Abstract

Tilawah and Tahfizh Al-Qur'an Program. This educational program aims to improve the ability to read the Qur'an with tartil and according to the rules of tajweed, strengthen the memorization of the Qur'an, and instill a love for the Qur'an and practice its contents. This program aims to improve proficiency and fluency in reading the Qur'an through Mohsin (lettering and tajweed) and catfish (memorization) approaches. The collaboration between Politeknik Negeri Medan (Polmed) and Politeknik Nilai Negeri Sembilan (PNNS) integrates a comprehensive curriculum, interactive teaching, and close supervision to ensure each participant can achieve the desired level of proficiency. The program not only focuses on academic aspects but also on spiritual development and Islamic values.

Abstract

Desa Beras Sekata di Kecamatan Sunggal, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, adalah daerahpenghasil jagung. Jagung merupakan tanaman yang mudah dirawat dan memiliki waktupanen cepat, sekitar 3 bulan. Namun, proses pemipilan jagung di desa ini masihdilakukan secara manual, menghabiskan waktu dan biaya, terutama karena banyakpetani yang menggunakan alat sewa. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, tim PKM menerapkanteknologi dengan merancang dan membuat mesin pemipil jagung mekanis untukdiberikan kepada petani di desa Beras Sekata. Mesin ini dirancang dengan daya 5,5 HPdan kapasitas produksi 1200 kg/jam. Diharapkan, mesin pemipil ini dapat mengurangibiaya produksi, menggantikan biaya sewa alat, serta meningkatkan efisiensi pemipilan.Selain itu, tim PKM juga memberikan pelatihan penggunaan mesin dan manajemenusaha kepada petani, termasuk strategi pemasaran jagung untuk meningkatkan hasilpenjualan.

Abstract

Politeknik Negeri Medan (Polmed) has various business units that support academic and non-academic activities. However, performance management and business governance of these units face various challenges, especially due to the use of manual and non-integrated systems. The main problems faced include inaccurate data, information delays, difficulties in monitoring and evaluation, and inefficient document management. This research aims to develop an integrated Performance and Business Governance Information System to collect data, manage and present business reports in the Polmed business unit. This system is expected to increase the accuracy and speed of data processing, facilitate access and presentation of information for management, and increase efficiency in monitoring and evaluating business unit performance. Apart from that, this system is also expected to optimize the management of business documents and reports. Through a research and development (R&D) approach, this system was designed and implemented by utilizing the latest information technology. The research results show that the implementation of this information system is able to overcome various existing problems, as well as support improved performance and governance of the Polmed business unit. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution in supporting the vision and mission of Polmed as a superior educational institution.

Abstract

Bandar Klippa Village is one of the villages in Percut Sei Tuan sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province with an area of ​​1,828.4 Ha. In the village of Bandar Klippa, most of the agricultural land out of a total of 575 hectares is planted with corn with an average yield per hectare of 20 tons if there is sufficient rainfall. Generally, corn farmers immediately sell their crops to the factory after they have been harvested. The price of corn if it is sold directly to the factory is around 2800/kg, namely whole corn and the corn cob because the farmers do not yet have a corn sheller. If shelling is done, the price of corn increases to IDR 4,200/kg or almost 2 times that. This service is intended to help corn farmers get added value to their corn yields by providing a corn sheller machine designed by the proposing team and providing training in the use and maintenance of the sheller machine so that it can be used for a long time. After being crushed, the corncobs can also be sold to cattle breeders at a price of around Rp. 1000 to Rp. 2000 for each kilogram. The sheller machine can shell 350 kg of corn every hour

Abstract

Dusun I Timur Karang Anyar Village Karang Anyar District Beringin Deli Serdang is one of the hamlets where goat breeders still use conventional methods in processing their feed. To provide feed for their goats, farmers have to grind elephant grass, cassava leaves and other forages that grow around the farm site or sometimes from nearby villages. This is quite energy and time consuming for the farmer. If the feed can be stocked for a long period of time, the effectiveness of the farmer's work will be higher. The purpose of this program is to apply appropriate technology to goat farmer groups in processing feed sources by mechanically processing through modernization of livestock with multipurpose animal feed chopping machines, increasing efficiency in the use of goat feed and time effectiveness for raising livestock. This service method is by making a chopping machine for goats that is tailored to the needs of partners and training partners on how to operate and maintain the chopper. With this activity, it is hoped that the efficiency of the use of animal feed and the effectiveness of maintenance time can be increased.

Abstract

Pulau Gambar Village is one of the villages located in Serbajadi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Most of the residents of this village depend on goat farming for their living. Almost every household has goats with a minimum of 15 animals. Farmers still use conventional livestock systems where the feed given to livestock is grass obtained from locations around the farm without being chopped. The percentage of grass wasted at the bottom of the cage is still quite large. Due to limited land, some breeders collect grass for animal feed from other villages as well. The solution offered is in the form of procurement of multi-purpose chopping machines and training in the use of equipment and maintenance as well as training in animal feed processing. By holding this activity, partner problems can be completely resolved, where the capacity of the chopping machine during PKM implementation can reach 500 kg per hour.

Abstract

Feed plays a very important role in the livestock production chain. The results showed that lack of feed for livestock, especially cattle, could reduce body weight by 130-150 grams/head/day, depending on the sex and age of the ox. While the adequacy of feed can increase body weight 1-1,3 kg / head / day. In Bangun Rejo village, located in Tanjung Morawa sub-district, there are many cattle breeders with more than 10 cows per household. The obstacle that was seen when the proposing team conducted a survey to the service location in Bangun Rejo village was the lack of fodder for cattle that grew around the residents' residences due to limited land for planting elephant grass. The potential for feed around the farmers is the presence of cassava and palm fronds that can be used as animal feed. For this reason, we need an equipment that can chop these feed ingredients so that they can be consumed by livestock optimally and safely. The choper is intended to reduce the size of forage feed. In addition to the small size (approximately 2.5 cm long) the presentation of feed becomes more effective, it also allows mixing with additional feed ingredients.

Abstract

Dusun I Timur is one of the hamlets located in Karang Anyar Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, located close to Pantai Labu with a distance of 49.3 km from the Politeknik Negeri Medan campus. who operates a fish pond where the fish that are raised are koi fish, Mr. Putra Kurniawan, a service partner admitted that he has been working on this koi fish pond for more than 10 years with 3 ponds owned by each measuring 10 chains, often partners have to carry out their activities at night to sort the fish according to their size in each pond, because the partner's pond is quite far from the electricity network, partners are only assisted with makeshift lighting from a flashlight, besides that without adequate pond lighting at night the security level fish ponds are also not good where they are prone to theft as well as wild animals editors who come looking for food into the pond at harvest time, this service is intended to provide a solution to the problem of lighting partners' fish ponds at night by utilizing solar energy using solar panels.

Abstract

Desa Pasar X di Kecamatan Kutalimbaru, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, memiliki keterbatasan akses listrik untuk penerangan fasilitas umum. Solusi yang diusulkan adalah sistem pikohidro dengan Turbin Vortex, yang memanfaatkan aliran air sungai untuk menghasilkan listrik. Sistem ini terdiri dari basin berdiameter 100 cm dan tinggi 80 cm dengan impeller 9 sudu. Aliran air menciptakan pusaran yang memutar impeller, mengubah energi air menjadi listrik sebesar 35 watt, cukup untuk menerangi masjid. Sistem ini cocok untuk desa dengan debit air rendah, dan listrik disimpan dalam baterai untuk penggunaan malam hari. Proses implementasi meliputi survei, pemasangan turbin, integrasi dengan sistem lokal, serta uji performa. Inovasi ini mudah diterapkan, berpotensi menjadi model energi terbarukan, dan diharapkan meningkatkan kualitas hidup dengan penerangan yang ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Rural development based on agrotourism is booming in Indonesia to increase community income. The process of cultivating grapes as an agrotourism has stages from land preparation, variety selection, proper watering care, to the process of picking and processing the harvest. The Bangun Sari village community has begun to develop grape cultivation as one of the agrotourism objects. However, due to limited human resources and technology, the productivity of agrotourism plants in Bangun Sari village has not been going well. The results of the grape plants that are currently cultivated are not optimal and many grape plants have not grown well because the irrigation and watering system is not good according to plant needs. International community service activities carried out by lecturers at the Medan State Polytechnic and in collaboration with the Nilai Negeri Sembilan Malaysia Polytechnic aim to implement automatic irrigation methods for grape farmers in Medan City. Community service activities begin with the presentation of material on automatic irrigation and watering systems followed by the fabrication and installation process of equipment in the field. The results of this community service activity are in the form of increased knowledge and delivery of products in the form of automatic irrigation and watering installations that have been installed at the grape cultivation location. The construction of this automatic fertigation equipment can solve farmers' problems. Ultimately, increasing the fertility and yield of grape plants can have an impact on increasing income.
