Abstract

The increasing number of children involved as perpetrators in sexual crimes against fellow minors raises serious concerns in criminal law and child protection. This research examines the criminal sentencing imposed on a child who committed forced indecent acts against a child victim, as reflected in Decision No. 7/Pid.Sus-Anak/2024/PN.Gdt. The study aims to analyze (1) how the sentencing is carried out and (2) whether the sentencing aligns with the purposes of punishment. This research applies a normative juridical and empirical juridical approach, with data collected through literature review and field interviews with judges, prosecutors, and legal scholars. The results show that the child offender was sentenced to 7 years in the Class II Child Development Institution (LPKA) in Bandar Lampung and 6 months of job training at LPKS Insan Berguna. The judge’s decision was based on legal (juridical), philosophical, and sociological considerations. It was also grounded in the integrative theory of punishment, which combines retributive and rehabilitative aims. The punishment not only served as a deterrent and accountability for the committed crime but also aimed to reform and reintegrate the child into society. The study concludes that the imposed sentence was proportionate, aligned with statutory requirements, and reflected the best interests of the child without neglecting public justice and protection.

Abstract

The retributive approach in Indonesia's criminal justice system has increasingly been challenged for failing to address the root causes of crime, victim needs, and offender rehabilitation. This study aims to explore restorative justice as a moral and philosophical alternative that emphasizes healing over punishment. It focuses on the correlation between justice and morality, reflecting how restorative practices contribute to a more humane and inclusive legal system. Using a philosophical-juridical method, the study examines statutory regulations including the Juvenile Criminal Justice System Law No. 11/2012, Prosecutor’s Regulation No. 15/2020, and Police Regulation No. 8/2021 and integrates them with the concepts of justice by Plato, moral responsibility by Poespoprodjo, and reintegrative shaming by Braithwaite. The findings highlight that restorative justice prioritizes repairing social harm, active accountability of offenders, and the empowerment of victims through participatory dialogue. Morality is manifested in the separation of wrongdoing from the wrongdoer, enabling moral transformation and social reintegration without stigmatization. While restorative principles have been partially adopted into national legislation, cultural and institutional resistance remains a challenge. Nonetheless, restorative justice emerges as a practical and ethical legal innovation capable of reducing recidivism, prison overcrowding, and distrust in the legal system. It offers not only a legal solution but a moral commitment to restoring social harmony.

Abstract

The decision of PSSI to extend Shin Tae Yong's contract until 2027 has become a hot issue that sparked widespread discussion on social media, with public opinion divided between support for his achievements and criticism of the less-than-optimal results. Using a netnographic approach, this study explores the dynamics of online public perception regarding the decision and how social media shapes and reflects public opinion within the context of sports management. The purpose of this study is to understand the online community’s response to the extension of Shin Tae Yong’s contract until 2027. The method used in this research is a netnographic approach. Data were collected from publicly available information where everyone is free to share anything through social media. The data collection techniques used were documentation and field notes. The results indicate that the online community’s responses to the contract extension decision are largely positive, featuring unique comments, irrelevant comments to the posts, as well as suggestions and advice directed at Shin Tae Yong and the PSSI leadership. Some comments expressed disagreement, and there were also sarcastic remarks aimed at the commentator Tommy Welly.

Abstract

In organizational settings, job positions are often viewed not only as formal roles with defined responsibilities but also as symbols of personal identity, career progression, and individual achievement. This study aims to explore how employees perceive and interpret the positions they hold within the organizational structure, particularly in the context of PT. Surya Toto Indonesia Tbk. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis to gain deeper insights into employees’ experiences, perceptions, and expectations related to their roles. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 employees from various hierarchical levels within the company. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling, based on predetermined criteria relevant to the study’s objectives. The findings indicate that a job position is not merely seen as a formal duty but also carries personal significance, including a sense of pride, validation, and a pathway for professional growth. However, several respondents also revealed that their positions often come with psychological burdens, such as high performance expectations, complex responsibilities, and persistent pressure to maintain standards. Moreover, workplace social dynamics may contribute to interpersonal conflicts or competition, which can adversely affect emotional well-being. These findings highlight the dual nature of organizational roles, encompassing both opportunities and challenges.

Abstract

This study examines how Rachel Lim, the co-founder of the women’s fashion brand Love, Bonito, strategically builds her personal branding through her Instagram account @ms_rach. The main issue addressed in this research is the growing significance of social media, particularly Instagram, in shaping personal identity and influencing brand perception. The objective is to analyze Rachel Lim’s personal branding strategies using Peter Montoya’s eight principles of personal branding. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a constructivist paradigm. Data were collected through direct observation of Instagram activities, in-depth interviews with Rachel Lim and selected followers, and supporting documentation. Thematic analysis was applied by categorizing content according to Montoya’s framework: specialization, leadership, personality, distinctiveness, visibility, unity, persistence, and goodwill. The findings reveal that Rachel Lim’s Instagram content consistently reflects the elements of effective personal branding. Her posts not only highlight her professional role but also integrate personal values, such as authenticity, empowerment, and family balance. These elements reinforce her identity as both a brand leader and a relatable figure. Her ability to combine her business vision with inspirational content strengthens the alignment between her personal brand and the mission of Love, Bonito. The study concludes that Rachel Lim has successfully utilized Instagram as a powerful platform to build a consistent and influential personal brand.

Abstract

The Malay community is widely known for upholding noble values deeply rooted in their language, behavior, and daily practices. This study investigates how these Malay cultural values are integrated into the interpretation of Surah Al-Isra’ verses 23–25 concerning birrul walidayn (dutifulness to parents) as presented in Tafsir Nur Al-Ihsan by Sheikh Muhammad Sa'id bin 'Umar al-Falimbani. The research adopts a qualitative method using content analysis and a socio-cultural approach, with data collected through library research involving primary and secondary sources. The findings reveal that the interpretation in Tafsir Nur Al-Ihsan harmoniously combines textual and contextual meanings, reflecting essential elements of Malay values such as obedience and piety, etiquette, social care, and cultural identity. These values are embedded not only in the textual interpretation but also in the behavioral guidance provided to the readers. Furthermore, the use of the Malay-Jawi language in the tafsir reinforces its accessibility and relevance for the local community. The study concludes that Tafsir Nur Al-Ihsan serves not only as a religious exegesis but also as a cultural medium that bridges Islamic teachings with local wisdom. This research contributes to the development of context-based tafsir studies in Southeast Asia and emphasizes the importance of integrating religious texts with social and cultural perspectives to foster a more grounded and dynamic understanding of Islam.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has significantly transformed educational systems worldwide, including Islamic education in rural areas. However, implementing distance learning (DL) in these settings presents unique challenges due to limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and socioeconomic disparities. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning in enhancing technological literacy within Islamic education in rural Sarolangun, Indonesia. A qualitative approach was employed through a systematic literature review, focusing on scholarly works related to distance education, digital literacy, and Islamic pedagogy in rural contexts. Data were gathered from academic databases using keywords such as "distance learning," "digital literacy," "Islamic education," and "rural area." The findings reveal that while digital platforms can effectively support cognitive learning, they often fall short in addressing affective and psychomotor domains crucial to Islamic education. The study also highlights the importance of integrating Islamic values into digital pedagogy to maintain spiritual authenticity. The research suggests that blended learning models combining online and face-to-face approaches offer a more adaptable solution for rural Islamic schools. Nevertheless, ongoing challenges such as technological inequity, insufficient teacher training, and cultural resistance to change must be addressed. These insights provide a foundation for designing contextually relevant and value-based distance education strategies that align with the needs and realities of rural Muslim communities.

Abstract

This study is a literature review that explores the challenges and opportunities faced by school principals in leading technology-based curriculum innovation. In the digital era, educational institutions are under pressure to integrate technological advancements into curriculum management. School principals play a strategic role in facilitating this transformation, yet they often encounter significant barriers such as limited infrastructure, resistance to change among teachers, and lack of digital competence. This study aims to identify these issues while also highlighting the potential enablers of successful implementation, including policy support, access to online training, and cross-sector collaboration. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes and synthesizes findings from academic journals, books, research reports, and policy documents published between 2020 and 2025. Thematic analysis was used to extract core patterns related to leadership, digital curriculum management, and institutional change. The findings show that transformational and distributed leadership styles are essential in guiding schools through the integration of technology into teaching and learning processes. Furthermore, school principals are expected to create a collaborative and innovation-friendly school culture while continuously enhancing teachers’ digital competencies. The study recommends ongoing professional development and strategic partnerships as key factors in ensuring effective and sustainable digital curriculum innovation in schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of experiential marketing on tourists’ revisit intention to Sindangkasih Tourism Village in Garut, Indonesia. Recent tourism trends indicate a shift from merely visiting destinations to seeking personalized and emotionally engaging experiences. However, the marketing strategy in many rural tourism areas, including Sindangkasih, still lacks a structured experiential approach. This research aims to examine how five dimensions of experiential marketing sense, feel, think, act, and relate affect tourists' desire to return. A quantitative method was employed using a survey distributed to 96 respondents, selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the simultaneous and partial effects of the independent variables. The results reveal that all five dimensions significantly and positively influence revisit intention, both individually and collectively. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.655, indicating that 65.5% of the variance in revisit intention is explained by the experiential marketing components, while the remaining 34.5% is attributed to other factors not examined in this study. These findings highlight the crucial role of delivering holistic and memorable tourism experiences in enhancing visitor loyalty in rural destinations. The study suggests that local tourism managers should implement integrated experiential marketing strategies to strengthen emotional bonds with visitors and encourage repeat visits.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly impacted the education sector, including Islamic education in Jambi City. Islamic institutions have gradually integrated digital platforms to support teaching and learning processes, leading to more flexible and interactive ways of delivering religious content. This study aims to explore how new orientations in technology-based learning are being implemented in Islamic education within the socio-cultural context of Jambi. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and library research method, data were collected from relevant scientific literature, government documents, and digital publications. The findings reveal a clear transformation from traditional to digital Islamic learning models, characterized by the use of online platforms, multimedia content, and social media-based religious education. Teachers have adopted the role of digital facilitators, while students have become more active and independent learners. Despite notable challenges such as limited access to technology and low digital literacy, the integration of digital tools has opened up opportunities for creative, contextual, and inclusive Islamic education. This research contributes to the theoretical understanding of digital transformation in religious education and offers practical insights into developing localized digital learning strategies rooted in Islamic values and cultural identity.
