Abstract

General Background: Education in the 21st century demands learning approaches that foster higher-order thinking skills. Specific Background: Problem-Based Learning (PBL) has been widely used to structure learning experiences that encourage critical thinking. However, learning media such as Student Worksheets (LKPD) require systematic evaluation to ensure their effectiveness. Knowledge Gap: Although many studies have developed PBL-based LKPD, there has been no comprehensive review analyzing publication trends, validity, practicality, and results from multiple studies. Aims: This study aims to synthesize findings from national studies on the development and implementation of PBL-based LKPD to train students’ critical thinking skills. Results: A total of 17 articles (2019–2025) were systematically reviewed. Most studies (88.24%) reported that PBL-based LKPD were valid, practical, and effective in fostering critical thinking, with publication trends increasing notably between 2023 and 2025. Novelty: This review applies the Systematic Literature Review method to provide a structured synthesis, identifying variations in research focus across educational levels. Implications: The findings support the strategic use of PBL-based LKPD as innovative learning media to cultivate critical thinking skills and inform future curriculum development and research. Highlight: PBL-based LKPD consistently validated as effective tools for critical thinking. Research focus varies by educational level, reflecting implementation stages. Publication trends reveal growing interest in innovative learning approaches. Abstract

Background: Religious and moral challenges among urban Muslim youth are intensifying in the digital era, especially in areas with significant Muslim populations. Specific Background: Medan Denai District faces increasing moral degradation among Islamic youth, despite having many religious institutions. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have examined the role of religious leaders generally, but none have specifically analyzed their role in Medan Denai using an inverted pyramid framework and integrating digital era challenges. Aims: This study aims to analyze the strategic role of religious leaders in shaping youth morality through the inverted pyramid approach. Results: The findings reveal that religious leaders play fundamental roles through three strategies: digital-era da'wah adaptation, intensive mentoring, and mosque revitalization. These have led to increased youth participation and strengthened moral behavior, although challenges remain regarding social media influence, parental involvement, and institutional synergy. Novelty: This study develops a contextual model of youth moral development based on the inverted pyramid framework adapted to the digital era. Implications: The study highlights the importance of collaborative strategies between religious leaders, families, and institutions to address contemporary moral challenges. Highlight Religious leaders act as moral anchors for youth in urban communities. Inverted pyramid approach builds strong spiritual foundations before behavioral change. Abstract

Background: Vocabulary mastery is a central component in Arabic language learning, yet many elementary students struggle to remember and apply new words effectively. Specific background: Traditional approaches relying on lectures and repetition often fail to maintain engagement, limiting vocabulary retention. Knowledge gap: Few studies have empirically explored game-based strategies, particularly the Bingo method, for Arabic vocabulary learning at the elementary level.  Aims: This study examined the role of the Bingo game, assisted by card media, in supporting Arabic vocabulary mastery among fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtida’iyah Darut Taqwa. Results: Findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ scores—from an average of 43.33 to 54.66—with a gain score of 11.33 categorized as high. The paired-sample t-test confirmed statistical significance (p < 0.001), indicating that students demonstrated higher engagement and retention after the intervention. Novelty: Integrating Bingo into vocabulary instruction provides a playful, social, and interactive learning atmosphere aligned with the Merdeka Belajar framework. Implications: The study contributes to curriculum design by offering an innovative learning model that can be further developed digitally to support technology-integrated Arabic learning in the 21st century. Highlights Game-based learning fosters active participation and enjoyment in Arabic vocabulary classes. Bingo cards enhance students’ memory and comprehension of new Arabic words. Abstract

General Background: The rapid development of digital technology has revolutionized public services by encouraging the adoption of online systems to improve efficiency and accessibility. Specific Background: In Indonesia, the Ferizy application was introduced company as an online ferry ticket booking system to support digital transformation in transportation. However, persistent user complaints indicate shortcomings in usability and service performance. Knowledge Gap: Despite its crucial role, comprehensive evaluations of Ferizy’s user experience and service performance using structured analytical models remain limited. Aims: This study aims to analyze the user experience of the Ferizy application using the HEART Framework and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) to identify priority areas for improvement. Results: Findings reveal that all HEART dimensions scored below the 70% usability target, with Task Success at the lowest (55.18%). IPA results highlight seven attributes (H8, H12, T2, T3, T4, T7, T8) requiring immediate enhancement, particularly in ease of use, booking speed, and system stability. Novelty: The study integrates HEART and IPA approaches to provide a structured, user-centered evaluation of a national-scale transportation service. Implications: The results offer actionable insights for developers and policymakers to optimize digital service design and improve overall user satisfaction with public transportation applications. Abstract

Background: The rapid growth of the digital economy in Indonesia has provided new opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises to utilize online platforms such as Shopee to strengthen business performance. Specific background: Despite this potential, the digital adoption rate among enterprises in Medan City remains relatively low, indicating a gap in understanding how marketing strategies and competitiveness shape financial outcomes. Knowledge gap: Previous research has not sufficiently examined the mediating role of competitiveness between marketing mix components and enterprise revenue, particularly within a Sharia-compliant electronic commerce context. Aims: This study aims to analyze the contribution of product, price, place, and promotion to enterprise revenue through competitiveness as a mediating variable. Results: Using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares on data from 102 enterprises operating on the Shopee platform, the findings show that product, price, and promotion have significant direct and indirect positive contributions to revenue through competitiveness, while place has only a direct contribution. Novelty: The research integrates marketing mix theory with Islamic business principles, positioning competitiveness as a strategic mediator for digital business growth. Implications: The results provide practical insights for enterprises and policymakers in developing ethical and data-driven marketing strategies to support sustainable competitiveness in Indonesia’s digital commerce ecosystem. Highlight Product, price, and promotion contribute significantly to enterprise revenue through competitiveness. Abstract

Background: Employee performance evaluation in government institutions often lacks objectivity and consistency, causing unequal treatment and management inefficiency. Specific background: The Lhokseumawe District Prosecutor’s Office required a structured evaluation system for honorary employees to ensure transparent and fair assessments. Knowledge gap: Few studies have applied the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique in government-based performance evaluation systems. Aims: This study aimed to design and implement a web-based evaluation system using the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique to support accurate and accountable decision-making. Results: The developed system reduced evaluator subjectivity, ensured consistent weighting of criteria, and produced objective evaluation results. Usability testing showed an average System Usability Scale score of 80.92, categorized as “Good.” Novelty: This study presents the first integration of this method into a prosecutorial work environment. Implications: The system contributes to modernization in public human resource management by promoting transparency, fairness, and efficiency in employee evaluation and decision-making. Abstract

Background: Efficient and transparent complaint management is a key component of improving public services in local governments. Specific Background: At the Minahasa Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office, complaint handling has been performed manually, leading to slow responses, lack of transparency, and administrative inefficiencies. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have focused on web-based complaint platforms but have not addressed simple and fair queuing mechanisms to manage incoming reports. Aim: This study aims to design and implement a web-based complaint management system that applies the First In First Out algorithm to structure the handling of public complaints. Results: The developed system successfully organized complaints according to arrival order, reduced response time from three–five days to one–two days, improved administrative workflows, and provided real-time monitoring for users and administrators. Novelty: Unlike prior approaches that used priority or round robin scheduling, this study integrates First In First Out to ensure fairness and clarity in processing sequences, proven through real implementation. Implications: The system contributes to digital governance by strengthening transparency, accountability, and efficiency in local public service management. Highlight First In First Out algorithm ensures fair and structured complaint handling. System reduces response time and improves administrative efficiency. Abstract

Background: The growing number of private universities in Banten Province has intensified competition for student recruitment. Specific background: Universities have adopted gamification marketing and improved service quality to attract potential students, but their effectiveness in higher education remains unclear. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have mainly examined these strategies in retail and e-commerce sectors, leaving limited evidence in the educational context. Aim: This study investigates how gamification marketing using game-based learning and university service quality relate to students’ enrollment decisions. Results: Quantitative analysis with 240 respondents revealed that both gamification marketing and service quality showed a very small and statistically insignificant relationship with enrollment decisions (R² = 13%, p > 0.05). Novelty: The findings challenge prior studies by showing that gamification and service quality, though well-designed, do not directly influence student decision-making in short-term exposure. Implications: Universities should continue employing gamified marketing and service enhancement as complementary strategies while exploring other influential factors such as reputation, tuition fees, and career prospects. • Gamification marketing and service quality show minimal association with student enrollment.• Game-based learning offers engagement benefits but limited short-term behavioral outcomes.• Further studies should explore long-term effects and additional influencing factors. Abstract

Background: Early numeracy literacy is a fundamental component of cognitive development, yet studies and PISA 2022 results reveal that Indonesian children still perform below international standards. Specific background: This limitation is partly due to the scarcity of engaging and interactive learning media that contextualize mathematical concepts. Knowledge gap: Previous digital learning tools often separated storytelling from numerical learning, reducing children’s engagement. Aims: This study aimed to develop and validate an interactive storybook—Petualangan Seru Qiqi—based on the SMART principles (Simple, Measurable, Attractive, Relevant, and Applicable) to foster early numeracy skills. Results: Using a Research and Development (R&D) 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), expert validation confirmed the book’s high feasibility (average 89.3%), while the paired t-test showed a significant improvement in children’s numeracy scores (mean difference = 9.47, p = 0.001). Novelty: The product uniquely integrates storytelling with embedded numerical challenges in a multisensory digital format. Implications: The findings demonstrate that interactive storybooks can serve as a practical, pedagogically sound innovation for teachers and curriculum developers in early childhood education. Highlight The SMART-based interactive storybook effectively supports early numeracy learning. Validation and testing confirm its pedagogical and technological feasibility. Abstract

Background: Chili pepper production in North Sulawesi Province plays a vital role in regional food supply yet experiences frequent fluctuations due to natural and seasonal factors. Specific Background: These production instabilities have led to difficulties in market price control and agricultural planning, prompting the need for accurate predictive models. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have compared regression and neural network algorithms in various domains, but little research has focused on local agricultural commodities such as chili peppers in North Sulawesi. Aim: This study compares the performance of Multiple Linear Regression and Backpropagation algorithms in estimating chili pepper production using statistical data from the North Sulawesi Statistics Agency (2018–2023). Results: Evaluation using R-squared (R²) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) shows that Backpropagation achieved R² = 0.846 and MAPE = 3.235%, outperforming Multiple Linear Regression (R² = 0.228; MAPE = 6.875%). Novelty: The study uniquely applies machine learning algorithms to a regional agricultural context characterized by nonlinear and fluctuating production data. Implications: The findings demonstrate the potential of Backpropagation as a reliable predictive tool for developing intelligent agricultural systems that support production planning and food security policy in North Sulawesi. Highlights Backpropagation shows higher accuracy than Multiple Linear Regression. Estimation uses agricultural data from North Sulawesi Province.
