Abstract

MSMEs are the backbone of the economy in many countries, including Indonesia. In facing increasingly fierce competition and dynamic changes in the business environment, the preparation of financial reports is important for MSME players. The purpose of holding this community service activity is to help MSMEs in optimizing the use of information technology to manage business finances. This training activity was held at the Sepanjang Village Office in July 2023. The method used in this training was the lecture method and practice using applications. The training results showed that all MSME actors present were able to compile simple financial reports using the Buku Warung application. Through the preparation of these simple financial reports, MSME actors can make better business decisions than before.

Abstract

This community service aims to help improve the empowerment of the Merpati Pos Sports Association (POMP) community in Sleman Regency, known as Sembada Sleman POMP through mentoring on good financial management. The implementation of the activity begins with (1) identifying and understanding the business processes that exist in this community, (2) the practice of financial recording that has been carried out so far, (3) evaluating the process of financial recording and the use of financial information as a basis for evaluation and planning, and (4) recommendations in the form of SOP proposals for financial records and the use of financial information as a basis for evaluation and planning activities. The results achieved from this community service are to develop Excel software for the SEMBADA SLEMAN POMP community so that they can make financial reports quickly and accountably and use financial information as material for evaluation and activity planning. The recommendation for the SEMBADA SLEMAN POMP community is to use the software in compiling financial reports. Servants will always be ready to assist when experiencing difficulties.

Abstract

Community Service (PkM) is one of the tridharma pillars of higher education. Lecturers are required to carry out the tri dharma of higher education, which consists of education or teaching, research, and community service. This article carries the theme of a community service program, which is about English language training for students from eastern Indonesia who are studying at a private university in the city of Salatiga, Central Java. More precisely, these students came from NTT, Lombok, and Papua. This program takes place from October to December 2022. The training was held offline and was attended by five (5) students. They lived in a dorm and were under the care of a foundation named Yayasan Komunitas Cahaya Indonesia. In general, all the activities ran well and smoothly.

Abstract

This article reports a community service program held by the Master’s Program in English Language Education at the Faculty of Language Arts, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana, in collaboration with the Salatiga Education Department. The program was in the form of teachers’ training about best practices of implementing the Merdeka Belajar curriculum in the English language teaching and learning practices. Thirty-six (36) English teachers in junior high schools in Salatiga participated in this training from July 31 – August 1, 2023. There were five main sessions in the training, namely (1) critical thinking and Merdeka belajar, (2) differentiated instruction in the ELT contexts/EFL classrooms, (3) digital text-based learning for teaching English in secondary schools, (4) best practices in technology-enhanced language learning, and (5) the implementation of Merdeka Belajar curriculum: A reflection. Brief descriptions of what the presenters discussed in each of their sessions, directions for future community service programs, and research are presented.

Abstract

The management of the board of KAMESADHA for the 2021–2024 period was definitively established during a mechanism of general election. In a particular mission, the board should enhance the communication, synergy, and collaboration among the stakeholders, i.e. alumni and the university. The present work elaborates a statistical quantification on the ideas of the members of KAMESADHA regarding how important the alumni gathering is. A typical result reveals an annual gathering concerning the corresponding synergy is suggested.

Abstract

This community service program aims to introduce English vocabulary learning among early childhood or children in the Kindergarten/TPA of Balle Village. The teaching method used in this activity is through the Fun English Learning method, which means teaching English to children who have a fun English learning concept. It includes learning activities using songs and games. The results of this program show that the participants have started to have fun learning English and that students' vocabulary and understanding of English vocabulary have increased compared to the beginning of the meeting. Even though there are still mistakes, they have started to be confident and don't feel ashamed.

Abstract

Child counseling is an attempt to assist children individually for guiding and helping them directly so that they can open them up and develop to be a sound person psychologically, personally and spiritually. The personal approach is required so that children to be open and understand their life experiences in order that they may find joy and develop their confidence. In addition to personal approach, some works to foster their self-confidence and joy are carried out by doing their daily duties and responsibilities, developing talents and providing adequate spiritual support. This social service attempts to provide both personal and group assistance so that the orphanage children can grow optimally and can prepare their better future.

Abstract

A robot is a technology that is currently developing rapidly. Robot technology is a technology that applies multi-disciplinary science. This service activity aims to introduce robot technology to high school/equivalent students so that they can apply and implement science, informatics, and mathematics that have been obtained in high school lessons. The method used in this training is to provide intensive assistance and training to the trainee students. It is hoped that with the method used, high school students can more easily find simple robot technology and apply it to the robot that will be made. In this training, students will be introduced to Line Follower Robot technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to socialize village transportation development innovations through WhatsApp-based online motorcycle taxis in Galang Tinggi Village, Banyuasin III. The benefit of this activity is that people's understanding of technology can be applied to village transportation needs, at least it can provide an alternative in facilitating access to accelerating the economy and continuity of community in the village. The method of implementing the activity is in two stages, coordinating with the Head of Galang Tinggi Village to obtain an overview and initial data regarding the geographic profile and conditions, village demographics and digital capabilities of community members. The second stage is implementing socialization on the use of WhatsApp social media as an information medium for online motorcycle taxis to facilitate public transportation. This activity provides knowledge and understanding as well as an enthusiastic attitude to initiate business opportunities for online motorcycle taxi transportation services. This activity is very important in efforts to achieve early progress in digital society. The hope is that people can take advantage of digital means to create business opportunities that can reach a wider market and are cost efficient.

Abstract

Lipid profile examination including total cholesterol level, triglycerides level and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol reduction is essential to be done as a routine activity quinquennially to prevent someone from the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and obesity. This kind of examination is mandatory for the elderly people to maintain their quality of life. In order to support the government program on the prevention of the cardiovascular diseases, a team of social service of Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Sanata Dharma (FFUSD) was organizing an event of lipid profile examination in one of Christian church located in Kalasan, Yogyakarta. As many as 35 elderly people were enthusiastically participating on the event. A nurse from Poliklinik Sanata Dharma was appointed to take the blood samples, which were further taken to the Biochemistry Laboratory in FFUSD to get analysed. The results were sent to the participants in private. The overall blood lipid profiles of most participants showed good level of quality, indicating that they have been trying to manage their life healthily. However, as much as 62. 8% of participants showed a low level of the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.  This was believed due to the food intake which was still rich in oil and fat.  The event was very succesful and the responses were very positive. The participants felt assisted with a fast and accurate results sent.
