Abstract

The background of this research is the weakness of teacher learning management in fostering students' social skills which implies the low ability of students to build oral and written communication. The focus of the problem is how to improve teacher learning management so that the development of students' social skills is increased, especially in building student's oral and written communication optimally. The purpose of the study was to find out the management of teacher learning at MAN Tasikmalaya Regency in the form of policies for planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, learning problems and solutions in fostering students' social skills. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive method. Data obtained from interviews, observations and document studies. Data analysis uses individual case data analysis techniques and cross-case data analysis (cruss-cases analysis). Checking the validity of the data is carried out through member checks, and discussions with colleagues based on the findings obtained, Learning Management at MAN 1 Tasikmalaya Regency partially has similarities with both holding scientific learning and authentic assessment referring to the 2013 curriculum and Education System Law number 20 of 2003. Learning planning in fostering students' social skills is carried out at the beginning of each school year through madrasa work meetings with the agenda of compiling and establishing operational curricula, syllabus development, preparation of annual programs (Prota), semester programs (Prosem) , learning implementation plans (RPP), preparation of teaching materials by each subject teacher, and subject cluster teams, preparation of supervision or learning evaluation tools. Organizing learning in fostering students' social skills is carried out through mapping the duties of subject teachers and extracurricular coaches, scheduling, fulfilling workloads and additional teacher assignments. The implementation of learning in social skills development is carried out through scientific learning management where students as learning subjects can observe, ask questions, collect information, associate, communicate learning materials. Supervision of learning through authentic assessments during the learning process takes place to measure students' abilities in building question-and-answer communication, reasoning, making stories orally and in writing. The development of students' social skills is carried out through oral and written communication in the management of scientific learning and authentic assessment of intracurricular and extracurricular activities can run well, although there are still shortcomings and weaknesses. Problems that arise in learning management in fostering students' social skills are accommodated through follow-up plans (RTL) and solutions for preparation for improvement of learning activities in fostering students' social skills to achieve further goals on an ongoing basis.

The global pandemic of COVID-19 has caught many organizations changed the way organizations conduct their activities. Universities are learning organizations delivering knowledge to students. In a matter of days, the learning activities were changed into online mode after a brief announcement by the national government declaring a state of disaster in Indonesia. Online platforms in universities are common as most universities already conduct some form of online learning. But this time it was different. The pandemic has caused a barrier in a form of social distance, online. This study tries to answer the following questions: what are the students' perception of online learning in management programs? What challenges do the students face in online learning during COVID19, and what are the solutions for those challenges? Descriptive survey method was conducted on a sample of management students at several universities in Bandung. Questionnaires were distributed through an online platform with a snowball sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that students are not ready to follow the online learning system. Limited facilities, level of understanding, difficulty interacting with lecturers or fellow students, miscommunication due to misperceptions, unsupportive online learning environment, and technical problems become obstacles in online learning. Students prefer face-to-face learning over online learning. In essence, they are easier to grasp the material presented. In the teaching materials dimensions, respondents gave a negative response to all indicators, where the biggest negative 92% response was on the online college environment indicator. Then on the learning interaction dimension, the biggest negative response is 86% about online learning interactions with fellow students Furthermore, in the learning environment dimension, 94% of respondents stated th at they prefer face-to-face learning which provides convenience in solving problems

Abstract

Technological developments have a positive impact on education. Students are required to have knowledge and skills as a result of learning. However, the results of teaching and learning conducted at the University of Madura have not achieved the expected learning objectives. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of blended learning assisted by probing-prompting Edmodo collaboration in improving learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. This research is quasi-experimental with a 2x2 factorial design. Determination of the sample using random sampling from 4 odd-even classes with a total of 65 students majoring in Accounting at the University of Madura. Data collection techniques used pretest-posttest with the help of the IBM Statistics-24 application. The normality test used one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov and the homogeneity test used Levene with a significance of 5%. Hypothesis testing with two-way analysis of variance based on a 2x2 factorial design. The research data showed an increase in learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in the BLPP class from pretest to post-test was 0.39 and 0.80 with a total of 1.19 percent. While the PPF2F class increased from pretest to post-test by 0.42 and 0.63 with a total of 1.05 percent. Based on the results of the research data analysis, it was concluded that the blended learning model assisted by the probing-prompting collaboration Edmodo was effective in improving student learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in introductory accounting courses. The increase obtained in addition to internal factors is also due to the advantages that exist in the BLPP. Therefore, the selection of models and approaches used is one of the determinants of achieving learning objectives. So, the BLPP model is a learning model that can influence improving learning outcomes and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the implementation of Principal’s Total Quality Management (TQM) in Improving Teacher Professional Competence in Private Elementary Schools. This qualitative research uses a case study method through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques at Elementary School’s Lab school of UPI Cibiru, Bandung Regency and Elementary School’s Lab of Al Azhar Syifa Budi Parahyangan, West Bandung Regency. The conclusion of the research is that the implementation of the Principal's Total Quality Management (TQM) in improving the professional competence of teachers in both schools has been going well, on the contrary they have not implemented the TQM principles optimally. This is illustrated by the lack of integration of socialization activities at the planning stage and the lack of effective communication relationships with parents and other institutions. Thus, it is necessary to carry out further studies related to improving the professional competence of teachers in elementary schools to map the condition of teachers in the future.

Abstract

The rapid development of economic activity followed by the development of financial institutions (banks) both conventional and using Islamic principles, in the banking world often use money market facilities in its operations, because in certain circumstances the bank may experience excess or lack of liquidity in the short term which is less than one year. The only money market that is allowed is the money market that does not use the interest system, this is to avoid riba nasi'ah because the loss (danger) of the interest is greater than the profit (mashlahah). In addition, because Islam prohibits the sale and purchase of money as a commodity or speculation. The National Sharia council should develop the concept of policies and procedures for money market activities in more detail, so that the parties to the transaction can comply with the principles of established Sharia norms. However, the fatwa of the National Sharia Council No:37/DSN-MUI/X/2002 can be used as a solution for parties (banks) that conduct transactions in the money market by providing alternative contracts mudharabah (muqaradhah), Musharakah, Qard, Wadiah, and al-Sharf.
