Abstract

Fish containing mercury will have a bad impact on the health of the human body. The maximum limit of mercury levels in fish that has been determined by SNI (2009) on fish is 0.5 mg/kg. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of mercury (Hg) metal contamination in several types of freshwater fish, namely catfish (Clariasgariepinus), catfish (Pangsiushypophthalmus), tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus), tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), pomfret (Colossomamacropomum) and giant prawn (Macrobrachiumrosenbergii), by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Quantitative analysis of mercury used atomic absorption spectrophotometry (Shimadzu AA-6200). Measured at a wavelength of 253.7 nm. The results of this study were white pomfret containing mercury with levels of 0.2043 -+ 0.0079 mg/kg, catfish containing mercury with levels of 0.4116 -+ 0.1105 mg/kg, catfish containing mercury with levels of 0.4088 -+ 0.1076 mg/kg, tilapia fish contains mercury with levels of 0.4034 -+ 0.1443 mg/kg, tilapia fish contains mercury with levels of 0.4191 -+ 0.0750 mg/kg, and giant prawns contain mercury with levels of 0, 3928 -+ 0.0521 mg/kg. The calculation results show that all types of fresh water fish contain mercury <0.5 in accordance with the requirements set by SNI No.7387 (2009) on fish, namely 0.5 mg/kg.

Abstract

Green apple syrup (Pyrus malus) has a shelf life that is influenced by the amount of added sugar because sugar given to a product with high levels can increase high osmotic pressure so that it can prevent microbial growth so that the material will be durable. This study aims to determine the taste, aroma, pH, color, and presence of fungi in green apple syrup (Pyrus malus) with the addition of sugar 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% and the effect of adding sugar concentration 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% to the resistance of green apple syrup (Pyrus malus). The type of research used is experimental research. The sample used was green apple (Pyrus malus) with a variation of sugar 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% with the addition of citric acid to prevent the browning reaction. The results showed that sugar concentrations of 40% and 70% had a good shelf life for 28 days and green apple syrup (Pyrus malus) with sugar concentrations of 50% and 60% had a shelf life of green apple syrup (Pyrus malus) for 10 days with the moldy condition.

Abstract

Cambodian flower (Plumeria acuminata L.) contains antioxidant and antibacterial properties, namely flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and glycosides. Kanboja flower ethanol extract (EEBK) was formulated into cream preparations because it tends to be more desirable and more efficient in its use. The research objectives were to formulate frangipani flower ethanol extract as cream soap and to test its activity against acne-causing bacteria. The research methods included: phytochemical screening, simplicia characterization of frangipani flowers, maceration of ethanol extract of frangipani flowers with 96% ethanol solvent, test activity of extracts against acne-causing bacteria by agar diffusion, formulation of cream preparations, test activity of preparations against acne-causing bacteria by diffusion agar. , and evaluation of preparations included: organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, physical stability test, emulsion type test, viscosity test, and irritation test on volunteers. Based on the research results, phytochemical screening of EEBK and frangipani flower simplicia powder has active compounds such as: alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids and glycosides. The results of the simplicia characterization of frangipani flowers have a water content of 7.99%, a water-soluble extract content of 26.22%, and an ethanol-soluble extract content of 10.57%. The cream evaluation results in the pH test ranged from 6.0 to 6.1, the viscosity test was between 208-226 mPas, and the physical stability test for 35 days did not change in color, smell, and shape. while the test results of antibacterial activity of the cream on the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes formula I with a concentration of 5% did not produce an inhibition zone, formula II with a concentration of 10% produced an inhibition zone of 8.95 mm -+ 3.79 and formula III with a concentration of 15% produced an inhibition zone of 15, 35 mm -+ 2.59. The conclusion of all the evaluation test results above meet the requirements according to the Indonesian National Standard (1994)

Abstract

Plants with various varieties can be found in various regions in Indonesia. Many varieties of medicinal plants in Indonesia have been used as raw materials to manufacture drugs. Some of these plants have been clinically evaluated for their phytochemical composition, efficacy, and safety to use. Bidara leaves, scientifically known as Zizhipus mauritiana L., are often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat several ailments, such as urinary problems, indigestion, fever, liver complaints, weakness, anemia, obesity, diabetes, bronchitis, skin infections, loss of appetite, eating, pharyngitis, diarrhea, cancer, and insomnia. Reference libraries obtained from the search results are then studied and examined to determine research findings, then described using data or samples collected. From research and literature studies, bidara leaves have many uses, namely, as an anti-microbial agent, an analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer, and can protect body cells such as the kidneys and brain from oxidative stress, which can cause cancer.
