Abstract

Teacher performance is a strategic factor in improving the quality of elementary education. In the context of the Merdeka Belajar policy, principals are required to act as instructional leaders who are able to influence teachers’ professional performance in a sustainable manner. This study aims to analyze the effect of the principal’s leadership style on the performance of elementary school teachers in School Cluster 2, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of all elementary school teachers from five elementary schools in School Cluster 2, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency, totaling 43 teachers. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, meaning that the entire population was included as research respondents. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire that had met validity and reliability testing requirements. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results show that the principal’s leadership style has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (β = 0.691; p < 0.05), with a contribution of 47.8%. The effect size value (f² = 0.91) indicates a strong practical effect. The study concludes that transformational and participative principal leadership plays an important role in improving the performance of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the suboptimal implementation of the PADAKUANProgram of PT Antam UBPN Sultra in coral reef conservation in Hakatutobu Village due tolimited resources, low community participation, and technical constraints in the field. Thisstudy aims to evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of the program in coral reefdevelopment and conservation. The study used an evaluative research type with a descriptivequalitative approach and the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. Datawere obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of three informants, thenanalyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results showed that thePADAKUAN Program had a positive impact on coral reef rehabilitation and increasedawareness of coastal communities regarding the importance of environmental conservation. However, the program implementation has not been optimal due to budget limitations, minimalfacilities and technical personnel, lack of consistent monitoring, and low communityinvolvement in program maintenance. In addition, the program's economic impact on thecommunity has not been significant. This study concludes that the success of an environmentbasedCSR program requires sustainable management, increased coordination between parties, strengthened community participation, and adequate resource support so that the objectives ofcoastal ecosystem conservation can be achieved effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

The drainage system along Karadenan Road in Cibinong District, Bogor Regency, plays a crucial role in conveying stormwater runoff to prevent pooling that could disrupt the function of this collector road and impede traffic flow. Field observations revealed that water pooling persists at five locations for durations exceeding two hours; the existing rectangular channels measure 0.50 m × 1.00 m, and sediment deposits were found at the channel bottoms. This study aims to evaluate the capacity of the existing drainage channels against the design flood discharge and to formulate recommendations for adjusting channel dimensions. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed for a catchment area of 22.31 hectares. Hydrological analysis utilized maximum daily rainfall data from 2015 to 2024 recorded at the Cibinong, Ranca Bungur, and Sumur Batu stations. Areal rainfall was calculated using the arithmetic mean method, while rainfall distributions were analyzed using Normal, Log-Normal, Gumbel, and Log-Pearson Type III distributions, followed by Chi-Square and Smirnov-Kolmogorov goodness-of-fit tests. Design flood discharge was calculated using the Rational Method for a five-year return period, whereas channel capacity was calculated using Manning’s equation and simulated via HEC-RAS. The study results yielded a design rainfall of 145.88 mm, a rainfall intensity of 46.9 mm/hour, a runoff coefficient of 0.56, and a design flood discharge of 1.63 m³/s. The existing channel capacity was only 0.26 m³/s—insufficient to handle the design discharge—and simulations indicated overflow. Adjusting the channel dimensions to 1.20 m × 1.00 m resulted in a capacity of 1.74 m³/s; HEC-RAS simulations showed the water level remaining below the channel rim, indicating no overflow under the proposed design scenario.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and job stress on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in the Greater Bandung area. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 127 respondents selected through purposive sampling and quota sampling with proportional allocation. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that, partially, work-life balance does not have a significant effect on turnover intention, whereas job stress has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention. Simultaneously, work-life balance and job stress have a significant effect on turnover intention. The findings suggest that job stress is a more dominant factor than work-life balance in influencing Generation Z employees' intention to leave their organizations. The study highlights the importance for organizations to implement effective job stress management strategies and foster a work environment that supports work-life balance in order to improve the retention of Generation Z employees.

Abstract

Surah Al-Fâtihah occupies a central role in Islamic prayer and requires an understanding that extends beyond syntactic interpretation to the pragmatic dimensions of the text. This study aims to examine the types of speech acts, the distribution of illocutionary acts, and the theological-pragmatic implications embedded in the seven opening verses of the Qur'an. A descriptive qualitative method was employed using a textual analysis approach based on John R. Searle's taxonomy of illocutionary acts. The findings indicate that Surah Al-Fâtihah exhibits a complex configuration of speech acts. The first four verses are predominantly characterized by assertive and expressive illocutionary acts, which construct an acknowledgment of divine reality while simultaneously expressing gratitude and complete submission to God. The fifth verse represents the strongest manifestation of commissive speech acts through an exclusive commitment to worship Allah alone. In contrast, the sixth and seventh verses are dominated by directive speech acts expressed through earnest supplications for divine guidance and protection. The theological-pragmatic implications of these findings suggest that the recitation of Surah Al-Fâtihah in prayer functions as a form of sacred speech act and ritual performativity. The asymmetrical relationship between human beings and God transforms language from a medium of information exchange into a performative act that continuously reinforces spiritual commitment and facilitates the purification of the self.

Abstract

Urban waste growth and limited local processing capacity have intensified the need to evaluate waste bank programmes in Bandung City. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Waste Bank Programme in Regol District using Sutrisno’s five dimensions: programme understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal attainment, and tangible change. A qualitative descriptive design was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and document analysis from purposively selected government officials, programme managers, participants, and environmental actors. The findings show that the programme was moderately effective. Customer participation increased from approximately 30 to 97 people, 421 kilograms of inorganic waste were recovered, customer savings reached about IDR 4.4 million, and financial turnover totalled IDR 15 million. The programme improved household waste sorting and awareness of waste’s economic value, but limited storage capacity, weak business-sector participation, and incomplete neighbourhood coverage constrained environmental impacts. Strengthening infrastructure, institutional coordination, and programme expansion is therefore essential.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate improvements in the quality of licensing services provided directly to the public by the Kolaka Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP). This research was conducted because several issues persist in licensing services, such as complicated procedures, limited access, and the ineffectiveness of direct service delivery. This study used a qualitative approach and collected data through interviews, direct observation, and documenting relevant documents. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling method, including the head of the agency, secretary, service officers, and members of the public who use the service. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study focused on five aspects of service quality: physical presence, trustworthiness, responsiveness, confidence, and empathy. The study shows that providing direct service to the public can improve the quality of licensing services, particularly in terms of ease of access and time savings. However, implementation remains inadequate due to inadequate information dissemination, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and uneven distribution of services across all regions. In terms of service quality, responsiveness and empathy are quite good, while physical aspects and reliability still need impro.

Abstract

The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Minister of TradeRegulation No. 21 of 2021 concerning the Management of Trading Facilities at Malaha Markethas generally been quite successful. In terms of communication, the government and marketmanagers have utilized various communication media such as regular meetings, WhatsAppgroups, banners, posters, and market loudspeakers. However, obstacles remain, includinglimited access to information for some vendors and suboptimal information dissemination tothe public. In terms of resources, market management is supported by adequate humanresources, facilities, and infrastructure following the market relocation in 2024, although thenumber of management staff remains limited compared to the number of vendors. In terms ofdisposition, market managers demonstrate commitment, responsibility, and openness inaccepting community aspirations, but follow-up on several issues, such as parkingarrangements, remains suboptimal. Meanwhile, the bureaucratic structure is the mostsupportive factor for policy implementation due to the clear division of tasks, goodcoordination between relevant parties, and community involvement in the market managementprocess. This indicates that the implementation of the Malaha Market management policy hasbeen quite effective, in accordance with the indicators of George C. Edward III's theory. However, improvements in communication, resource optimization, and policy implementationresponsiveness are still needed to ensure more effective, efficient, and sustainable marketmanagement.
