Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a very critical period and has become an epidemic that has spread throughout the world, thus affecting all aspects of people's lives in the world. The increasing demand related to information technology automation since the Covid-19 pandemic has been followed by increasing job demands for employees in the information technology industry. In line with increasing job demands, the phenomenon of burnout and turnover intention is faced by company X. High job demands can cause fatigue and can influence employees to leave the organization or company. There is a relationship between job demands and turnover intention, but this relationship is not strong (weak) so a burnout mediator role is needed. The purpose of this research is to look at the role of burnout as a mediator in the relationship between job demands and turnover intention. Turnover intention is a deliberate action with full awareness to leave the organization. Job demands are the physical, psychological, social and organizational aspects related to work that are needed to support both physical and psychological demands that are associated with physical and psychological harm. Burnout is a symptom of emotional exhaustion and a negative view (cynicism) of what one does. The number of samples in this study was 71 people. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with convenience sampling. Measuring the variable of turnover intention uses a measuring tool, measuring burnout using the burnout assessment tool, measuring job demands using the job demands-resources questionnaire. The results of this research are that there is a relationship between job demands and burnout. There is a role of burnout as a mediator in the relationship between job demands and intention to leave work.

Abstract

Human resources are important in a company. Companies generally employ employees according to their respective capacities. Being an employee requires someone to adapt in the workplace, because they are sometimes placed in various divisions that require cooperation and good relationships with other people. However, workplace bullying also often occurs by co-workers or other seniors, so this is an important thing that must also be paid attention to, because it can hinder many things, including the performance of employees who experience this. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and workplace bullying employees in PT. X in Padang City. The independent variable in this research is self-esteem while the dependent variable is workplace bullying. The measuring instruments used in this research are the self-esteem scale and the workplace bullying scale. The sampling technique in this research used a saturated sampling technique. The sample in this research was 108 employees of the company. Validity and reliability testing in this research used the Cronbach's Alpha technique. The validity coefficient results on the self-esteem scale move from rix=0.327 to rix=0.783 with a reliability coefficient value of α=0.914, while the validity coefficient results on the workplace bullying scale move from rix=0.393 to rix=0.782 with a reliability coefficient value of α=0.927 . Based on data analysis, a correlation value of -0.663 was obtained with a significance level of 0.000, which means the hypothesis was accepted. This shows that there is a strong and significant relationship between self-esteem and workplace bullying employees in PT. X in the city of Padang.

Abstract

Every child has the right and obligation to receive education. Teachers and students are two important elements in realizing quality education. Education is important to improve human quality in accordance with the changes and developments of the times. Education is a window to the world that opens people's thoughts and thought patterns in a more advanced direction and will later compete in the world of work. Quality education is very important to support human development which is based on good learning methods and depends on the learning process at school, so that every student is able to achieve learning goals. One of the important things to achieve this learning is motivation. Learning motivation is an urge that arises from within the student to learn in order to achieve the goals that have been set. Besides that, the teacher's efforts in learning are an important factor in learning success, especially regarding interpersonal communication that teachers have between students. Therefore, this is very important for further research. This research aims to determine the relationship between teacher and student interpersonal communication on student learning motivation. The independent variable in this research is interpersonal communication and the dependent variable is learning motivation. The subjects in this research were students of SMA PGRI 4 Padang City. Validity and reliability testing in this research used the Cronbach's Alpha technique. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a relationship between teacher and student interpersonal communication and student learning motivation.

Abstract

Covid-19 caused economic deflation in Indonesia because of the limitation of physical interaction between humans, so that the organization could not operate optimally. In this case, companies in Indonesia have to prepare strategies aimed at restoring the economy, one of which is by maximizing the potential of employees in achieving organizational goals. Employees in a company have a crucial role, so it is necessary to optimize employees to achieve organizational success. Maintaining job satisfaction is the best way to optimize potential employees. Employee job satisfaction is predicted by the participation in decision making, including with the hope. This study aims to determine the role of mediation between variables. The participants amounted to 447 represented by approximately 100 employees from four industrial sectors (modern retail, automotive, life insurance, and property). The study was conducted with a quantitative approach using the Employee PDM, Hope, and Job Satisfaction measurements. The results show that participation in decision making to job satisfaction mediated by hope through mediation tests (p <0.005). To increase job satisfaction, employees need to increase their involvement in organizational decision making which also increases their expectations. This study proves that the level of participation can have a positive impact on the organization, which has an impact on job satisfaction in the form of more effective performance. In addition, this also affects the employee's encouragement to complete his work. Furthermore, hope can have a significant indirect effect in the relationship between participation in making decisions and job satisfaction.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, more precisely in March, the world was shaken by the Corona Virus, which is better known as Covid-19. The corona virus first started to enter Indonesia in the city of Depok, West Java and continued to spread throughout other areas of Indonesia. This virus has a big impact on various aspects of human life, because residents are required to stay at home and do everything at home so as not to become infected with the Covid virus. As a result of the Covid-19 case, the Indonesian government has made various efforts to break the chain of spread of Covid-19, one of which is the policies recommended by the government for companies to implement, namely the implementation of employees working from home or working from office while still implementing the health protocols that have been previously arranged. It is hoped that working employees will continue to do good work for the company, even though there will be anxiety about working in the midst of a pandemic. Researchers used anxiety as a moderator by dividing high anxiety and low anxiety. It is hoped that the condition of employees with high or low levels of anxiety will play a role in the influence of perceptions of organizational support on work performance. The number of samples is 100 people. The data collection technique is a quantitative research method. The results of this research are perceptions of participating organizations' support for work among employees with low levels of anxiety. However, when anxiety levels are high, perceptions of organizational support do not contribute to work.

Abstract

Perempuan tumbuh dengan berbagai peran yang terbentuk di masyarakat. Secara umum, perempuan diharapkan berkontribusi dalam menjaga kesejahteraan dan keseimbangan di dalam keluarga. Sedangkan secara spesifik, prioritas anak perempuan dalam budaya kolektivis adalah menjadi anak yang “baik”, meliputi kemampuan untuk menjaga kondisi harmonis dalam keluarga. Kendati demikian, diketahui anak perempuan yang mulai beranjak dewasa masih sulit memahami kompleksnya menjawab peran tersebut. Ketidakhadiran kondisi harmonis dalam keluarga memiliki porsi dalam kemunculan distres psikologis pada individu. Salah satu faktor protektif dari distres psikologis adalah empati, yakni kemampuan untuk memahami pandangan dan perasaan orang lain tanpa berada pada situasi serupa. Empati dapat mendorong pembentukan perilaku prososial dan afek diri yang lebih positif, sehingga memungkinan anak perempuan dewasa memiliki interaksi yang lebih harmonis bersama keluarga dan kondisi psikologis yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mediasi melalui empati dalam hubungan keharmonisan keluarga terhadap distres psikologis pada anak perempuan dewasa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplanatori non-eksperimental dengan teknik pengambilan data purposive sampling, melibatkan sebanyak 202 partisipan wanita dengan rentang usia 18-40 tahun (M=24, SD=3,34). Pengukuran terhadap variabel penelitian dilakukan menggunakan alat ukur Family Harmony Scale-24 (FHS-24), General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12), dan Basic Empathy Scale (BES). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa empati memiliki efek mediasi dalam hubungan antara keharmonisan keluarga dan distres psikologis pada anak perempuan dewasa. Dapat disimpulkan, tingkat keharmonisan keluarga dan empati yang lebih tinggi dapat membantu menurunkan tingkat distres psikologis. Hasil penelitian juga mendukung aplikasi intervensi melalui pendekatan empathic communication untuk meningkatkan kondisi keharmonisan keluarga dan menurunkan distres psikologis pada anak perempuan dewasa.

Abstract

Distress psikologis merupakan masalah kesehatan mental yang umum dialami oleh anak perempuan dewasa terutama ketika terjadi masalah terkait relasi dengan ibunya. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi keluarga dan empati memiliki peran penting dalam memengaruhi tingkat distress psikologis pada anak perempuan dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran penting empati sebagai penghubung krusial dalam dinamika yang melibatkan komunikasi keluarga dan distress psikologis pada anak perempuan dewasa, terutama dalam konteks relasi mereka dengan ibu. Sebanyak 202 individu terlibat dalam proses penelitian ini. Pengukuran aspek-aspek yang relevan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Skala Komunikasi Keluarga (FCS) untuk menilai tingkat kepuasan komunikasi dalam keluarga, Skala Empati Dasar (BES) untuk mengukur tingkat empati, dan Kuesioner Kesehatan Umum-12 (GHQ-12) versi Indonesia untuk menilai gejala distress psikologis yang dirasakan oleh partisipan. Hasil dari analisis regresi linier mengindikasikan bahwa komunikasi keluarga memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam memprediksi tekanan psikologis (c = -0.5592, p < 0.000). Selain itu, temuan utama mendapati pengaruh tidak langsung dari variabel komunikasi keluarga pada distress psikologis melalui empati sebagai mediator. Dari analisis ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa empati memainkan peran penting dalam memediasi hubungan antara komunikasi dalam keluarga dengan tingkat distress psikologis yang dialami. Temuan ini mendorong kesimpulan bahwa tingkat kepuasan terhadap komunikasi dalam keluarga terutama dengan ibu, dapat menjadi kunci bagi tingkat empati pada anak perempuan dewasa. Dengan demikian, individu dapat memperoleh keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk mengelola stresor sehari-hari dengan lebih efektif. Penelitian ini mendukung pengembangan intervensi komunikasi empatik pada konteks ibu dan anak perempuan dewasa untuk mengatasi tekanan psikologis yang dirasakan anak perempuan dewasa.

Abstract

Teenagers are the age group that accesses social media the most for several purposes such as communicating, seeking information, seeking entertainment, etc. The large use of social media among teenagers can provide opportunities for teenagers to become victims of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying can have negative impact on the physical and mental health of its victims and therefore protective factors are needed from the negative impacts that arise. In this case, researchers want to know the relationship between cyberbullying and forgiveness in teenagers. This research uses a systematic literature review method by searching for articles with the help of Publish or Perish software based on keywords determined by the researcher. Based on these keywords, researchers found more than 600 articles that were published in 2018-2023 and then 16 articles that were closely related to this research were used. The research results show that cyberbullying is related to forgiveness because based on several studies it was found that forgiveness is a protective factor from the negative impact of cyberbullying. Adolescents who practice forgiveness will preventing victims from taking revenge against perpetrators and preventing victims from becoming perpetrators of cyberbullying, have fewer negative influences, have higher life satisfaction, mental health, happiness, psychological well-being and subjective well-being, and process anger appropriately. The implications of this research refer to the importance of the environment around teenagers such as parents, teachers, etc. to suppress risk factors for cyberbullying and an understanding of the importance of forgiveness also needs to be instilled in teenagers when cyberbullying occurs to them so that it can reduce the negative effects that can arise.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia at the beginning of 2020 has been designated as a non-natural national disaster which creates a public health emergency, so preventive efforts are needed to overcome the pandemic. The implementation of work from home (WFH) is an effort to prevent the spread of the virus within City X government agencies. An initial study conducted by researcher found that the ASN performance management system in the X City Government during the implementation of WFH still feels ineffective due to the control system not being fulfilled and even some agency resources being deemed not ready to implement the WFH system. This research aim to analyze the work management of X City Government employees during normal times and the Covid-19 pandemic period or the period of adaptation to new habits. Researcher used a qualitative descriptive approach which aims to describe in depth the performance of X City Government Employees during the Normal and Pandemic periods. The main data collection tool was FGD with 30 representatives of several regional organizations in the X City government. In addition, researchers involved 433 ASN employees in X City to fill out a survey regarding performance during normal times, during the pandemic and during the adaptation to new habits. Data from FGDs and surveys were analyzed using simple qualitative and quantitative analysis with an interactive analysis model with steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research found that the X City Government's ASN performance management during normal times had been implemented in accordance with work management principles, although there is a decrease compared to employee performance in normal times. Recommendation from the results of this research can be used as study material regarding the performance of X City Government employees during normal times and during the pandemic.

Abstract

Kasus perceraian di Indonesia sendiri masih sangat tinggi dan menduduki peringkat ke-7 di Asia dengan kasus fatherless paling tinggi ke-3 di dunia. Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa perceraian dapat berdampak pada kondisi psikologis anak dalam jangka panjang. Perceraian yang terjadi pada saat usia remaja, biasanya akan sulit untuk dimaafkan. Sebagaimana data survei menunjukkan bahwa 73% dari 20 anak korban perceraian belum memaafkan orang tuanya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana forgiveness pada perempuan dewasa awal yang dibesarkan tanpa kehadiran ayah akibat perceraian. Penelitian kualitatif digunakan agar dapat melihat dan menggambarkan dengan jelas dinamika yang ingin diketahui. Kemudian, paradigma interpretif digunakan dalam penelitian. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis yang berfokus pada pemahaman mendalam tentang bagaimana individu merasakan, memahami, dan menginterpretasikan dunia mereka. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu purposive sampling, dengan karakteristik subjek perempuan dewasa awal (20-40 tahun); tidak tinggal serumah dengan ayah sejak perceraian orang tua dan tinggal bersama nenek, kakek, serta ibu; perceraian orang tua terjadi karena perselingkuhan dari pihak ayah; dan perceraian terjadi ketika masa remaja (9-12 tahun). Adapun jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu dua orang. Alat ukur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Heartland Forgiveness Scale dengan teknik analisa data yaitu analisis tematik. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan terkait aspek forgiveness, kedua partisipan telah memaafkan dari segi aspek forgiveness of self dan forgiveness of situation. Sedangkan, pada aspek forgiveness of others terdapat perbedaan dari masing-masing partisipan.
