Abstract

One of the problems faced by PT. Telkom Akses Yogyakarta has a fairly high employee turnover intention. The causes of turnover intention include compensation and job satisfaction, which are still relatively low. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to: (1) test the effect of compensation on turnover intention; (2) test the effect of compensation on job satisfaction; and (3) test the effect of job satisfaction on turnover intention. The sample in this study was 94 employees of PT. Telkom Access Yogyakarta. The data collection technique used a questionnaire, while the data analysis technique used path analysis with the AMOS program. The results of the study found that compensation had a negative and insignificant effect on turnover intention. This can be interpreted that the higher the compensation, the lower the employee's intention to leave, although the effect is not too strong. Compensation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. This means that the higher the compensation, the higher the employee's job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has a negative and insignificant effect on turnover intention. This means that the higher the job satisfaction, the lower the employee's intention to leave, although the effect is not too strong.

Abstract

Jakarta faces a major risk of flooding. Therefore, a strategy is needed for massive disaster risk reduction. This study aims to analyze the implementation of flood risk reduction in Jakarta. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and secondary data. The existing condition of the flood risk reduction system in Jakarta is built by strengthening early warnings that are developed based on the analysis of information collected from various parties. There are at least six ways used by BPBD to build a flood risk reduction system in Jakarta, namely: (1) the use of social media disseminated through the network of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and the community, (2) DWS, AWLR and AWS technology (3) SMS blasting system in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) and using the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) network in flood-prone areas, (4) the use of volunteer radio networks, (5) the use of Simba and (6) Flood Monitoring System. Each of these methods has an important role in disseminating early warning information and helping communities to act immediately in the face of flood threats. These methods have reflected efforts to build preparedness in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. The main focus of implementing these tools as instruments for data collection, risk information management, and access to location-based information as the basis for disaster risk reduction efforts.

Abstract

Although beekeeping significantly affects the environment, this agricultural sector faces numerous obstacles. This study examines the ecological impacts of local beekeeping methods in Mayo Darle, Cameroon. Employing the explanatory sequential design, 175 participants were chosen through stratified random sampling and were given structured questionnaires, interviews, and observations for gathering data. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square distribution test and frequency tables. Tree planting activities (63.8%, X2 = 187.434, p = 0.000), the creation of home gardens (66%, X2 = 215.959, p = 0.000), flower pollination (45.6%, X2 = 84.291, p = 0.000), and the occurrences of bush fires (noted by 87.1% prior and 12.4% currently with beekeeping, X2 = 171.516, p = 0.000) were all reported to have shown a positive and significant increase. On the downside, it was observed that access to land had significantly diminished (reported at 98.4% before and now 0% with beekeeping, X2 = 286.803, p = 0.000), and the occurrence of medicinal plants had notably reduced (from 93.6% previously to about 14% with beekeeping, X2 = 182.778, p = 0.000). Promoting environmental sustainability via sustainable beekeeping can aid in safeguarding the ecosystem and yield beneficial ecological outcomes, mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change.

Abstract

This study provides a conceptual and normative analysis of two significant economic systems in Indonesia: Islamic (Sharia) economics and Pancasila economics. Although they originate from different ideological foundations, both exhibit numerous similarities in their core principles, fundamental values, and goals. Islamic economics is based on Islamic teachings that emphasize justice, balance, and the prohibition of usury (riba), focusing on public welfare (maslahah) and equitable wealth distribution. Meanwhile, Pancasila economics is rooted in the values of Pancasila, particularly the fifth principle, which prioritizes social justice for all Indonesian people, emphasizing cooperation (gotong royong) and the balance between individual and societal interests. The analysis results indicate that both systems share common values in rejecting extreme individualism and materialism, focusing instead on collective welfare through fair wealth distribution. The fundamental difference lies in their ideological approaches: Islamic economics adheres to Islamic law (the Qur'an and Hadith) with specific rules such as the prohibition of usury and the obligation of zakat, while Pancasila economics is more flexible and adaptable to Indonesia's pluralism. The implementation of both systems in Indonesia shows a synergy, such as the development of Islamic banking and Sharia cooperatives, aligning with the principles of Pancasila economics. This study recommends strengthening this synergy through inclusive economic policies and broader education on the shared values between Islamic and Pancasila economics. In conclusion, despite their conceptual differences, Islamic economics and Pancasila economics have the potential to complement each other in achieving social justice and collective welfare in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper examines the discourse of postmemory in the promotional media of Grand Watudodol Underwater Posbox tourist attraction, Banyuwangi, Indonesia. This is qualitative research. The data were cdollected from Instagram posts taken from the official accounts of Banyuwangi tourism, bwi.id, and posindonesia.ig. The collected data wer analysed using multimodal discourse analysis. To restore the tourism sector affected by the pandemic, the Banyuwangi government has built new tours in various areas. Among them is one that collaborates with Pos Indonesia, called Posbox Underwater, which is located on Grand Watudodol (GWD) beach. This tour offers diving activities and traumatic events when sending letters. Traumatic events in this context come from the Millennial generation. For example, they must find proper paper, buy stamps, and go to the nearest post office, all of which are quite a hassle. Not to mention the worry about the letter not being delivered, the recipient not replying, making the writer curious about their response, and the time required. This research uses Gunther Kress & van Leeuewen's visual grammar design, McCabe's thematic progression, and Mariane Hirsch's postmemory to find the discourse in the existing promotional media. It is found that the transmission of trauma is depicted visually. However, textually, persuasive discourse is found in the caption. In addition, visitor testimonials also confirmed that the postmemory discourse was indeed transmitted affiliative. It can be concluded that multimodal becomes a means to advertise postmemory discourse.

Abstract

The Russian-Ukrainian conflict is a prolonged conflict that began during the Cold War between the Western bloc, in this case NATO led by the United States, and the Eastern bloc, namely the Warsaw Pact led by the Soviet Union. In 1999, during the reign of President Gorbachev in the Soviet Union, a political revolution called Glasnots and Peretroika occurred which resulted in the division of the Soviet Union into the Russian State and several small countries that separated themselves. Ukraine as a free country to cooperate in security with the Western bloc, to protect its country from Russian influence. In addition, there are minority groups in Luhansk and Donest who are ethnic Russians who want to join Russia. This prompted Russia to launch a special operation which was followed by a full-scale operation in Ukraine. The purpose of this study is to analyze Indonesia's soft power diplomacy in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, according to Sugiyono (2022), the descriptive qualitative research method is a study based on the philosophy of postpositivism used to examine the conditions of natural objects where researchers are key instruments. The results of the study show that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is a conflict of interest between large countries that want to expand their influence to other countries. Indonesia's diplomatic efforts in the Russia-Ukraine conflict began with President Joko Widodo communicating directly with Ukrainian President Zelensky and Russian President Putin to resolve the conflict between the two countries and inviting them to attend the G20 meeting. Indonesia's role as the holder of the presidency and host of the G20 Summit in 2022. In organizing the G20 in 2022, geopolitical conditions and the global security crisis are among the issues discussed. Therefore, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine automatically becomes a topic of discussion.

Abstract

The State Defense System is directed towards fulfilling the basic minimum needs, or Minimum Essential Force (MEF). MEF is one of the targets of the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) in the field of defense, divided into three stages. In the Master Plan for Defense Industry Development, the target of MEF phase III is to support the ideal posture, creating growth in the defense industry by 2029, and achieving Defense Industry Independence. This study aims to evaluate the MEF policy in realizing Defense Industry Independence so that it can become a pillar of sustainable defense economics. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. This study uses the Evaluation Theory with the CIPP Model, where the research results show that: In the context evaluation, the MEF Policy emerges as a solution to realize the state's defense system towards the ideal posture to create Defense Industry Independence. In the input evaluation, it can be seen in the MEF Alignment process. In the process evaluation, it can be seen how MEF serves as a framework in realizing an independent defense industry so that it can become a pillar of sustainable defense economics through the Import Substitution Industrialization Policy and realizing downstream processes in the Defense Industry. Meanwhile, in the product evaluation, factors that hinder the realization of Defense Industry Independence were found. These factors include insufficient budget for domestic Defense Industry R&D compared to the budget for importing defense equipment from abroad, the lack of quality human resources, and funding limitations. To overcome these problems, a review of the performance of KKIP, as a state institution directly involved in overseeing the development of domestic defense equipment until 2029, is necessary.

Abstract

Information and communication technology is currently very important in the defense field, including in the development of tactical object monitoring systems for defense operations. One approach used is to apply the concept of object-oriented programming OOP using the Python programming language. This research uses data processing methods using the Python programming language with the help of Google Colab. In its implementation, this research creates two main classes, namely the Sensor Class and the Tactical Map Class. The Sensor Class functions to represent physical sensors in code form, with attributes of identity, location, and sensor status. The Tactical Map class serves as a representation of a tactical map used to manage and visualize objects, such as sensors, within a certain area. The development of a defense operation tactical object monitoring system by applying OOP concepts using the Python programming language has several benefits, such as easier system setup and maintenance, as well as the development of new features without disrupting existing functions. The application of OOP concepts using the Python programming language can be one of the effective approaches in developing a tactical object monitoring system for defense operations. This approach can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of military operations by utilizing modern technology, as well as provide various benefits in terms of system setup, maintenance, and development.
