Abstract

This study details the design and implementation of a solar-powered Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart waste monitoring system, specifically developed to mitigate the persistent waste management challenges in Lagos, Nigeria. The primary goal was to create an automated, energy-efficient system capable of real-time monitoring of waste bin levels and environmental conditions. The developed prototype utilizes a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, integrating an ultrasonic sensor for waste level detection, an MQ-135 gas sensor for air quality assessment, and a DHT22 sensor for temperature and humidity measurement. The system is sustainably powered by solar energy, maintaining an average charging efficiency of 88% to ensure continuous operation. Real-time data is transmitted to a Firebase cloud database and displayed on a web dashboard, allowing waste management operators to proactively address bin overflows and harmful gas accumulation. Experimental results demonstrated that the system achieved an average accuracy rate of 95% in waste level detection. The findings confirm that IoT integration substantially enhances waste management efficiency, reduces the need for manual collection, and promotes sustainability through renewable energy use. The research concludes that combining IoT and solar technology offers a reliable, low-cost, and eco-friendly solution for urban waste management in energy-limited settings. The successful deployment in Lagos underscores its high scalability potential for other developing cities, contributing directly to the relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Future work is recommended to incorporate machine learning for predictive collection optimization.

Abstract

Air Conditioner AC is a form of technological advancement in air conditioning The consumption of AC in society is also very high at 48 using AC for 8 12 hours per day This data is according to the Indonesian Consumers Foundation YLKI There are many factors behind this very long use In this article try to see the AC factor that has not efficiently obtained the temperature setpoint value causing excessive use When the AC gets the setpoint from the remote control The actuator component in the form of a Peltier will work to achieve that value This design will be carried out in order to create a PID control that performs tuning with the Fuzzy Mamdani method in order to obtain the appropriate PID coefficient value The test results from the Self Tuning PID controller have a faster steady state time in all tests In each test of the fixed reference value The test of the changing reference value and the test with the disturbance signal in the form of a step Self Tuning PID have a faster time of 6 273 s 3 364s and 5 4545s respectively For the performance evaluation index the Self Tuning PID controller tends to have smaller ISE IAE and ITAE values in each test compared to the existing PID controller < strong>< p>

Abstract

Abstrak Penggunaan pestisida secara manual pada tanaman hortikultura seperti kubis sering menimbulkan masalah efisiensi waktu ketidakakuratan penyemprotan serta risiko kesehatan bagi petani Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi Internet of Things IoT diperlukan inovasi sistem semprot otomatis yang mampu meningkatkan efektivitas penyemprotan dan mengurangi paparan bahan kimia secara langsung Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan alat penyemprotan pestisida otomatis berbasis IoT menggunakan sensor ultrasonik HC SR04 dan mikrokontroler NodeMCU ESP8266 yang terintegrasi dengan aplikasi Blynk sebagai kontrol jarak jauh Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan rekayasa eksperimental meliputi perancangan sistem perakitan komponen dan pengujian kinerja sensor relay pompa serta komunikasi data Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sensor HC SR04 memiliki akurasi tinggi dengan deviasi rata rata 0 18 cm pompa bekerja optimal dalam rentang jarak 10 20 cm dan aplikasi Blynk mampu memberikan kontrol responsif dengan waktu tunda kurang dari 1 detik Evaluasi oleh ahli menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan sistem sebesar 92 Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa sistem penyemprotan pestisida otomatis berbasis IoT dapat berfungsi efektif dan fleksibel untuk mendukung pertanian presisi Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah potensi penerapan teknologi serupa dalam skala yang lebih luas guna meningkatkan produktivitas dan keamanan pertanian di era digital < p>

Abstract

The development of Tomohon City as a tourism hub in North Sulawesi has accelerated significantly triggering a surge in economic activities and consequently increasing the demand for electrical energy This study aims to analyze the relationship between economic growth and electricity consumption in Tomohon City identifying the implications for energy infrastructure planning A descriptive survey method was employed using secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency and PT PLN Data on electricity supply and economic indicators such as Gross Regional Domestic Product GRDP were presented in tables graphs and diagrams to illustrate growth patterns from 2010 to 2021 Findings reveal that both electricity consumption and installed capacity have increased steadily with electricity sales rising from 38 4 GWh in 2014 to 48 3 GWh in 2020 and customer numbers increasing from 24 575 to 29 770 over five years Economic indicators such as GRDP also showed consistent growth particularly in the tourism trade and accommodation sectors The average annual growth in electricity production was 4 68 highlighting the need for proactive energy planning The study concludes that the economic development of Tomohon City is positively correlated with rising electricity demands It recommends that stakeholders including PT PLN and local government bodies develop anticipatory infrastructure strategies to ensure sustainable energy supply particularly as tourism continues to expand This research provides critical insight into aligning energy provision with regional economic development priorities < p>

Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi pendidikan menuntut adanya inovasi pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kualitas hasil belajar siswa khususnya di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan SMK yang menekankan penguasaan kompetensi vokasional Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model blended learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar Dasar Teknik Ketenagalistrikan di SMK Negeri 3 Tondano Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent control group design Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas X Program Keahlian Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik masing masing 30 siswa Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan blended learning yang memadukan pembelajaran daring menggunakan aplikasi Quizizz dan pembelajaran tatap muka sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen Rata rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 82 50 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 73 10 Analisis N Gain juga menunjukkan peningkatan lebih besar pada kelas eksperimen 0 57 dibanding kontrol 0 35 Selain itu persentase ketercapaian KKM pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 90 lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol yang hanya 60 Hasil uji t test menunjukkan signifikansi 0 000 lt; 0 05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan blended learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa Temuan penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa blended learning mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar memperluas ketercapaian kompetensi serta mendorong pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan fleksibel Implikasi penelitian ini adalah blended learning dapat direkomendasikan sebagai strategi pembelajaran inovatif untuk memperkuat kualitas pendidikan vokasi di era digital < p>

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran berbasis masalah Problem Based Learning PBL dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi Sistem Proteksi Instalasi Motor Listrik di kelas XI TITL SMK Negeri 3 Tondano Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh rendahnya hasil belajar dan keterampilan praktik siswa akibat dominasi metode konvensional yang kurang melibatkan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah nyata Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent control group design melibatkan dua kelas berjumlah 48 siswa Kelas eksperimen diajar menggunakan model PBL sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan metode konvensional Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar lembar observasi keterampilan dan angket motivasi Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t dan perhitungan N Gain Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen 85 21 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol 73 75 dengan perbedaan signifikan p lt; 0 05 Nilai N Gain sebesar 0 67 menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar kategori sedang tinggi Aspek psikomotor siswa kelas eksperimen juga lebih baik rata rata 88 9 dibandingkan kontrol 78 6 dan motivasi belajar meningkat dengan rata rata 87 3 Temuan penelitian mengonfirmasi bahwa penerapan PBL tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual tetapi juga memperkuat keterampilan praktik dan motivasi belajar siswa Implikasinya PBL dapat dijadikan strategi pembelajaran efektif di SMK untuk mengintegrasikan teori dan praktik serta mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja teknis secara lebih mandiri dan kompeten < p>

Abstract

Developing telecommunications infrastructure is vital for national advancement improving connectivity to accelerate information flow and access to public services Effective base station planning prioritizes maximizing network coverage in densely populated areas However traditional visualization methods often fall short in identifying regions with the highest population density This study addresses this gap by applying a sector expansion algorithm to select optimal base station locations within the most densely populated sectors achieving more balanced network coverage Using Indonesia s population data and administrative boundaries optimal base station locations are determined with DBSCAN and K Means clustering algorithms The network s reach is then enhanced through sector expansion to increase coverage in areas with high population density by selecting new base station locations based on the densest sector around a primary station The candidate station is positioned at a distance of three quarters of twice the radius of the primary station optimizing coverage while remaining close to existing network resources The evaluation compares population coverage before and after sector expansion assessing connectivity between base stations and distribution efficiency Results show that sector expansion increased population coverage on Lombok Island from 15 94 to 99 14 with the most populated base station covering up to 34 274 people enhancing distribution efficiency < p>

Abstract

If you want to fully understand the ecosystem surrounding AI driven robotics in pediatric neurorehabilitation you need to carefully look at many interconnected aspects and think critically about what they mean We address this review to facilitate an in depth analysis of the effective integration of advanced technologies such as artificial emotional intelligence and interactive reinforcement learning into rehabilitation practices By critically assessing each element from the psychological dynamics of patient engagement to the technical intricacies of real time adaptive learning systems we can better understand their pivotal roles in enhancing therapeutic efficacy Moreover the inclusion of natural language processing and facial expression analysis warrants careful consideration as it sets the stage for more nuanced interactions between robots and pediatric patients thereby fostering a therapeutic environment that is both responsive and empathetic A thorough examination not only highlights the potential benefits but also the ethical and practical challenges associated with these technologies By putting these different parts into a critical framework we ensure that we have a complete picture of the opportunities and limitations in this new field Our ultimate goal is to improve rehabilitation outcomes for kids with neurological problems while keeping an eye out for any unintended effects < p>

Abstract

Abstrak< strong> Pembelajaran jarak jauh yang tertata baik adalah yang menggunakan learning management system LMS LMS tidak hanya bermanfaat sebagai pembelajaran jarak jauh di masa pandemi Covid 19 tetapi juga untuk aplikasi blended learning dalam kondisi normal Ada banyak platform LMS tapi yang sering digunakan sekarang oleh dosen adalah Moodle dan Google Classroom Kemampuan mereka dalam menangani LMS memengaruhi keefektifan pengajaran mereka Setiap platform LMS berbeda dalam hal antarmuka pengguna dan fungsionalitas yang dapat diakses Dosen butuh pengetahuan dan waktu untuk menguasai penggunaan LMS Latar belakang pendidikan dan usia dosen memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan aplikasi LMS Jadi jenis platform LMS tingkat pendidikan dan usia dosen semuanya memengaruhi kesuksesan instruksional Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dan perbandingan antara ketiga kelompok tersebut Kelompok platform LMS meliputi Moodle dan Google Classroom kelompok kualifikasi pendidikan meliputi gelar master dan doktor dan kelompok usia meliputi mereka yang berusia di bawah 45 tahun dan mereka yang berusia di atas 45 tahun Penelitian menggunakan Anova 3 jalur yang mengungkapkan bahwa ketiga kelompok tersebut memiliki efek interaksi sebesar 74 1 terhadap keberhasilan instruksi mereka < p>
