Abstract

The transformation of cultural heritage into educational tourism presents a unique opportunity to not only preserve time-honored traditions but also stimulate local economies. This endeavor, however, demands nuanced strategies that carefully balance the need for authenticity with the imperative of accessibility. The "Bokor-Making Demonstration" initiative in Desa Bresela exemplifies such an effort, aiming to convert the traditional craft of bokor making into an engaging and immersive educational experience for visitors. This initiative holds promise for promoting a deeper cultural understanding and offering tangible economic benefits to the local community. Realizing this potential, however, requires meticulous planning and execution, ensuring that the educational component is both informative and respectful of the cultural heritage (Munjal, 2019). The demonstration must strive to foster a genuine appreciation for the craftsmanship and cultural significance of bokor-making, while also catering to the needs and interests of diverse visitors. This delicate balance is essential for creating a sustainable and mutually beneficial model of heritage tourism that enriches both the local community and the visiting public.

Abstract

The program was initiated in response to the challenges faced by Ayodya Pala, a traditional arts foundation, in adapting to the digital transformation, particularly regarding the use of social media for artistic promotion and the protection of intellectual property rights. The project began with a needs assessment through interviews and discussions with the foundation’s trainers and management, followed by the development of context-based materials focusing on digital literacy, ethical communication, and copyright awareness. The core activity consisted of a one-day session involving 27 participants, delivered through lectures and participatory discussions. The first session covered key concepts of digital literacy, including ethical behavior in online spaces, digital citizenship, and strategic use of social media. The second session addressed digital rights and responsibilities, emphasizing copyright as a fundamental aspect of digital culture, especially in the context of sharing and producing creative content. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding: 92% reported better comprehension of digital literacy, and 100% recognized the importance of copyright in digital environments. While only 37% of participants had previously applied copyright protection practices, many expressed a new awareness and commitment to attribution and ethical content sharing. This program successfully laid a foundation for a more responsible and informed digital presence within the traditional arts community and highlighted the need for further support in the form of practical digital capacity-building initiatives..

Abstract

Monograph writing is an important skill for final year students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) to complete their final project and contribute to the science of education. However, many PGSD students do not have sufficient skills in writing monographs according to academic standards. Therefore, this training aims to improve the ability of PGSD Unmul students in writing quality monographs with a practical and theoretical approach. This training was attended by 40 final year students of PGSD Unmul. Before the training, an initial test was carried out to measure students' understanding in writing monographs, including writing techniques, argument preparation, and the use of appropriate references. The results of the initial test showed that only 30% of students had understood the basics of monograph writing, while the rest still had difficulty in compiling systematic scientific writing. After the training, students take a final test to evaluate their skill improvement. As a result, 80% of participants showed a better understanding of monograph writing, especially in structuring arguments and using references appropriately. This training is expected to help PGSD Unmul students complete their final projects with better quality and enrich their scientific writing skills according to the needs of the world of education. In addition, the improved skills are expected to enrich the references and teaching materials used by lecturers at PGSD, as well as improve the quality of education at the elementary level.

Abstract

Primary health care in Indonesia, especially in regions like Papua, faces major challenges in managing accurate, complete, and timely health data. At Puskesmas Kanda, data management is still done manually or semi-digitally using basic Microsoft Excel, which causes the recording and reporting process to be slow and error-prone. This condition has a negative impact on the quality of reports and data-based decision making by the management of the Puskesmas and the Health Office, contrary to the mandate of Permenkes No. 31 of 2019 concerning Health Information Systems. The purpose of this Community Service (PkM) activity is to increase the capacity of health workers at the Kanda Health Center in optimizing the use of Microsoft Excel for health data processing. The training provided included data validation techniques, the use of logical and statistical functions, the creation of visual graphs and dashboards, and the development of data recap templates that fit the real needs in the field. The results of the training showed significant improvement in participants' ability to manage and analyze health data efficiently. The evaluation showed a very high level of participant satisfaction with the benefits of the training (90%), the quality of the materials (89%), and the relevance to daily work needs (92%). With participatory learning methods and hands-on practice, the training successfully supported the digital transformation of health services.

Abstract

Feed is one of the important factors that play a role in livestock farming, 60%-70% of the production cost is allocated for feed costs. Making fermented silage feed is one alternative that can be used to overcome this problem. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of laying duck farmers in utilizing Azolla plants as fermented feed for ducks. This activity was carried out at the Soponyono 1 Farmer Group, Tanah Periuk Village, Muara Beliti District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra from July to September 2024. Extension activities were carried out through lectures and discussions on the potential of Azolla plants as alternative feed. Training activities were carried out through direct practice in processing Azolla plants into duck feed using silage fermentation technology. The results of this community service activity have been able to improve the knowledge and skills of the community in Tanah Priuk Village in processing Azolla plants into duck feed products that have economic value, so that they can reduce expenses on duck feed costs and increase duck productivity. The response of the socialization participants was generally good and positive; this can be seen based on the very high enthusiasm of the participants during the discussion session and also during the practice of making silage. After this community service activity is carried out, it is expected that the community service participants can make silage for animal feed independently.
