Abstract

Anxiety in facing and working on thesis is a worried behaviour that makes students uncomfortable. This discomfort makes it difficult for students to concentrate in facing the thesis. In facing and doing the thesis, it is necessary to have self-confidence in the form of a feeling of individual confidence in their abilities. This study aims to analyse the relationship between self- confidence and anxiety levels in final year students working on their thesis at Immanuel Health Institute Bandung. This type of research used quantitative research with correlational analytical through cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling of 75 respondents. Data were measured using the Lauster questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.946 and a validity of 0.377, and the Zun self- rratin Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.829 and a validity value of 0.918. Univariate analysis was conducted using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank test. The results of data analysis obtained that there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in final year students in working on the thesis, which is indicated by the results of the correlation coefficient rxy=-0.445 with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. This means that the higher the self-confidence, the lighter the level of anxiety is, or vice versa. This research is expected to provide information about the importance of having self-confidence in students to minimise their anxiety when working on thesis, therefore students can prepare themselves properly.

Abstract

The elderly people experience biological, physical, psychological, and social changes. These changes bring impacts on many aspects of life, including health. The changes that occur in the elderly due to the aging process make them more vulnerable to experience physical and psychosocial problems. People could face many diseases when they are entering old age, such as degenerative diseases, decreased body function, increased brittle bones, reduced ability to carry out activities, reduced ability to maintain health, and maintain body balance as well as increased the risk of falling. This change in circumstances can affect self-evaluation, causing the elderly to lose self-esteem, feel worthless, and feel useless, leading to low self-esteem. Group occupational therapy is a therapy given to elderly people in groups by motivating them to remember past events or experiences. The aim of this research is to apply the group occupational therapy model as a communication tool related to cognitive stimulation to increase independence and respect from older people. This research uses a quantitative method with a before-after quasi-experimental design, without a control group, using a quota sampling technique and a simple random sampling method with a sample size of 15 respondents. The research results showed that after undergoing group occupational therapy, the self-esteem in the elderly is increased.

Abstract

More than 90% of direct transmission cases of HIV infection in children and infants occur vertically from the mother during pregnancy. One of the efforts to prevent transmission from mother to child is through the Program of Transmission Prevention of HIV from Mother-to-Child (PMTCT). PMTCT services are integrated into the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) package at all levels of healthcare. Health education is one of the methods applied in combating HIV-AIDS. Health education helps modify behavior and enhance knowledge about HIV-AIDS, thereby preventing transmission, especially from mother to child. The objective of this study is to improve mothers’ knowledge regarding the prevention of HIV transmission from mother to child (PMTCT). This research is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population and sample for this study consisted of 84 pregnant women receiving antenatal care (ANC), selected using accidental sampling. The data collection instrument used in this study included health education materials presented through PowerPoint, reflection, and a questionnaire. Analysis results indicate that the respondents’ knowledge level increased after receiving health education (posttest) compared to before (pretest). Based on the Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test, the Z-score was -7.318 with a significant level (α) of 0.000 (2-tailed) (or p-value=0.000 <0.05), thus accepting the alternative hypothesis (H1). In conclusion, this study demonstrates a significant difference in pregnant mothers’ knowledge about PMTCT before and after receiving health education.

Abstract

High blood pressure or hypertension is still a problem with quite high prevalence of morbidity and mortality. According to Indonesian Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data, the prevalence of hypertension sufferers in 2013 was 25.8%, then increased in 2018 to 34.1% in the population aged ≥18 years. Blood pressure can be controlled by managing lifestyle and implementing a Dietary Approaches diet to Stop Hypertension (DASH). DASH is an eating plan to reduce or control high blood pressure that focuses on foods low in sodium as well as foods rich in magnesium, potassium, calcium, and other nutrients. This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge about DASH and the level of adherence to the diet. This research used the Literature Review method using narrative descriptive analysis. In searching for articles, the PRISMA method was used as a guidance to search through Google Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed databases. The results of the literature review from 17 articles showed that knowledge about the DASH diet can be effectively obtained through WhatsApp group learning videos, audiovisual media (images and sound), family-based education, and nutritional counseling. Meanwhile, adherence to the diet can be increased through providing educational videos, DASH-like diet messages via WhatsApp, direct health education, mindfulness training programs, and applying the Transtheoretical model (TTM) method. A high level of knowledge about the DASH diet can increase adherence to the hypertension diet. In addition, knowledge about the DASH diet followed by increasing regular food consumption can increase compliance in following the diet.
