Abstract

Globally, there are more than 1,400 cases of pneumonia per 100,000 children, or equivalent to 1 case in every 71 children per year. The highest incidence rates are recorded in South Asia (2,500 cases per 100,000 children) and West and Central Africa (1,620 cases per 100,000 children). Meanwhile, in Indonesia, based on the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, the number of toddlers with pneumonia reached 86,364 cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and pneumonia prevention behaviours in toddlers at the Harapan dan Doa Regional General Hospital in Bengkulu City in 2026.The research method used was descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 62 mothers of infants at Harapan and Doa Regional General Hospital in Bengkulu City in 2026.The results of the univariate analysis showed that most of the respondents (53.2%) had adequate knowledge and most of the respondents (66.1%) had good pneumonia prevention behaviour in infants. The results of the bivariate chi-square test analysis showed a relationship between mothers' knowledge and preventive behaviour against pneumonia in toddlers at the Harapan dan Doa Regional General Hospital in Bengkulu City in 2026 (p-value 0.000). There is a relationship between mothers' knowledge and preventive behaviour against pneumonia in toddlers at the Harapan dan Doa Regional General Hospital in Bengkulu City in 2026.The researchers recommend that hospitals use this information as additional material to improve and develop information about pneumonia.

Abstract

Sleep quality is a basic need that greatly affects children's cognitive functions, especially their concentration in learning. Sleep disturbances can cause fatigue, decreased attention, and difficulty in focusing during the learning process. This study aims to determine the relationship between sleep quality and children's concentration in learning at SMP Negeri 18 Kota Bengkulu in 2025. This study used a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of all 314 ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 18 Kota Bengkulu, with a sample size of 76 respondents selected using the Slovin formula and proportional stratified random sampling technique. The research instruments used the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to measure sleep quality and a learning concentration questionnaire. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of the univariate test analysis showed that most respondents had poor sleep quality (60 or 78.9%), and a small number of respondents had poor learning concentration (18 or 23.7%). The results of the bivariate analysis show a significant relationship between sleep quality and learning concentration among students at SMP Negeri 18 Kota Bengkulu with a P value of 0.012. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between sleep quality and learning concentration among children. Therefore, it is hoped that the school can provide education on the importance of quality sleep, and students are expected to be able to apply healthy sleeping habits to support concentration and optimal learning processes.

Within the frameworl of Islamic, elementary pedagogy, the application of CQI is essential to enhance learning quality that is adaptive to digital technological developments. This study employs a qualitative approach through conductinga literature review and performing a conceptual analysis of technology-based learning practices. The results reveal that the implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) can foster a quality culture by integrating technology into the learning process, improving teachers’ competencies, utilizing interactive digital media, and conducting continuous data-based evaluations. Furthermore, leadership support, infrastructure availability, and the active participation of all school stakeholders are key factors for successful CQI implementation.
