IBTIDA (Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan Dasar) adalah jurnal yang diterbitkan pada Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan pada Institut Agama Islam Nahdlatul Ulama ( IAINU Kebumen ). Jurnal ini terbit dua kali setahun pada bulan Juni dan Desember . Selanjutnya jurnal ini diterbitkan dalam dua. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the multiplication bag learning media in improving the ability to calculate multiplication in class 2 students at SDI Ulil Albab Kebumen for the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection in this research used interview observation and documentation methods. The background to this research is that the multiplication learning results of class 2 students at SDI Ulil Albab are still below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) with 2 cycles. Each includes implementation planning, observation, evaluation, and reflection. The data collection technique used uses tests. The results show that the implementation of multiplication learning using multiplication bag learning media improved student learning outcomes with an average achievement of 66.66% in cycle I to 88.88% in cycle II. So it can be concluded that the use of multiplication bag learning media can increase second grade students' understanding of the concept of multiplication.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning motivation in the fourth grade of SD N 4 Bumirejo. The model used is a classroom action research model with one cycle. Cycle I was carried out in one meeting with four stages of activities, namely, planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 16 fourth grade students of SD N 4 Bumirejo. Data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used interactive analysis with stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the pre-cycle study showed that the average result of student learning motivation was 46.25%, and increased in cycle I with a percentage of 68.75% after implementing the discovery learning model. Therefore, it can be concluded that learning with the discovery learning model can increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of the SEMUT (Sejenak Memungut/Briefly Picking Up) Waste Collection Program at Sekolah Alam Pacitan; and (2) describe the role of teachers in fostering students’ environmental care character through the program. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data sources consisting of first to third-grade teachers and selected third-grade students at Sekolah Alam Pacitan. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with data credibility ensured through source and technique triangulation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the SEMUT Program has been implemented in accordance with its components and indicators, including planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. However, community participation levels still require improvement. The teacher, as an educator, serves as a role model by consistently demonstrating proper waste disposal and management habits. The teacher provides appreciation for students' efforts as a form of motivation. As a guide, the teacher shows commitment by initiating activities that reduce the use of single-use items. The teacher trains students by involving them in hands-on practices. Acting as a facilitator, the teacher provides space for skill development through innovative project-based activities aligned with the principles of 5R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replant, Replace).

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine how muhadhoroh activities can help improve students' self-confidence at SDIT Widya Cendekia. This activity is a public speaking exercise that has become a regular part of the school program. Through muhadhoroh, students learn to speak in front of their peers, express their opinions, and develop courage from an early age. The study used a qualitative approach with interviews with four teachers directly involved. The data obtained were then analyzed to determine the role of teachers and the impact of the activities on students. The results showed that muhadhoroh had a positive influence on students' self-confidence, especially for those who were initially shy. Students became more confident speaking, had the courage to speak in front of the class, and were able to express their opinions more clearly. The support of teachers and parents also significantly contributed to students' feeling of preparedness and confidence. Overall, muhadhoroh activities can be an effective habit-forming tool for fostering self-confidence and developing positive character traits in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study explores the application of deep learning approaches in primary education through a literature review. The research aims to examine how deep learning characterized by joyful, meaningful, and mindful learning can be implemented to foster holistic student development. Utilizing the PRISMA framework, relevant national and international publications from 2014 to 2024 were reviewed and analyzed. The results indicate that while the term “deep learning” is often associated with technology and artificial intelligence, its pedagogical meaning centered on Fullan’s 6Cs frameworki s still underutilized in classroom practice. Key obstacles to implementation include limited teacher training, rigid curricula, inadequate facilities, and resistance to change in educational mindsets. Despite these challenges, deep learning offers significant potential to cultivate critical thinking, empathy, collaboration, and lifelong learning in students. The study concludes that a shift in perspective is needed, urging educators to adopt and adapt deep learning strategies in alignment with student needs and future educational demands.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed the processes of information production and distribution. The condition must be addressed by the education sector as both a challenge and an opportunity in preparing students to face the realities of life in the digital age. Learners are required to possess digital literacy skills as part of essential competencies. Therefore, critical thinking as the foundation of digital literacy, needs to be taught from the elementary school level. The study aims to examine the concept of critical thinking and effective pedagogical strategies to foster this ability in the elementary school learning environment. The research method employed is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings indicate that critical thinking is a competency that can be systematically taught and developed through active student engagement in inquiry-based learning, problem-based learning, and cooperative learning. The study concludes that strengthening critical thinking skills in elementary school students constitutes a strategic step toward building comprehensive digital literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the character habituation practices implemented at MI Wotbuwono through a series of daily and weekly religious activities. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that character habituation is carried out through morning greetings and handshakes, Qur’anic reading and memorization activities (RTQ) based on students’ levels, recitation of Asmaul Husna before lessons, scheduled dhuha prayer and tahlil, and daily congregational Dzuhur prayer. All activities are supervised by teachers and implemented consistently, contributing to the formation of students’ religious character, discipline, responsibility, and noble behavior. The results indicate that systematic habituation serves as an effective strategy for character education in Islamic elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of class 5 students at MI GUPPI At Taqwa Kaliwader in the Pancasila Education subject through the use of Historical Picture Story (HPS) media. The research results showed that the use of HPS media was successful in increasing students' understanding of the historical material on the birth of Pancasila. This can be seen from the increase in the average student score, namely from 34.54 on the pre-test to 56 on the post-test. HPS media helps students understand the material more easily through the visualization of interesting historical images and simple narratives. This media is also suitable for use in schools with limited digital facilities such as projectors. However, this research found obstacles, such as the limited number of HPS media which made it difficult for some students to see images and read text clearly. This shows that HPS media needs to be provided in greater quantities or in a larger format so that it can be accessed by all students equally. Overall, HPS media has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes, especially in understanding abstract concepts such as Pancasila values. The use of learning media such as HPS can be a creative and efficient alternative, especially in school environments with limited facilities. This research recommends increasing the number or variety of HPS media so that learning can be more optimal and provide an enjoyable learning experience for students.
