Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectivenessof individual counseling services using behavior chart techniques in improving prayer habits in autistic children at SLBN Autis Sumut. Autistic children often experience obstacles in praying consistently due to difficulties in communication, focus, and adaptation to routines. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design without full randomization. The sample consisted of five autistic students with low prayer habits who were selected through purposive sampling. The intervention was delivered through four individual counseling sessions using behavior charts as visual monitoring and behavior reinforcement tools. Data were collected using a prayer habit scale instrument that had been tested for validity and reliability 0.849. The pre-test results showed that all participants were in the low category, while the post-test results showed an increase to the high category. The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test produced a significance value of 0.041 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant change. This study contributes to the field of special guidance and counseling by confirming the effectiveness of behavior charts in shaping religious behavior in autistic children. These findings are important as a basis for developing visual and behavior-based counseling services in special schools.

Abstract

Kehilangan orang tua merupakan peristiwa traumatis yang berdampak signifikan terhadap kondisi psikologis anak dan remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan strategi coping yang digunakan oleh individu pasca kehilangan orang tua, berdasakan teori Lazarus dan Folkman, (1984), Carver et al. (1989), dan Kenneth I. Pargament (1997). Analisis dilakukan terhadap 8 artikel dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang mengkaji respon anak dan remaja di berbagai konteks sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Scoping Review dengan menggunakan database Scopus, PubMed, dan Google Scholar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi coping yang ditemukan meliputi Problem-Focused Coping, Emotion-Focused Coping, Disfunctional Coping (Maladaptive), Religious Coping (Positive dan Negative Religious Coping). Pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meliputi Problem-Focused Coping, Emotion-Focused Coping dan Religious Coping ditemukan paling umum dan efektif dalam membantu adaptasi anak dalam menghadapi kehilangan. Strategi coping anak ini beragam dan kontekstual. Temuan ini dapat menjadi dasar dalam penyusunan intervensi psikososial yang sensitif dalam aspek budaya dan perkembangan anak.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services using the Shame Attacking technique in improving students’ self-disclosure. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design, specifically a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 16 students who were selected through purposive sampling based on low self-disclosure criteria and were then divided into two groups: 8 students in the experimental group and 8 students in the control group. Data were collected using a self-disclosure scale. The instrument applied in this study was an adapted version of the self-disclosure scale used in Tambubolon’s research, which was based on the same theoretical framework as the present study. Data analysis was conducted using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The hypothesis testing results showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.012, which was lower than the alpha level of 0.05 (0.012 < 0.05). Based on these results, it was concluded that group guidance services using the Shame Attacking technique were effective in improving students’ self-disclosure.

Abstract

Hearing loss in the elderly is a common health problem that can affect quality of life, including family perspectives and patient care. The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors that cause hearing loss in the elderly and to analyze patient and family perceptions of the impact of hearing loss. The method used in this study was a qualitative approach through the library research method. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The study showed that the main risk factors for hearing loss in the elderly are advanced age, noise exposure, hypertension, diabetes, and use of ototoxic drugs. Family involvement in the care process can improve patient autonomy and quality of care. In addition, communication challenges between families and health care providers also play an important role in the effectiveness of hearing loss management. In addition, patient and family perceptions of hearing loss are often influenced by limited understanding of hearing loss and lack of awareness of the importance of early detection. Most families support patients, but hearing loss causes communication difficulties that cannot be treated immediately. This study shows the need for a holistic approach to treating hearing loss in the elderly, including patient and family education and increasing early detection by health care professionals.

Abstract

Student academic achievement is an indicator of academic success. However, behind the beautiful results, another important aspect is being forgotten: the mental health of students. This project aims to investigate the effect of mental health counseling on the academic performance of MA Baytul Mukarromah students. Based on the first observation, it was found that many students have difficulty managing stress and anxiety, which can affect their learning results. Therefore, it is hoped that this project can contribute to improving the quality of education at MA Baytul Mukarromah by providing relevant recommendations related to mental health education programs. The results of this project show that mental health counseling helps students in improving their learning outcomes. Counseling not only provides knowledge and skills, but also helps students develop self-awareness, increase their motivation to learn, and establish positive social relationships so that they are more aware of the importance of healthy mental health, which increases their academic performance for a better future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memberikan informasi latar belakang tentang berbagai permasalahan yang muncul pada anak pertama, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan stereotip keluarga di kelas XII MIA MAS Muallimin UNIVA Medan. Stereotip keluarga sering kali berbentuk harapan dan tuntutan yang tinggi terhadap anak pertama, yang dapat berdampak negatif pada kesejahteraan psikologis mereka dan menyebabkan stres, depresi, dan kecemasan. Mengetahui seberapa baik anak pertama di kelas XII MIA MAS Muallimin UNIVA Medan memahami stereotip keluarga sebelum dan sesudah konseling kelompok menggunakan teknik defusi kognitif merupakan tujuan dari penelitian ini. Penelitian ini juga berupaya untuk memastikan bagaimana layanan konseling kelompok menggunakan teknik defusi kognitif memengaruhi pemahaman anak pertama tentang stereotip keluarga. Desain penelitian ini digunakan dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design dan metodologi quasi-eksperimental kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa jurusan IPA kelas XII, dan hingga sepuluh individu dengan stereotip keluarga yang kuat dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner stereotip keluarga pada anak pertama, dan analisis data menggunakan statistik parametrik menggunakan uji-t sampel independen dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 30. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, HO ditolak dan Ha diterima karena nilai Sig.2 t (0,000) < 0,05 (nilai signifikansi). Anak kelas XII MIA MAS Muallimin UNIVA Medan memiliki stereotip keluarga yang lebih sedikit sebagai hasil dari konseling kelompok dengan menggunakan teknik defusi kognitif.

both socially and emotionally. However, it was found that some students still experience difficulties in managing their emotions and show low levels of self-acceptance. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotion regulation and self-acceptance among students in this environment. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample consisted of 65 students selected using a saturated sampling technique. The instruments used were an emotion regulation scale based on Gross's theory and a self-acceptance scale based on Jersild's theory. Based on the data analysis and discussion, it was found that the majority of 12th-grade students at Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda Bogor have a moderate level of emotion regulation, as evidenced by 42 respondents (64.6) being in the moderate category. Similarly, the level of self-acceptance among these students was also in the moderate category, with 33 respondents (50.8) falling into that group. Pearson correlation test results showed a positive and significant relationship between emotion regulation and self-acceptance, with a correlation coefficient of r  0.583 and a significance value of 0.001. This means that the higher the students’ ability to regulate their emotions, the higher their level of self-acceptance. Thus, the hypothesis in this study is accepted. This research suggests the need for the development of emotional regulation training programs to support the optimal development of students self-acceptance.

Abstract

Concentration in learning is a key factor that determines success in education. In this era, concentration has become one of the weaknesses of students. Students' concentration is very easily influenced. One of the factors that can affect concentration in learning is pressure and depression, which fall under the category of stress. The stress often experienced by students is academic stress, which occurs within the scope of academics or education. This research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between academic stress and the concentration of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Citeureup. This research method uses a quantitative research approach and the type of method used is the correlational method. From the correlation test conducted, a correlation value of -0.492 was obtained, which means that there is a significant negative correlation with very low correlation strength, where the very low correlation range is within 0.00-0.199. It can be interpreted that the higher the academic stress experienced by students, the lower the concentration of students' learning, and conversely, the lower the academic stress experienced by students, the higher the level of students' learning concentration.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period that is vulnerable to stress, including stress related to academic demands. Academic stress can cause pressure that triggers academic anxiety, a psychological condition that has the potential to disrupt students' concentration in learning. This concentration disorder can cause students to have difficulty in understanding learning materials. This study aims to determine the relationship between academic anxiety and the concentration of learning of class X students at SMAN 10 Bogor City. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research method. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and observations. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, normality tests and correlation tests. The population used was 319 students with a sample of 216 students, and the sampling technique used was area sampling. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between academic anxiety and learning concentration with a correlation coefficient value of -0.565 and a significance value of <0.001. This indicates a negative correlation, which means that the higher the academic anxiety, the lower the concentration of learning. Conversely, the lower the academic anxiety, the higher the concentration of learning. So, it can be concluded that academic anxiety has a relationship with learning concentration, and the relationship is a negative relationship.

Abstract

This research is motivated by student behavior that reflects a lack of self-confidence and dependence on teachers or parents, which poses a problem in terms of student independence. Therefore, this study aims to determine the forms of parenting styles applied to students, assess the level of student independence, and analyze the relationship between parenting styles and student independence. This study uses a quantitative correlational method. The data collection was conducted using a parenting style scale based on Hurlock’s theory and a student independence scale based on Steinberg’s theory. The researcher aims to explore the relationship between parenting styles and student independence at SMPIT Al-Khairiyyah in a thorough and comprehensive manner. Data were collected through questionnaires using a survey method. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 26.0, with the hypothesis tested through Pearson Product-Moment correlation analysis. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between parenting styles and student independence. This is statistically proven by a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of 0.661 A coefficient of determination of 0.437 indicates that 43.7% of the variance in student independence can be explained by the parenting style variable, suggesting a strong and significant relationship between the two variables.
