Abstract

The Science and Technology-Based Entrepreneurship Development Program (PPKBI) plays a crucial role as a form of downstream research translation towards commercialization. This community engagement initiative is expected to enhance collaboration with partners, in this case, a student entrepreneurship group known as the Fisheries Product Club (FPC). The downstream products have already been granted simple patents, namely Ubikan Fish Nugget (Patent No. IDS000004954) and Anekarasa Catfish Macaroni (Patent No. IDS000005784). The objective of this program is to provide opportunities to accelerate the development of a culture of utilizing university research outputs for the benefit of the community, as well as to foster cooperation with partners, including industry and marketing sectors. The implementation method employed the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS), which is fundamentally based on engaging students in an active and naturally participatory learning process within the entrepreneurship program through training. This approach forms an interactive, participatory learning system, both at the individual and group levels. A total of 20 participants, all members of the FPC, took part in the program. The training yielded positive responses and motivated participants to embark on entrepreneurial activities. The products, Anekarasa catfish macaroni and Ubikan fish nuggets, hold strong potential to be developed as viable business opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs

Abstract

The intensity of gadget use that is too frequent in a day or a week will certainly lead to the lives of teenagers who tend to only care about their gadgets rather than doing activities outside the home. The training is based on the use of gadgets, especially smartphones, which are increasingly popular among teenagers, especially students of SMP Negeri 1, Ternate City. This training aims to determine the significance of the intensity of gadget use with anxiety in students of SMP Negeri 1, Ternate City, totaling 35 students. The training technique was carried out through observation, interviews, test scales, and documentation. The pre-test and post-test sampling used was total sampling. Data collection used a Likert scale consisting of two scales, namely the gadget addiction anxiety scale using normality tests, reliability tests, and hypothesis tests. The results of the normality test training variable that for the pretest results the significance value in the significance column is 0.073 because the significance value is more than 0.05, it can be said that the distribution is normal. While the posttest results are known the significance value in the significance column is 0.223 because the significance value is more than 0.05, it can be said that the distribution is normal. Cronbach Alpha reliability value = 0.8720.60 so that from the analysis it can be stated that the Anxiety Pre-Test scale is reliable. The significance value is 0.002, where the testing criteria are if, Sig 0.05 then Ho is accepted if, Sig 0.05 then Ho is rejected. So, 0.002 0.005 which means Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that, psycho education can reduce anxiety in students so that students can use gadgets more positively.

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is a strategic plantation commodity in Indonesia, functioning as the primary raw material for sugar and traditional sweeteners such as gula saka. In Nagari Bukik Batabuah, West Sumatra, gula saka production holds economic, social, and cultural significance; however, product quality remains inconsistent, particularly due to inappropriate harvest timing and post-harvest handling. This study aims to examine the influence of sugarcane harvest period on the quality of gula saka produced by local farmers and traditional processors (pangilang saka). A descriptive qualitative approach was applied through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. The results indicate that harvest age and delays between harvesting and processing significantly affect the chemical composition of sugarcane juice, especially sucrose levels, reducing sugars, and phenolic compounds. Harvesting at an immature stage leads to low sugar yield and weak sweetness, while over-mature harvesting or delayed processing accelerates sucrose degradation, resulting in darker color and inferior flavor quality. These findings demonstrate that variations in gula saka quality are strongly associated with harvest management rather than processing methods alone. The study concludes that strengthening farmers’ capacity in determining optimal harvest timing and improving post-harvest practices is essential to enhance product quality, preserve local wisdom, and improve the sustainability of traditional sugarcane-based industries
