Abstract

The method used in this research is normative legal research, namely research into problems by looking at the sources of applicable regulations relating to the title.Legal Analysis of Judge's Decision on the Imposition of Sanctions on Murder Perpetrators Study of Decision No. 264/PID.B/2024/PN RHL. InThe decision of the Rokan Hilir District Court No. 264/Pid.B/2024/PN Rhl has declared the Defendant Hari Kurniawan alias Ari bin Sugianto and has been proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing the crime of premeditated murder, as in the indictment of the Public Prosecutor by sentencing the Defendant to a prison sentence of 19 (nineteen) years.is very much in accordance with the concept of justice mentioned by John Rawls that the justice enforcement program with a people's dimension must pay attention to two principles of justice, namely: Providing equal rights and opportunities for the broadest basic freedoms as broad as the same freedom for everyone. The results of the study show that the judge in this decision based his considerations on Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning ordinary murder, by adjusting the trial facts to the elements of the article. The judge's considerations involved subjective aspects, such as the defendant's psychological condition, and objective aspects, such as evidence and witness statements. Although the decision reflects elements of justice, several aspects, such as the application of maximum sanctions and efforts to prevent similar crimes, still require further evaluation. This study concludes that law enforcement in this case reflects the application of the principle of legality, but there is room for increased effectiveness through regulatory reform and more progressive implementation of criminal law.

Abstract

The method used in this study is normative legal research, namely research on problems by looking at the sources of applicable regulations related to the title of Handling of Perma No. 2 of 2012 in cases of minor receiving in the jurisdiction of the Rokan Hilir Police. In the Decision of the Rokan Hilir District Court No. 9 / Pid.C / 2023 / PN Rhl, the verdict states that the Defendant Rosa Mayheppi Sinurat alias Rosa above was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing the crime of minor receiving; Sentencing the Defendant therefore to imprisonment for 14 (fourteen) days. In this case, the verdict handed down by the Panel of Judges against the Defendant was lower than the demands of the Public Prosecutor who had demanded for 1 month, this was due to the existence of mitigating factors for the defendant which were taken into consideration by the Panel of Judges in making the verdict. The author hopes that the Rokan Hilir Police will be consistent in pursuing the receiver of every minor theft crime, which is also one of the benchmarks for reducing crime itself.

Abstract

Photojournalism serves as a powerful medium in shaping societal perceptions, particularly in the representation of marginalized communities. This study critically examines how sex workers are visually portrayed in photojournalism, employing a semiotic analysis grounded in the frameworks of Ferdinand de Saussure, Charles Sanders Peirce, and Roland Barthes. The research investigates the role of denotation and connotation in constructing meaning, while foregrounding the mechanisms of dehumanization. Dehumanization is explored through both overt visual techniques and more subtle compositional choices that strip subjects of agency and individuality. Utilizing qualitative content analysis, the study analyzes a selection of photojournalistic images, focusing on signs, codes, and symbolic structures embedded within the visuals. Findings indicate a prevalent reliance on visual tropes that perpetuate stereotypes and reinforce social hierarchies. These visual strategies not only marginalize sex workers but also align with broader patterns of social exclusion and discrimination. The study concludes that ethical considerations in visual storytelling remain critically underexplored, especially in the context of vulnerable populations. Addressing these issues requires a reevaluation of journalistic practices and the incorporation of humanizing visual narratives that affirm dignity and complexity. This research contributes to media studies by bridging semiotic theory with critical discourse on visual ethics and human rights

Abstract

This study analyzes the bankruptcy risk of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (SRIL) from 2019 to 2023 using the Altman Z-Score model. This model is applied to evaluate five key indicators: Working Capital to Total Assets, Retained Earnings to Total Assets, EBIT to Total Assets, Market Value of Equity to Book Value of Liabilities, and Sales to Total Assets. The results indicate significant financial fluctuations, with a tendency to remain in the grey area and distress categories. The average Z-Score of 1.53 suggests that the company's financial condition is still far from the safe category (>2.99). The most critical condition occurred in 2021 when the Z-Score dropped drastically to -0.70 due to high debt burdens, declining operating profits, and the loss of market equity value. Although there was an improvement in 2022 and 2023, the company still faces major challenges in enhancing profitability and managing financial risks effectively. Theoretically, this study confirms the relevance of the Z-Score model in assessing a company’s financial health and predicting potential bankruptcy. These findings reinforce the importance of Z-Score analysis as a predictive tool in anticipating financial risks, especially for companies with high debt levels. Practically, PT Sritex needs to implement a more conservative financial management strategy, including debt reduction and operational efficiency improvements, to avoid future financial distress.

These findings emphasize the importance of sustained audience engagement and relationship building before, during, and after transactions. In conclusion, the success of marketing in social commerce does not only depend on product quality and brand reputation but also on adaptive and authentic communication strategies, with content that can communicate independently and hosts who are active and sincere in interacting with the audience. This study suggests that brands prioritize interactive experiences and relevant content to enhance instant purchasing decisions in a competitive e-commerce environment.
