Abstract

This study explores how middle school children view gender roles in the family and how these views affect their interactions with other family members. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation in several junior high schools in urban areas. The results of the study show that the traditional perception of the role of the father as the main breadwinner and the mother as the housekeeper is still very strong among children. However, there are also indications of a shift in views towards gender equality, especially in more modern family settings and in schools that promote gender equality. Mass media has also been found to have a great influence in shaping children's views on gender roles. These findings underscore the importance of education about gender equality from an early age and the role of parents, educators, and the media in shaping a more inclusive and equitable view of children. The implications of this study show the need for educational programs and social policies that support gender equality to create an environment conducive to children's development.

Abstract

Receptive language ability development is a crucial foundation in early childhood education that requires special attention. This study explores the potential of music and singing as educational instruments to enhance children's linguistic skills. The primary objective of the study is to analyze the contribution of singing methods in optimizing children's ability to comprehend and respond to verbal information. The research methodology employs a Classroom Action Research approach with a systematic design encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The study was conducted on a group of children aged 5-6 years, utilizing data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and language ability development measurement. Research findings demonstrate significant progress in children's receptive language capabilities. During the pre-intervention phase, children's language capacity was at a basic level with an achievement percentage of 32.81%. After gradual implementation of the singing method, a capability enhancement was observed. The first cycle recorded an increase to 55.21%, and in the second cycle, it reached 82.30% with a very good developmental qualification. The research findings underscore the effectiveness of singing as an innovative educational method. This approach is not merely entertainment but creates a conducive learning environment for linguistic capability stimulation. Music and singing have proven capable of bridging children's language comprehension process through enjoyable and meaningful experiences.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the need to instill self-regulation in early childhood to control children's minds in learning activities and emotions and instill behavior control in friends in their environment. If it can be instilled, then autistic children can concentrate on learning. The learning process so far is rarely done on children if they do not like the activity or the subject matter they are studying. This research aims to find out how to foster self-regulation in autistic children. This research is descriptive-qualitative, while the data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation to find answers to the problems raised. The conclusion is instilling Self Regulation in autistic children by providing positive reinforcement in learning autistic children, stimulating responsive language skills, and practicing the expressive language in children, which can help them become individuals who are independent, responsible, and able to manage emotions and behavior. , and daily tasks effectively. This research has an update that focuses more on autistic children, namely developing self-regulation by providing guidance and appropriate behavior models to help children practice and strengthen their self-regulation skills.

Abstract

This study investigates fathers’ unique contributions to the cognitive and emotional development of young children a dimension of early childhood education often overshadowed by maternal-focused research. It examines the evolving role of fathers from traditional authority figures to responsive play partners, the adaptive interaction strategies they employ, and the developmental outcomes of their engagement. Using a qualitative exploratory case study design, data were collected from 12 purposively selected fathers in Teluk Rendah Pasar Village, Tebo Regency, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Thematic analysis validated through source triangulation (fathers, mothers, and children) revealed three major findings. First, fathers experienced a meaningful transformation toward emotionally engaged and pedagogically responsive caregivers. Second, they developed adaptive strategies emphasizing intentional quality time, play integration into daily routines, and symbolic family rituals such as “Saturday morning adventures.” Third, paternal play fostered children’s cognitive growth (problem-solving, focus) and socioemotional competence (self-regulation, confidence, and social skills). These findings highlight the educational significance of paternal play as a catalyst for holistic child development and call for father-education initiatives and family-friendly workplace policies that support sustained paternal engagement in early learning.

Abstract

Performance Test (UKIN) is a mandatory requirement for teachers participating in the PPG program, which involves planning, implementing, and evaluating learning activities according to lesson plans (RPP) for the subjects they teach, utilizing digital-based learning media. Therefore, thorough preparation is essential before teachers in the PPG program take the Performance Test (UKIN). The purpose of this community service activity is to equip teachers participating in the PPG program to face the Performance Test (UKIN) at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. This training activity employs the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. This approach serves as the strategy used in the training, targeting PPG program teachers as participants who inherently possess pedagogical competence, teaching experience, and smartphones as their assets. The results of this community service indicate that participants were able to understand how to use the InShot application as a medium for creating teaching videos. Participants not only learned the basic features of the InShot application but were also able to practice video editing, including cutting, adding text, audio, transitions, and saving the final output. Therefore, this training directly contributes to improving the readiness of PPG teachers in facing the Performance Test (UKIN).
