Abstract

The dynamic rapid development of the modern industrial world makes competition between companies increasingly challenging, with hospitality being one of the industries affected by this rapid development, where one strategy to deal with global economic uncertainty is effective and efficient HR management oriented towards improving productive performance, and as part of this HR management strategy, many contribute to employee productive performance, including job satisfaction. Job satisfaction, its aspects include working conditions, job security, opportunities for growth, salary and communication. This study aims to determine the job satisfaction in employees at Kusuma Prince Hotel Surakarta and understand what affects it. This descriptive qualitative study used purposive sampling to select participants meeting specific research criteria, collecting data through observations and in-depth interviews with hotel employees about their work experiences, documented via audio recordings and photographs. Following data collection, the researchers conducted factor analysis to identify key patterns and themes, ultimately drawing conclusions from the analyzed findings. The study reveals that job satisfaction at Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel is primarily driven by psychosocial factors like communication and relationships, rather than material benefits. The dynamics of the job satisfaction at Kusuma Sahid Prince Hotel are related to: 1. communication and interpersonal relationships, 2. job security, 3. development opportunities, 4. salary, 5. working conditions. This is demonstrating how human-centered workplace dynamics build organizational strength during economic difficulties.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of mining commodity prices and macroeconomic variables on the mutual fund industry in Indonesia with a comparison of 3 different economic periods. Background: Indonesia is known as one of the countries with the largest mining reserves in the world. This potential makes Indonesia one of the countries that is a strategic place to invest. However, in recent years there has been global economic turmoil that has a direct impact on investment, such as the US-China trade war, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine war. Based on these events, the question arises whether mining price fluctuations and macroeconomic variables can affect mutual fund investment in Indonesia. Novelty: To the best of the researchers' knowledge, there has been no research linking nickel and copper commodity price variables to the mutual fund industry as well as research using a comparison of 3 economic periods. Research Methods: This research uses time series data analysis with the observation period 2013-2023 and the VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) method with three times of data analysis. This research is based on the utilization of secondary data types obtained from legitimate official Indonesian government institutions (Bank Indonesia, Financial Services Authority, and Central Statistics Agency) and investing.id website. Findings/Results: This study found that macroeconomic variables and mining commodity prices have different short-term and long-term effects on the mutual fund industry in Indonesia. Conclusion: The inconsistency of the variables affecting the mutual fund industry is caused by shocks that occur in different economic periods.

Abstract

This study examines the implications of prenuptial agreements on the status of marital property in Money Laundering Crimes (TPPU). The research aims to analyze the legal status of assets separated through prenuptial agreements when one spouse is involved in money laundering, and to evaluate legal protection mechanisms for good-faith spouses. The study focuses on the conflict between the principle of party autonomy in marriage law and the principles of follow the money and asset recovery under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The method used is normative juridical, employing statutory and theoretical approaches, including the theory of legal protection, the theory of evidence, and the concept of reverse burden of proof. Findings reveal that prenuptial agreements hold a strategic role as instruments of legal certainty under the principle of freedom of contract and the 1945 Constitution. However, in practice, within money laundering and corruption cases, their effectiveness is limited because the principles of follow the money and reverse burden of proof grant broad authority to law enforcement to seize assets even if formally legitimate. The normative conflict between civil and criminal law creates legal uncertainty disadvantaging third parties, while existing protections remain suboptimal due to high evidentiary standards and procedural barriers. Thus, regulatory harmonization is necessary to ensure legal certainty, prevent misuse of prenuptial agreements, and provide effective protection for good-faith spouses.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the criminalisation aspect of the act of transferring the object of fiduciary guarantee without the written consent of the fiduciary recipient in the perspective of criminal law, with a case study of the Pangkalpinang District Court Decision Number 118/Pid.Sus/2024/PN Pgp. In this case, the defendant was sentenced to criminal punishment for transferring the vehicle which was the object of fiduciary guarantee to a third party without the consent of the financing party. The research method used in this research is normative juridical with a case approach. The results of the analysis show that the criminalisation of the act aims to provide legal protection for the financing institution, but on the other hand it raises a debate because the act of civil default is qualified as a criminal act. This study recommends the need for harmonisation between civil and criminal law in responding to violations of fiduciary agreements so as not to cause excessive criminalisation and still uphold the principle of justice.

Abstract

For both registered trademark owners and consumers, the market's circulation of fake goods especially cigarettes under the DJITOE BOLD brand presents significant challenges. The purpose of this study is to examine the types of legal protection available to registered trademark owners who have been harmed by trademark counterfeiting, as well as to consumers who have been harmed by buying subpar counterfeit goods. With a statutory approach and a case study methodology, this study uses a normative legal research type and focuses on Pangkalpinang District Court Decision Number 17/Pid.B/2022/PN Pgp. The results of the study show that while Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection provides consumer protection, Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications regulates legal protection for trademark owners. Although the court ruling against the trademark counterfeiter is thought to have satisfied the criminal requirements, consumer protection is still not being implemented as well as it could be, particularly in terms of redress or compensation procedures. To stop the more efficient spread of fake goods in the future, this study suggests that consumer protection organizations, brand owners, and law enforcement organizations coordinate more closely.

Abstract

The phrase "Ingsun titip tajug lan fakir miskin" is a legendary testament by Sunan Gunung Jati containing profound spiritual and social messages. This testament reflects the foundation of Islamic values in the Indonesian archipelago, which combine religiosity and social concern. In the contemporary context, this message remains relevant as a response to the assessment of the function of mosques and increasing social inequality. This study aims to examine the philosophical and sociological meaning of this phrase and explore its relevance in the development of a civilized and just society in the modern era. In addition, this study also aims to uncover the contribution of Islamic values in the development of an inclusive and religious social character. The method used is a qualitative descriptive with a hermeneutic and historical-cultural approach through literature studies and interpretation of cultural heritage and social practices of the community. The results show that Tajug (mosque) must be understood not only as a place of worship, but also as a center for community empowerment and social advocacy. The conclusion of the study emphasizes the importance of revitalizing Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as a foundation for the development of a religious, just, and local wisdom-based society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Indonesia's humanitarian diplomacy in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the 2023-2024 period, focusing on mediation strategies and the distribution of humanitarian aid. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data analysis sourced from official government documents, reports of international institutions, media publications, and academic literature. The results of the study show that Indonesia consistently plays an active role in humanitarian diplomacy through various international forums such as parliament, the United Nations, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and the Non-Aligned Movement, by combining diplomatic mediation and moral pressure. Real actions in the form of the delivery of medical aid, logistics, field hospitals, and the readiness of peace forces further strengthen Indonesia's position as an important actor in this field. However, the effectiveness of such diplomacy is still hampered by geopolitical factors, vetoes in the UN Security Council, limited access to Gaza, and challenges in the protection of humanitarian facilities. The research recommendations emphasize the need to strengthen cross-sectoral coordination, more intensive global advocacy, international legal protection for humanitarian assets, and public diplomacy to rally global support. These findings contribute to the understanding of the role of humanitarian diplomacy in international conflict resolution and strategies to improve its effectiveness in the future.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in regional economic development, but still face various challenges related to business sustainability amid market uncertainty and global competition. This study aims to analyze the role of collaboration in overcoming MSME challenges through its relationship with competitiveness, business policies, and business sustainability. The study uses a mixed approach, where quantitative data is analyzed using PLS-SEM, while qualitative data is obtained through interviews and focus group discussions (FGD) with MSME actors in Sukabumi Regency. The results show that collaboration and competitiveness have a positive effect on business sustainability, with business policy acting as a mediator that strengthens this relationship. Qualitative findings confirm that collaboration provides tangible benefits in the form of access to resources, innovation, and market networks, while competitiveness is built through product innovation, differentiation, and consistency in quality, which are translated into adaptive business policies. This study contributes to strengthening the Resource-Based View, Dynamic Capability, Stakeholder, and Institutional theories, while also providing practical implications for MSME actors, policymakers, and stakeholders in designing strategies to strengthen MSME sustainability systematically.
