Abstract

Entertainment tax is a significant source of Local Own Revenue (PAD), yet its effectiveness in enhancing PAD varies across different regions. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing entertainment tax revenue and taxpayer compliance, as well as to evaluate the role of tax administration in improving the effectiveness of tax collection. The methodology employed is a literature review, involving an in-depth analysis of theories and previous research findings related to entertainment taxation, taxpayer compliance, and tax administration. The results indicate that taxpayer awareness, transparent tax policies, and efficient tax administration are crucial for optimizing entertainment tax revenue. However, challenges such as low taxpayer compliance and inconsistent policies across regions hinder its potential. The study recommends enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, improving tax administration through digitalization and stricter oversight, and harmonizing tax policies across regions. By implementing these recommendations, it is expected that entertainment tax can contribute more significantly to PAD and support sustainable regional development.

Abstract

Forest destruction will have a major impact on accelerating climate change. The groups most vulnerable to environmental impacts are indigenous communities, who grow and live by relying on forest products. As a country that is implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) concept, forest degradation is a crucial problem, especially in part 15 of the SDGs goals, namely protecting land ecosystems. The parties responsible for this issue are of course every level of society which should strive to preserve nature and become conservation agents. Therefore, there is a need for further discussion regarding the application of local culture in preserving the Kerinci Seblat Park in Kerinci Regency. This research was conducted using qualitative methods relying on primary and secondary data. With data collection techniques such as observation, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that the preservation of the Kerinci Seblat National Park Forest (TNKS) is triggered by local wisdom regarding the myth of prohibiting disturbing the forest which is believed by the local community. People living in mountain forests are an ethnic minority group, possessing a wealth of local knowledge and skills in forest management. By maintaining forests through the help of local wisdom, this helps realize the 15th SDGs goal, namely the balance of terrestrial ecosystems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of employee engagement, competence, and work environment on employee performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at PT. Aerofood Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, involving 235 respondents selected using a non-probability sampling technique with the purposive sampling method. Data were collected through a Likert-scale-based questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of the direct effect test indicate that employee engagement and competence do not significantly affect job satisfaction, while the work environment has a significant effect on job satisfaction. Employee engagement, competence, work environment, and job satisfaction significantly influence employee performance. Based on the path analysis, job satisfaction cannot mediate the effect of employee engagement, competence, and work environment on employee performance. The model analysis shows that the research model falls into the moderate to strong category with medium predictive relevance.

Abstract

The death penalty remains a subject of debate in various countries, including Indonesia. This debate arises from differing perspectives between those who support it for its deterrent effect and justice for victims and those who oppose it based on human rights concerns and the potential for judicial errors. This study aims to analyze the validity of the death penalty in Indonesia as a middle ground in addressing the ongoing debate. The research employs a normative legal method with a statutory and conceptual approach, focusing on the study of Indonesian criminal law regulations and philosophical perspectives on capital punishment. The findings indicate that the implementation of the death penalty in Indonesia remains relevant, considering aspects of justice, legal certainty, and public interest. However, to bridge differing views, a more selective mechanism should be applied, such as alternative sentencing with probation periods or strict clemency provisions. This analysis asserts that maintaining the validity of the death penalty with stricter regulations can serve as a middle ground accommodating various interests. Therefore, policy reforms regarding the death penalty should be continuously reviewed to ensure its implementation aligns with legal principles and human rights.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked debates regarding its legal status, particularly whether AI can be considered a legal subject. This study examines the issue through the lens of existentialist philosophy, which emphasizes freedom, consciousness, and responsibility as fundamental aspects of existence. A qualitative approach is employed, utilizing philosophical analysis of subjectivity and existence based on the thoughts of existentialist figures such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Martin Heidegger. The findings reveal that although AI can act autonomously and mimic human decision-making, it lacks self-awareness and existential freedom. Consequently, from an existentialist perspective, AI does not qualify as a legal subject, as it does not possess authentic existence and moral responsibility. This conclusion underscores that AI's legal status is more appropriately categorized as a legal object with specific regulations rather than an entity with legal rights and obligations

Abstract

This research analyzes strategies and policy innovations in managing natural resources and renewable energy laws in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, this study examines the implemented environmental policies, the roles of central and regional governments, and the challenges in their implementation. The results show that Indonesia has implemented various policies and regulations to support sustainable natural resource management. Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management is the main foundation, followed by its derivative rules. However, policy implementation still faces challenges such as land conflicts, environmental degradation, and overexploitation of natural resources. In the context of renewable energy, the government has issued fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to promote its adoption. Presidential Regulation No. 112 of 2022 is an example of a policy that provides various tax incentives and licensing facilities for renewable energy projects. This study concludes that Indonesia needs a comprehensive and collaborative approach to address challenges and optimize natural resource management and renewable energy development. Recommendations include simplifying bureaucratic procedures, increasing transparency in procurement processes, and strengthening investment guarantee mechanisms to enhance private sector participation in renewable energy infrastructure development

Abstract

Technological advancements and globalization have brought significant transformations to the workplace, creating challenges for Generation Z as they enter the professional world. This generation is known for its unique characteristics, such as a tendency to use digital technology, a preference for work flexibility, and different communication patterns compared to previous generations. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Generation Z in facing workplace dynamics and evaluate their impact on performance. The research uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative method. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 40 respondents from various job sectors who fall into the Generation Z category and have at least one year of work experience. The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression to measure the relationship between adaptation strategies and individual performance. The results show that Generation Z implements several key strategies in dealing with changes in the workplace, such as utilizing digital technology, flexibility in work patterns, skill development through online courses, and building professional networks through social media. Based on statistical analysis, these strategies are proven to have a positive and significant influence on Generation Z's performance, with a correlation value (R = 0.741) and coefficient of determination (R² = 0.550), indicating that 55% of their performance variability can be explained by the adaptation strategies used. The conclusion of this study affirms that Generation Z has a high adaptability to changes in the workplace, especially in leveraging technology and work flexibility. However, they also face several challenges, such as high work pressure and difficulties in cross-generational communication. Therefore, companies are advised to provide a more flexible work environment and technology-based training programs to support the professional development of Generation Z.
