that it can be said that the differences in participants' knowledge are more evenly distributed so that increasing knowledge can motivate for teachers to carry out research to create scientific work which in turn will improve the quality of education and teacher welfare.

Abstract

Village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) are a government effort to empower rural communities. BUMDes was formed to become a driving force for the village economy and a source of village income. BUMDes that are managed professionally will support the realization of predetermined goals and objectives, including financial management. Problems arise due to the limited human resources of BUMDes managers. Problems arise due to the limited human resources of BUMDes managers. Socialization and training are essential so BUMDes Kekelengen Sugihen village can develop well. The strengths of BUMDes Kekelengen are that it has very fertile agricultural land, the village population is 241 heads of families, it has full support from the government, from the village to the central government, it has sufficient water sources for village needs, the economy of the Karo district and National is quite good, and the distance is quite close to the cities of Berastagi and Medan. Meanwhile, the Weaknesses are that human resources (management) lack motivation and focus and are still limited; management and admin staff are still less competent in several fields, specially making financial reports, and Office equipment is still available in the village office. If we look at opportunities, many business opportunities can still be explored, such as savings and loan cooperatives, agricultural equipment shops, and basic needs shops. Exploring the potential of villages to become agrotourism villages, as threats (Threats) are village entrepreneurs who are already active or going first, entry of entrepreneurs from outside the village, and rapid development. BUMDes financial reports should be the same as other institutions; they must be presented and managed professionally, transparently, accountable, systematically, and completely, but BUMDes Kekelengen Sugihen Village only records cash in and cash out using a manual process. Complete and systematic financial reports will be attractive to stakeholders. This service produces output in the form of an EFA (Excel For Accounting) template and the delivery of a computer that has been installed with Accurate, which can be used for bookkeeping and financial reporting for BUMDes Kekelengen, Sugihen village
