Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implications of violating children's privacy in using social media on mental health in elementary schools. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with research subjects selected through purposive sampling from elementary school students who actively use social media. Data was collected through observations and in-depth interviews with parents, teachers and students to understand their experiences regarding social media use and its impact on mental health. Data analysis was carried out by identifying the main patterns and themes that emerged from the results of observations and interviews. The conclusions of this study indicate that privacy violations on social media have a significant negative impact on children's mental health, including anxiety, depression, and decreased self-confidence. Cooperation between parents, teachers and authorities is necessary to protect children's privacy and their mental health.

Abstract

This research analyzes the gender gap in access to education and women's empowerment in the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community assisted by Pundi Sumatera. Using descriptive qualitative method, this research explores various internal and external factors that affect the limited access, participation, control, and benefits of education for women in this community. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and review of related documents. The results show that patriarchal cultural factors, domestication of women, and lack of awareness of the importance of education are the main barriers to access and participation of SAD women in education. In addition, external factors such as limited policies that support the education of indigenous communities and the lack of collaboration between the government and community organizations also exacerbate this gap. These findings are contextualized with previous studies, which show similar patterns in other indigenous communities in Indonesia. This study recommends the need for more inclusive community-based policies, alternative education programs that respect local cultural values, and increased synergy between the government, non-governmental organizations and SAD communities to improve access and quality of education for women.

Abstract

Public understanding of sexual violence remains limited, with a prevailing tendency to position women as the primary victims, while men are rarely considered as a vulnerable group. This study aims to analyze the perspectives of students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Brawijaya regarding cases of sexual violence experienced by men, as well as to examine how social constructions, cultural values, religious teachings, and educational systems shape such perceptions. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed by distributing online questionnaires via Google Forms. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, with the criteria of being active FISIP students who voluntarily and anonymously participated in the study. The findings indicate that most respondents acknowledged that men can also be victims of sexual violence. However, this awareness is often hindered by stereotypes of masculinity, social pressures to always appear strong, and the limited academic discourse on this issue. Conversely, religious and ethical values are perceived as essential moral foundations to support the protection of all victims, regardless of gender. This study highlights the urgency of implementing inclusive and gender-sensitive education to foster a safe, just, and responsive campus environment against all forms of sexual violence.

Abstract

The concept of gender equality in Islam is frequently misunderstood, either by those who perceive Islam as restricting women’s roles or by those who advocate absolute equality without acknowledging inherent differences. This study examines the active roles of men and women in Islam through a thematic exegesis of QS. An-Nisa (4):32 and QS. At-Taubah (9):71, using Fathul Karim Mukhtashar Tafsir as the primary reference. The findings demonstrate that Islam upholds equality between men and women in matters of faith and the rewards of good deeds, while simultaneously guiding them to fulfill roles consistent with Islamic teachings. Women are granted opportunities to participate in diverse spheres of life, including social engagement and da’wah, provided such activities remain within the framework of religious principles. However, the implementation of this concept faces challenges, particularly due to the pervasive influence of patriarchal culture. Consequently, a comprehensive understanding rooted in authoritative exegesis, supported by appropriate policies, is essential to promote the just and balanced application of Islamic values.

Abstract

This observational study aims to describe the implementation of health and hygiene at TK Aisyiyah Pucangan 1 Sukoharjo. The study focuses on the cleanliness of the school environment, the practice of clean and healthy living behaviours (PHBS), and the availability of sanitation facilities and health-supporting infrastructure. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The results of the study show that the institution has consistently applied hygiene standards. The school environment appears well-maintained, classrooms are well-organized, and students are accustomed to practicing clean living behaviours through teacher guidance in daily activities. However, some aspects still need improvement, such as the availability of handwashing soap, which is not always consistently maintained, and the first aid kit equipment, which is not yet fully complete.  These findings emphasize the need to strengthen sanitation facilities and health services to optimally support the habit of healthy living behaviours (PHBS) in early childhood education environments.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the 14th episode of the Merdeka Campus Curriculum policy in preventing sexual violence at Islamic religious higher education institutions in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach through literature reviews and in-depth interviews, the study identifies key challenges in policy implementation, including a lack of socialization, insufficient trained human resources, and cultural resistance. The findings indicate that while the policy provides a solid foundation for creating safe campus environments, its implementation requires significant improvements. Education based on moral values, strengthening specialized service units, and engaging all campus stakeholders are the primary recommendations. This research is expected to contribute practical insights toward fostering a more inclusive and responsive campus environment regarding sexual violence issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze various problems and solutions in the implementation of inclusive education in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions through a literature review method. Inclusive education in PAUD is an effort to provide fair and equal educational services for all children, including children with special needs. However, its implementation in the field still faces many obstacles, such as limited teacher competency, lack of facilities and infrastructure, low parental support, and suboptimal institutional policies. This study collected and analyzed ten national and international scientific articles related to the implementation of inclusion in PAUD. The results of the study indicate that the main problems lie in the aspects of human resources and policy, while the proposed solutions include improving teacher competency, strengthening collaboration between teachers and parents, and policy support from the government and educational institutions. Thus, inclusive education in PAUD can be implemented more effectively through synergy between the various parties involved.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) among young adults. ACEs refers to negative and potentially traumatic events in childhood, including abuse, neglect, and family dysfunction, which may shape emotional development and influence interpersonal relationships later in life. Meanwhile, IPV encompasses physical, psychological, and sexual violence, as well as controlling behaviours occurring within intimate relationships. This research employed a quantitative correlational design using purposive sampling, involving 318 young adult respondents. Data were collected using the ACEs questionnaire and the Conflict Tactics Scale 2 (CTS2). The data analysis consisted of normality testing, linearity testing, Spearman correlation analysis, and nonparametric difference tests using the Mann–Whitney and Kruskal–Wallis tests due to the non-normal distribution of data. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between ACEs and IPV (ρ = 0.366; p < 0.001), suggesting that higher levels of childhood trauma are associated with a greater likelihood of experiencing intimate partner violence. Additionally, most respondents fell into the moderate categories of both ACEs (73.6%) and IPV (53.8%). These findings highlight the long-term impact of childhood adversity on romantic relationships and underscore the importance of trauma-informed prevention efforts.

Abstract

The dynamics of family communication play an important role in shaping children's understanding of gender equality, especially in the context of a society that still internalizes traditional gender stereotypes. Parents often unconsciously reproduce gender biases through everyday interactions, both verbally and through the division of domestic tasks. This study aims to analyse the influence of family communication patterns on the formation of children's understanding of gender equality, as well as to identify forms of family communication that support or hinder this understanding. The method used is a literature review of Indonesian research in the last five years related to family communication and gender socialization.  The study results indicate that open, dialogic, empathetic, and stereotype-free communication enhances children's understanding of gender equality. Conversely, authoritarian, rigid communication, as well as inconsistencies between words and actions, tend to perpetuate unequal gender patterns. These findings emphasize the importance of family communication practices that are inclusive and gender sensitive as a foundation for internalizing the values of equality from an early age.
