Abstract

General background: Parenting style plays a crucial role in shaping children’s development, influencing attitudes, behaviors, and academic outcomes. Specific background: In the Indonesian elementary context, particularly in communities with limited parental engagement due to socioeconomic factors, the quality of parenting may directly affect children’s learning achievements. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have mostly examined parenting and academic achievement broadly, without focusing on specific school contexts or applying rigorous statistical analysis at the elementary level. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between parenting styles and academic achievement among 19 fourth-grade students at State Elementary School 258/VI Rejo Sari. Results: Data collected through questionnaires and semester test scores were analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple regression. Findings revealed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.457, p = 0.049), with parenting style explaining 26.6% of achievement variance. Novelty: Unlike earlier descriptive studies, this research provides contextualized evidence within a specific school environment and employs quantitative methods to measure the statistical contribution of parenting. Implications: The results underscore the importance of parent–teacher collaboration, consistent home learning support, and structured motivation, offering practical recommendations for educators, parents, and policymakers to improve educational quality at the elementary level. Abstract

General background: Mathematics is a fundamental discipline crucial for students’ cognitive development, yet many elementary school students in Indonesia continue to struggle with low achievement due to teacher-centered and monotonous instruction. Specific background: At SD Negeri 205/II Bangun Harjo, most fifth-grade students failed to reach the minimum mastery criteria in mathematics, indicating an urgent need for innovative learning models. Knowledge gap: Although cooperative models like Make A Match have been studied in various contexts, empirical evidence on their effectiveness in mathematics learning at the elementary level, particularly in rural settings, remains limited. Aims: This study aimed to analyze the application of the Make A Match model in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Results: Using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design with 11 participants, results revealed an increase in average scores from 56.36 (pretest) to 72.12 (posttest), while learning completeness rose from 27.27% to 63.63%. A paired samples t-test confirmed a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.012 < 0.05). Novelty: The study provides contextual evidence of Make A Match effectiveness in an underrepresented elementary school setting, complemented by rigorous instrument validation. Implications: These findings highlight the model’s potential as an engaging and practical strategy to foster active participation, collaboration, and better mathematics learning outcomes in primary education. Abstract

General background: Literacy is a fundamental competency in primary education, with early reading and writing forming the foundation for lifelong learning. Specific background: However, many second-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Pasar Melintang Tapan still struggle to meet minimum literacy standards, partly due to monotonous teaching methods and limited instructional media. Knowledge gap: While the Picture Word Inductive (PWI) model has been recognized for its potential, its integration with picture word cards in the context of Indonesian primary schools has been underexplored. Aims: This study examined the effectiveness of the PWI model supported by picture word cards in improving students’ beginning reading and writing skills. Results: Using a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design with 42 students, findings revealed significant improvements in the experimental group compared to the control group. Posttest reading scores (79.77 vs. 74.25) and writing scores (82.45 vs. 76.75) demonstrated higher achievement with strong statistical support (p < .001). Novelty: The study contributes evidence that combining inductive vocabulary strategies with visual media enhances literacy acquisition more effectively than conventional methods. Implications: These results suggest that integrating PWI and picture word cards can serve as a practical and scalable strategy to strengthen national literacy initiatives in early grades. Abstract

General background: Quality science learning in elementary schools often declines when dominated by teacher-centered methods, limiting students’ critical and collaborative engagement. Specific background: At SDN 178/II Purwasari, sixth-grade IPAS lessons showed low achievement, with only 43.4% of students meeting the minimum criteria. Knowledge gap: While cooperative models such as Numbered Head Together (NHT) have been widely studied, few have examined their effectiveness in IPAS within the Kurikulum Merdeka context, which emphasizes inquiry and 21st-century competencies. Aim: This study investigates the implementation of the NHT model to enhance learning processes and outcomes in grade VI IPAS. Results: Using a classroom action research design over two cycles with 23 students, findings revealed improvements in teacher performance (81.2% to 100%), student engagement (65.7% to 83.6%), and learning mastery (43.4% pre-cycle; 73.9% cycle I; 82.6% cycle II). Novelty: Unlike prior studies on single-subject applications, this work demonstrates the integration of NHT in IPAS as an interdisciplinary subject aligned with Kurikulum Merdeka. Implications: The study highlights NHT’s potential to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and responsibility, offering a practical pedagogical strategy to support national curriculum reforms and improve elementary science education. Abstract

General background: Reading ability is a fundamental skill that underpins students’ overall learning success, yet many early grade learners still face obstacles in achieving fluency. Specific background: In Indonesian elementary schools, conventional reading practices often lack variation in methods and media, limiting student engagement and comprehension. Knowledge gap: Few studies have systematically integrated the syllable method with interactive media tailored to strengthen beginning reading skills. Aims: This study seeks to examine the effectiveness of the Syllable Method assisted by Word Tree Media in improving the beginning reading skills of second-grade students at SDN 112/II Purwo Bakti. Results: Conducted as classroom action research over two cycles, the study recorded progressive improvements in teacher observation scores (65% to 80%), student observation scores (59.66% to 80%), and reading mastery (from 6 to 28 out of 30 students meeting the minimum competency standard). Novelty: Unlike prior approaches, the integration of syllable-based instruction with Word Tree Media offers both visual scaffolding and interactive engagement, fostering active participation and systematic reading development. Implications: The findings suggest that this method can be adopted by teachers as a practical, low-cost innovation to enhance literacy instruction and may be further explored across grade levels and subjects. Highlight: The syllable method assisted by word tree media enhances early reading skills. Findings reveal significant improvements in teacher performance, student engagement, and reading mastery. Abstract

General Background: Telemedicine has rapidly evolved as a pivotal component of global healthcare, providing remote services that enhance clinical outcomes and patient access. Specific Background: Despite significant technological advancements, the design dimension of telemedicine systems remains crucial for ensuring usability, inclusivity, and sustainability. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have primarily addressed isolated aspects of interface or AI integration, lacking a comprehensive, data-driven mapping of global design trends in telemedicine. Aims: This study employs a bibliometric analysis of 1,115 open-access Scopus-indexed publications (2014–2024) to map thematic clusters, identify evolving research focuses, and evaluate key design approaches in telemedicine. Results: Findings reveal a sharp rise in publications post-2020 driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, with six major clusters encompassing user-centered design, clinical effectiveness, access equity, research methodology, pandemic response, and integration of scientific databases. Novelty: By synthesizing technological, clinical, and socio-economic perspectives, this research provides the first decade-long, global bibliometric analysis of telemedicine design, highlighting adaptive user-centered and evidence-based approaches. Implications: The results underscore the necessity for inclusive, crisis-responsive, and evidence-informed design strategies to enhance telemedicine’s scalability and equity across diverse healthcare contexts Highlights: Highlights rapid growth of telemedicine design research, especially post-COVID-19. Abstract

Background: Indonesia’s pursuit of Universal Health Coverage through Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) has faced sustainability challenges, prompting reforms in provider payment systems. Specific Background: The introduction of a mixed-methods model combining Indonesian Case-Based Groups (INA-CBG) and global budget represents a pilot effort to stabilize hospital financing. Knowledge Gap: While national-level reports highlight variability in implementation outcomes, evidence from individual hospitals remains scarce, limiting understanding of operational challenges in different contexts. Aims: This study examined the implementation of the mixed-methods pilot project at ‘Aisyiyah Purworejo General Hospital, focusing on budget allocation, distribution mechanisms, and discrepancies between projections and actual claims. Results: Findings revealed recurrent mismatches between projected budgets and realized claims, driven by declining patient visits, delays in efficiency measures, limited specialist availability, and redistribution of service volume across hospitals. Mid-term utilization reviews reduced the hospital’s budget from IDR 8 billion to IDR 6 billion, with both deficits and surpluses observed across quarters. Novelty: Unlike previous studies, this research highlights the absence of zoning-based patient control and the non-imposition of expenditure risks, offering unique insights into hospital-level dynamics. Implications: These findings inform future health financing policies, particularly regarding risk-sharing models and sustainability of mixed-method payment reforms under JKN. Abstract

Background (General): Digital platforms are increasingly adopted in elementary education to address challenges in student engagement. Background (Specific): In ecosystem learning within science education, conventional methods often fail to sustain motivation and active participation. Google Sites offers an alternative as an interactive and accessible tool for teaching. Knowledge Gap: Few studies in Indonesia have examined teachers’ acceptance of Google Sites for elementary-level ecosystem learning using a structured theoretical framework. Aim: This study analyzes teachers’ acceptance of Google Sites by applying the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. Results: Findings show that all measurement indicators met validity and reliability criteria, with factor loadings above 0.7, composite reliability exceeding 0.7, and AVE values above 0.5. Teachers reported Google Sites as useful, easy to use, supported socially, and adequately facilitated by resources. Novelty: This study provides the first structured UTAUT-based evaluation of Google Sites in Indonesian elementary science education. Implications: Results suggest that Google Sites can support teachers in designing more meaningful and interactive ecosystem learning, offering practical insights for integrating digital media in schools. Highlight Teachers accepted Google Sites positively in ecosystem learning. All validity and reliability indicators met recommended standards. Abstract

General Background: Science education in the digital era requires innovative learning models that integrate technology to foster deeper understanding and engagement. Specific Background: Despite the growing application of Augmented Reality (AR) in classrooms, its integration into structured pedagogical models for junior high school science remains limited. Knowledge Gap: Existing research emphasizes AR’s benefits for visualization and interaction, yet there is no comprehensive model that combines exploratory, collaborative, and supportive approaches using AR, particularly for the topic of the Solar System. Aim: This study aims to develop and validate the EKSPLORS learning model supported by AR modules for seventh-grade science learning. Results: The model was developed using the Dick and Carey design framework and evaluated by instructional design, subject matter, and media experts, as well as through individual trials. Validation scores indicated high feasibility: 95% (instructional design), 86% (content), 89% (media), and 88% (student trials). Novelty: The model uniquely integrates exploration, collaboration, and scaffolding with AR-based visualization to enhance conceptual understanding of abstract scientific phenomena. Implications: Findings suggest that the EKSPLORS-AR model can significantly improve motivation, engagement, and comprehension in science education, offering a scalable innovation aligned with the Merdeka Belajar policy and digital transformation in Indonesian schools.Highlight : The EKSPLORS model with AR module was rated highly feasible by experts. This innovation helps students understand abstract science concepts interactively. The development follows the systematic steps of the Dick & Carey model. Abstract

Background: Education quality in rural areas often faces challenges due to limited access to technology and conventional teaching methods that reduce student motivation. Specific Background: In SDN 3 Bojong, Bungbulang, traditional teaching dominated by lectures and textbooks resulted in suboptimal learning outcomes and low student engagement, especially in science subjects. Knowledge Gap: Limited studies have examined the use of web-based media in elementary schools in rural areas with restricted infrastructure. Aim: This study investigates how web-based learning media supports concept mastery and engagement in science lessons. Results: Using a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test, significant differences were found between experimental and control groups. Post-test mean scores improved to 88.5, and 96% of students reached the mastery criterion. N-gain analysis showed a medium category improvement (0.6210 or 62.10%). Student interest was categorized as very high (94.44%). Novelty: This study highlights the successful implementation of web-based media in a rural elementary school context, showing its capacity to create interactive and enjoyable learning experiences. Implications: Findings support integrating web-based media as an accessible solution to foster conceptual understanding and engagement in resource-limited educational settings.
