Abstract

In the digital era, social media platforms such as Instagram have become an important tool for marketing and customer engagement. This research investigates the impact of Brand Ambassador and Instagram Promotion on consumer purchase choices, especially on Skintific skin care products in Cirebon. The purpose of this study is to determine the result of Brand Ambassador and Instagram Promotion on Purchasing Decisions in Cirebon. The study's respondents were Skintific user consumers throughout Cirebon. With a sample of 111 respondents, this study used a quantitative approach by distributing online questionnaires and analyzing the data using multiple linear regression in the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) application. The validity and reliability tests showed high internal consistency, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.946 (Brand Ambassador), 0.950 (Instagram Promotion), and 0.929 (Purchase Decision). The results showed that both Brand Ambassador and Instagram Promotion significantly influenced purchasing decisions (R² = 0.919), with Instagram promotion having a stronger influence (β = 0.828) than brand ambassadors (β = 0.185). The regression model demonstrates that 91.9% of the variation in purchasing decisions can be clarified by these two variables. This study found that digital marketing strategies, especially those that leverage social media engagement, play an important role in shaping consumer behavior. Companies are advised to optimize Instagram-based promotions while maintaining more effective use of Brand Ambassadors to improve brand image and sales performance.

Abstract

This study explores gender dynamics and emotional manipulation in Shawn Mendes’ song Treat You Better through the lens of feminist theory and Baudrillard’s concept of hyperreality. The lyrics center on a male persona who asserts that he can treat a woman better than her current partner. While this narrative appears empathetic and caring, it subtly conveys a form of benevolent coercion, in which the man positions himself as morally superior and thus more deserving of the woman’s affection. This analysis employs qualitative textual methods to examine the linguistic structure and implicit meanings embedded in the song’s lyrics. The findings reveal that expressions of concern are often framed as emotional domination, cloaked in seemingly affectionate language. Baudrillard’s hyperreality theory is used to illustrate how media representations of romantic love contribute to distorted ideals of relationships, obscuring the boundary between genuine care and controlling behavior. The study concludes that popular media, including songs like Treat You Better, may perpetuate patriarchal norms and emotional manipulation under the guise of romantic concern. By critically examining such portrayals, this research underscores the importance of media literacy and gender awareness. It reinforces global efforts toward achieving SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).

Abstract

This study discusses the administrative requirements for organ and tissue transplantation in Indonesia, particularly the form of the “written statement” which has not been fully accommodated in the current health legislation. There is a discrepancy between administrative requirements in Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024 and Ministry of Health Regulation No. 38 of 2016. Therefore, a normative ambiguity arises, which the author addresses through this research questions: (1) What is the urgency of regulating the form of a 'written statement' as an administrative requirement for organ and human tissue transplantation in Indonesia? and (2) What is the appropriate form of the “written statement” as an administrative requirement for transplantation? To answer these questions, the author uses normative juridical research methods and applies three approaches: statutory, conceptual, and comparative. The analysis is conducted through grammatical and systematic interpretation. The study finds that the regulation of the written statement is still unclear, causing legal uncertainty. Yet, such a document is crucial for ensuring that the transplantation process is legal, voluntary, and transparent, and to prevent organ trafficking. Therefore, a more specific regulation is needed. The study concludes that notarial deed is the most appropriate form to express the donor’s consent legally, ethically, and responsibly.

Abstract

This article examines the persuasive communication model in culinary content produced by the Instagram account @maumakanchanel, which serves as a popular reference for promoting local culinary businesses in Medan City. The urgency of this study lies in the role of social media as a strategic promotional platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), where visual and narrative communication acts as the primary instrument in influencing public consumption preferences. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach aimed at illustrating the dynamics of messages and persuasive communication strategies in digital content. Data collection techniques include content observation, in-depth interviews with eleven informants comprising account owners, administrators, and active followers, as well as digital documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that persuasive message construction is formed through a combination of central and peripheral routes as outlined in the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), emphasizing communicator credibility, appealing food visuals, and emotionally engaging, distinctive language styles. The study concludes that the integration of authentic communicator motivation, visual-verbal strategies, and an in-depth understanding of audience dynamics is crucial for the success of culinary communication on social media.

Abstract

Learning agility and its impact on performance at PT Pegadaian are the focus of this study, which aims to investigate the function of self-efficacy and locus of control in this context.  There were no exceptions among the 120 workers; everyone was actively engaged.  Results showed a favorable correlation between high levels of self-efficacy and better performance.  In a similar vein, having an internal locus of control helps one function at their best.  The link between self-efficacy, locus of control, and employee performance was strengthened by learning agility, a major mediating variable.  To overcome the impact of these two mental aspects on productivity on the job, people's capacity for rapid and flexible learning is crucial.  As a result, boosting employees' learning agility and positive self-efficacy may work hand in hand to boost their performance. This study investigates the mediating role of learning agility in the relationship between self-efficacy, locus of control, and employee performance at PT. Pegadaian in Cirebon. A total of 120 employees participated in the study using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 25. The findings reveal that self-efficacy (β = 1.000, p < 0.000) and locus of control (β = 0.176, p < 0.000) significantly affect employee performance. Learning agility acts as a significant mediator, with a direct effect on performance (β = 0.501, p < 0.000), indicating its pivotal role in enhancing performance through psychological traits. The adjusted R² value of 1.000 supports the robustness of the model. These findings underscore the importance of internal psychological mechanisms and adaptability in achieving high job performance.

Abstract

This study examines the ideological discourse embedded in the 2023 film Ethics, with a focus on the depiction of character education and morality. Through critical discourse analysis, this research identifies how films build moral values, representations of ethical dilemmas, and ideological messages conveyed to the audience. This research highlights the role of film in shaping public perception of ethics and character education. Furthermore, this research explores how film narratives engage with traditional and modern perspectives on moral values. Using Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis, this study investigates how Ethics builds its ideological attitudes and the implications of its moral representations. The film is positioned in a larger discourse than Indonesian cinema as a tool for moral storytelling, emphasizing its potential in shaping societal norms. The study also discusses how audiences interpret the moral and ethical dilemmas presented, taking into account the socio-cultural context of Indonesia. The findings of the study show that Ethics strengthens the importance of character education through the depiction of ethical struggles, depicting individual and systemic moral conflicts. This highlights the film's dual function: as a reflection of contemporary moral values and as a critique of the ethical tensions prevailing in Indonesian society.

Abstract

Criminal liability for the determination of suspects in the abuse of duck theft which is proven through video recordings that have been sent many times to the victim's family so that this is seen from the aspect of Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the aspect of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Transaction Information (ITE) so that the video recording evidence used as evidence by the Labuhanbatu Police investigators fulfills the elements to determine a suspect for the perpetrator without taking expert testimony and conducting a forensic test on the video recording obtained via WhatsApp as social media so that law enforcement against perpetrators of acts of violence and abuse that meet the elements of the crime that has been processed is seen to be irregular with the provisions of the applicable law in law enforcement so that the perpetrator must be held accountable for his actions through evidence of video recordings obtained through social media to determine the perpetrators as suspects, even though legal norms clearly function as guidelines for legal relations in community and state life. However, in reality, law enforcement against vigilante actions that meet the elements of Article 170 or Article 351 of the Criminal Code by Labuhanbatu Police investigators fulfilling the elements to determine the suspect for the perpetrator without taking expert testimony and conducting a forensic test on the video recording obtained through WhatsApp as social media so that law enforcement against perpetrators of acts of violence and abuse that meet the elements of a crime that has been processed is seen to be irregular with the provisions of the applicable law in law enforcement so that the perpetrator must be held accountable for his actions through evidence of video recordings obtained through social media to determine the perpetrators as suspects, even though legal norms clearly function as guidelines for legal relations in community and state life. However, in reality, law enforcement against vigilante actions that meet the elements of Article 170 or Article 351 of the Criminal Code by investigators from the Labuhanbatu Police for duck theft does not reflect the law enforcement expected for the perpetrators who force the perpetrators to be determined as suspects to be held accountable for their actions. This researcher uses the Normative Juridical research method using primary data and secondary data with the interview method as supporting data with related agencies by drawing deductive conclusions. The results of the study explain that (1) Law enforcement against vigilante actions that meet the elements of Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning violence or Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning abuse must be processed in accordance with applicable legal regulations in order to create law enforcement and legal certainty and justice for the victim. (2) The legal consequences of vigilante actions have resulted in the law not running properly but must be applied in accordance with the applicable legal mechanism for the investigation process so that when determining suspects for perpetrators it can be more effective so that there needs to be an increase in legal awareness in society so that society understands its rights and obligations, and law enforcement officers must improve the performance of law enforcement so that the law enforcement desired by society can be realized. (3) Criminal responsibility for the perpetrators of the duck theft assault has been determined as suspects by investigators from the Labuhanbatu Police, although in the end peace was made between the victim and the suspects as a form of responsibility for the perpetrators taking the law into their own hands for the duck theft carried out by the victim, although the victim will still be processed through the applicable law for his actions
