Abstract

One of the uses of radioactive sources is in the field of health, where they are used in hospitals for radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and radiodiagnostics. Nevertheless, the use of nuclear technology in the health sector produces radioactive waste substances that pose health and environmental risks, and have the potential to be misused by irresponsible groups and terrorists to create radiological weapons that are used in crimes and pose a threat to security. Any activity that utilizes radioactive substances must pay attention to radioactive waste management, which applicable regulations must appropriately manage. The research method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach, and data collection techniques are used with literature review methods. Radioactive waste produces alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. Radioactive waste treatment techniques can be carried out by separation, storage, transportation, treatment, and final disposal. Governments, hospitals, relevant organizations, and communities should work together to improve the safety of radioactive waste management and protect the environment and human health. It is essential to understand the types of radioactive waste substances, comply with applicable rules and regulations, implement appropriate radioactive waste treatment techniques, and raise awareness about the dangers of radioactive waste substances

Abstract

This research discusses the degradation condition of Naval Main Bases VI Makassar, which has experienced a decline in function as a naval operational support center. Factors such as the impact of the Makassar New Port (MNP) reclamation project and the morphological condition of the area have influenced the optimal implementation of base duties and the decrease in the base's confidentiality as an Integrated Fleet Weapon System (SSAT). Through the Multi-Objective Optimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method, this research aims to determine the best alternative in choosing the location of Naval Main Bases VI. The alternatives involved are Naval Bases Mamuju, Kendari, Naval Base Baubau, and Naval Base Palu. Criteria and sub-criteria, attributes as the basis for determining the best alternative choices include geography, resources, socio-cultural aspects, and vulnerability. The research results show that the use of the MOORA method provides optimal risk mitigation decisions for selecting the best alternative location. This research serves as an objective recommendation when deciding on more effective and targeted decision-making, thus using this method can achieve optimal results and can further develop knowledge in Decision Support Systems (DSS). The calculation results with the highest ranking are: Naval Base Palu with a value of (0.2402); this method is suitable for selecting the Alternative Naval Main Bases VI that is acceptable

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global health threat, especially in low and middle income countries, including Indonesia. In Indonesia, there is a surge in TB cases due to the lack of detection and treatment of TB that does not reach the target. To achieve TB elimination by 2030 in accordance with the global target, Indonesia must reach the target of finding cases at least 90% of estimated cases. TB case finding through the screening activities is the first step of TB control to reduce morbidity and mortality. This study aims to analyze the requirements of the TB screening information system. The analysis was conducted based on the PIECES Framework as a method of analysis as a basis for obtaining more specific issues. The results of the analysis resulted in the need for an information system that can be accessed by the Health Office, Health Center, and the community with several requirements including providing a menu of counseling schedules and consultation messages, adding data on educational materials, producing an information dashboard, a system equipped with a database for storage and a password for security, and producing accurate and real time information for the requirements of prevention and intervention efforts

Abstract

Natural disasters pose significant threats to human life, and no region in Indonesia is immune. In 2018, Central Sulawesi faced its most devastating disaster, severely impacting various sectors, particularly hospitals. As the primary referral center in the province, Undata Hospital plays a crucial role in disaster response.  This study utilized a descriptive qualitative research approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document reviews. Undata Hospital has a natural disaster policy (Hospital Disaster Plan), with SOPs (general procedures), has a disaster response team (HDP team and the K3RS team), Financial resources come from the hospital's situational funds, the infrastructure needs remain unfulfilled, and the last training session was conducted in 2017. Undata Hospital disaster readiness is at a basic level. Despite having a disaster policy, it lacks socialization and specific SOPs for natural disasters. The disaster response teams are not fully functional, infrastructure needs are inadequately addressed, continuous training and simulations are insufficient, and funding for disaster preparedness is lacking
