Abstract

The transformation of Islamic media in the digital context shows a significant change in the way information is disseminated and public opinion is formed in Indonesia. After the reform era, the increase in press freedom and technological advances have encouraged the emergence of Islamic-based online media as one of the main communication channels for the people. This research aims to analyze the changes that occur in Islamic media, both in terms of content, platforms, and distribution strategies. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with case studies on several leading Islamic online media in Indonesia. The findings of the study indicate that Islamic media has adapted to digital technology, including the use of social media and mobile applications, to reach a wider audience, especially among the younger generation. This transformation process is characterized by the diversification of content that includes religious, social, economic, and political issues, which is presented with a more inclusive and interactive approach. However, challenges such as polarization of opinions, the spread of misinformation, and the commodification of religion are also issues that need attention. This study concludes that Islamic online media has an important role in shaping Islamic identity and discourse in the digital era, but it is necessary to strengthen journalistic ethics and digital literacy to reduce the negative impact that may arise.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Islamic communication ethics in social interaction between Muslims and Non-Muslims in Karo Regency, which is known as an area with significant religious diversity in Indonesia. The main focus of this study is to explore how the ethical principles of Islamic communication are implemented in everyday social life, particularly in an effort to create harmony and prevent conflicts. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach, which includes in-depth interview techniques, observation, and document analysis. The findings of this study indicate that values such as qaulan ma'rufan (good words), qaulan kariman (noble words), and qaulan layyinan (gentle words) are applied in interactions both between individuals and between communities. The application of these values contributes to an increase in mutual respect, tolerance, and empathy among Muslims and Non-Muslims. However, this study also identifies challenges in the application of communication ethics, such as the emergence of interreligious stereotypes and prejudices that are often caused by cultural differences and religious understanding. The conclusion of this study confirms that the consistent application of Islamic communication ethics can be a crucial foundation in maintaining social cohesion in a multicultural society. The recommendations of this study include the importance of intercultural education and more intensive interfaith dialogue to strengthen social harmony.

Abstract

Non-bank financial institutions, particularly Islamic financing companies, play a strategic role in supporting national economic activities. Islamic Financing Companies, either as fully-fledged companies or Sharia Business Units (UUS), face various complex risk challenges. According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the assets of Islamic financing companies increased significantly from IDR 27.85 trillion (2023) to IDR 33.67 trillion (2024), although their market share remains limited to below 6%. Amid these dynamics, the implementation of risk management becomes a critical element to ensure stability, sustainability, and compliance with Sharia principles. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, analyzing the risks, principles, standards, stages, and strategies of risk management in Islamic financing companies, as well as their practices in the industry. The findings indicate that companies such as PT. Astra Sedaya Finance and PT. Sharia Multifinance Astra have adopted comprehensive risk management strategies, including internal risk control, risk oversight through risk management and compliance functions, and independent internal audits. This approach is integrated with anticipatory measures, such as policy updates, information technology development, human resource empowerment, and the implementation of business continuity plans. By adhering to ISO SNI 31000 standards and OJK regulations, these companies effectively identify, measure, monitor, and manage eight key risks, including strategic, operational, and compliance risks. This study emphasizes that the implementation of integrated and continuous risk management not only strengthens the companies’ competitiveness but also enhances stakeholder confidence in addressing the challenges of the dynamic Islamic financing industry.

Abstract

In the current era, information can be easily spread widely, this is due to advances in information technology, namely new media. This study analyzes the communication style in accordance with the Communicator Style Measure (CSM) theory, on a a doctor in a YouTube video that discusses bullying and depression. The method used is Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, which is a method to find out the denotative and connotative signs in a video show. The results indicate that at the denotation level, bullying is not only physical violence but also verbal, such as teasing that is often taken as a joke. At the connotation level, the term "bullying" reflects domination, social power, and emotional trauma. The doctor adopts a relaxed, informal and expressive communication style to connect with the audience, especially teenagers. The video also exposes the myth that verbal bullying is not serious and that mental health education can only be done by professionals such as psychologists or psychiatrists. With a casual and inclusive approach, doctors are able to deliver educational messages effectively, while challenging the stigma associated with bullying and mental health in society. This research emphasizes the importance of social media as a relevant and adaptive health education tool in the digital age
