Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the influence of digital marketing and product innovation on the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in Sukabumi City in facing the challenges of the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) era. The research method used a mixed method, where a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis techniques was reinforced by qualitative interviews to explore the practical perspectives of business actors. The results show that digital marketing plays an important role in expanding market reach, enhancing brand image, and building consumer loyalty as the foundation for business sustainability. Product innovation has also been proven to be significant in creating differentiation, maintaining relevance to dynamic market needs, and increasing added value for consumers. However, competitiveness does not function as a significant mediating variable between digital marketing and product innovation on business sustainability. These findings contribute theoretically by enriching the literature on the dynamic capabilities of MSMEs, while challenging the traditional view that competitiveness is the only major factor in business sustainability. Practically, the results emphasize the importance of consistent innovation, the use of digital technology, and the support of an integrated business ecosystem in maintaining the sustainability of MSMEs amid the uncertainty of the VUCA era.

Abstract

The legacy of coal mining in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, has left numerous degraded landscapes, including abandoned pit lakes that pose significant environmental and social challenges. Amidst these issues, local communities in Desa Loa Ulung have initiated a transformation, repurposing this former mining pit lake into tourism destinations. This article aims to examine the planning and implementation processes undertaken by these local initiatives. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis with key local initiators and managers. The analysis reveals that the planning process is predominantly organic and adaptive, driven by strong social capital and personal initiatives, often navigating a void in formal legal status. This informal framework enables flexible, bottom-up innovation but also presents challenges related to incremental resource mobilization, limited infrastructure, and fragmented spatial layouts. The findings highlight how community-driven approaches reframe degraded lands into valuable assets, offering critical insights into adaptive development strategies in post-extractive contexts. This study underscores the importance of understanding local dynamics for fostering resilient and community-led transformations of challenging landscapes.

Abstract

In the 2024 legislative campaign, Sigit Raditya competed as a legislative candidate in one of the highly competitive electoral districts, the West Java VI Electoral District. Sigit Raditya lost in competing in the electoral district. This study uses a qualitative design with primary data through interviews with Sigit Raditya and the campaign team in Bekasi and Depok. The analysis was carried out using Nursal's political marketing framework which divides the focus of political marketing into three strategies, namely push, pull, and pass marketing. This study shows findings that in the political marketing that has been implemented by the Sigit Raditya campaign team, all three approaches have been contextually applied in the campaign in Bekasi and Depok. As a newcomer, formation and strengthening through an emotional approach with face-to-face practices are carried out in the push marketing strategy. However, this strategy is not optimal due to inadequate volunteer capacity and Sigit Raditya's absence from several face-to-face visit schedules which reduce his exposure to the grassroots. Then exposure to attract voters through visual media in a combination of digital (social media) and conventional (billboards, brochures) has also been implemented, but there are some inconsistencies in the visuals and aesthetics offered on social media and the distribution of props is uneven. While marketing using the pass marketing approach has attracted several public figures to strengthen support at the grassroots level, this strategy can still require encouragement from the involvement of public figures or influencers who work actively to market Sigit Raditya so that the reach of messages and exposure can increase and expand.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is a crucial aspect in the performance of health workers, especially nurses, because it affects the quality of service and work outcomes. Nurses who feel job satisfaction tend to provide optimal service according to their competence. This study aims to identify factors associated to nurses' job satisfaction and determine the most influential variables in Tabanan Regency Hospital. This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 172 nurses selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using a standardized questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Analysis was conducted univariately, bivariately using the Chi-square test, and multivariately with binary logistic regression. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between work motivation (p=0.009) and reward system (p=0.033) with job satisfaction. Multivariate analysis identified work motivation as the dominant factor with odds ratio (OR) of 4.424 (95% CI: 1.309–14.952). Work motivation was shown to be a major determinant of nurse’ job satisfaction. Managerial interventions that focus on improving internal and external motivation are expected to increase nurses' job satisfaction, which in turn has a positive impact on the quality of nursing services.

Abstract

This study examines the criminal responsibility of a child perpetrator of sexual intercourse offenses under Indonesia’s juvenile justice system, focusing on the analysis of the District Court of Pangkalpinang Decision Number 4/Pid.Sus-Anak/2025/PN Pgp. The child was sentenced to three months in a Special Child Development Institution and required to participate in a three-month vocational training program. The sentence was conditional, emphasizing rehabilitative and educational approaches. This research aims to assess the alignment of the judicial verdict with the principles of Law Number 11 of 2012 on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, particularly the application of restorative justice and non-penal approaches for juvenile offenders. Employing normative juridical methods and a case study approach, this paper reveals that the conditional sentence and vocational training illustrate a concrete application of juvenile criminal punishment prioritizing the child’s best interests and legal protection. Furthermore, the involvement of legal counsel, social advisors, and the child’s parents signifies the practical implementation of restorative justice principles within juvenile court proceedings.

Abstract

Traditional health services are increasingly recognized as essential components of promotive and preventive health care in Indonesia. One such facility is Griya Sehat at the UPT Laboratory of Herbal Materia Medica Batu, which offers various therapies including acupressure, cupping, and standardized herbal medicines. Despite this potential, visitation rates remain below institutional expectations. This study aimed to examine the influence of knowledge, service quality, and infrastructure on public intention to visit the facility. A quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among 170 respondents recruited through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with ordinal logistic regression. Assumption testing was performed prior to analysis, including multicollinearity diagnostics and the test of parallel lines to assess the proportional odds assumption. The findings showed that all three predictors significantly influenced visiting intention. Knowledge had a positive effect (β = 0.205; p = 0.001), indicating that respondents with greater awareness of traditional therapies were more likely to report stronger intention to visit. Service quality also contributed significantly (β = 0.115; p < 0.001), with responsiveness, empathy, and professional assurance being the most valued dimensions. Among the predictors, infrastructure was the most dominant determinant (β = 0.546; p < 0.001), with respondents highlighting cleanliness, equipment readiness, and comfort as strengths, while temperature, lighting, and navigation were identified as areas needing improvement. Model evaluation indicated good fit, with a Nagelkerke R² value of 0.664, suggesting that the predictors explained approximately two-thirds of the variance in visiting intention. In conclusion, enhancing infrastructure, supported by improvements in service quality and community knowledge, is crucial to strengthen public intention to visit Griya Sehat. Strategic recommendations include upgrading physical facilities, improving patient-centered communication, and expanding health promotion to raise awareness of the benefits and safety of traditional health services.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the development of Regionally- Owned Enterprises (BUMDER) at the Umbul Brintik tourist attraction along with supporting and inhibiting factors in community empowerment in Malangjiwan Village. The theory used is Duncan's effectiveness theory in Steers (1985). The research method uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The results of the study indicate that the development of Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMDER) at the Umbul Brintik tourist attraction in community empowerment in Malangjiwan Village on the indicator of achieving goals is considered effective, seen during the period 2017-2025, concrete target targets can be achieved which have a positive impact on the receipt of Regional Original Income and economic benefits for Malangjiwan villagers. The integration indicator is considered effective because socialization has been carried out through Village Deliberations every three months and Village Discussions once a year. The adaptation indicator is considered quite effective because the development of Umbul Brintik as a therapeutic tour can hold an educational scholarship program for Malangjiwan villagers. However, it is necessary to improve the digital capabilities of the Promotion Team and develop a technology-based system that is integrated with the digital cashier system. Supporting factors include the existence of concrete targets that have been achieved to contribute to financing village development and economic benefits for villagers and MSME actors in Malangjiwan Village, while inhibiting factors include the lack of digital training for the Promotion Team and a digital system that has not been integrated in developing the Umbul Brintik tourist attraction. The development of the Umbul Birntik tourist attraction will be highly effective if it is strengthened by the public accountability needed to assess the accountability and openness of information from the Malangjiwan Village Government and BUMDER Sumber Makmur to villagers by involving relevant stakeholders in Malangjiwan Village.

Abstract

This research investigates the mediating role of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in the relationship between social media advertising and impulsive purchase decisions among Generation Z consumers in Jambi City, Indonesia. Using a quantitative survey and Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS), data from 199 respondents were analyzed. Results indicate that social media advertising exerts a weak direct influence on impulsive buying (β = 0.09, p > 0.05), while FOMO has a strong and significant positive effect (β = 0.62, p < 0.001). Furthermore, social media advertising significantly influences FOMO (β = 0.68, p < 0.001), which mediates its relationship with impulsive purchasing (indirect effect β = 0.42, p < 0.001). The findings demonstrate that emotional and social triggers outweigh direct marketing exposure in shaping impulsive consumption among Gen Z. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of affective mechanisms in digital marketing and offers managerial insights for responsible and ethical branding.
