Abstract

Leadership entails crafting out ideologies and formulating plans that would foster development and alleviate the problems of the society. President Xi Jinping has proffered a methodology on how to study historical phenomena and its inherent problems. His ideology was built on existing thoughts of two prominent Chinese leaders, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping. This study examines the thoughts and ideas of President Xi with the aim of exposing his blueprints for the economic planning and development of China. Data obtained through typical case sampling and content analysis was used for this study. Certain factors such as economic, political, cultural, social and ecological development were selected for this study. It adopts the theory of historical materialism to comprehend this study. It ascertains that a society’s mode of production will determine its social, political and intellectual development. It argues that the political leadership of a country should engineer the socio-economic development of the citizenry by making full use of the productive forces of the economy. Thus, President Xi has highlighted 14 basic areas in which government should focus to expedite socio-economic development and progress of the nation. This work concludes that the interplay of the productive forces of the economy through the vision of the political leadership of the state can actually champion the required socio-economic development and advancement.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of improving the quality of human resources, especially Civil Servants (PNS), in supporting effective and efficient government performance. This study aims to determine the effect of increasing job training on the work productivity of civil servants at the Patokan Village Office, Kraksaan District, Probolinggo Regency. The research method used is a quantitative method. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents who were civil servants at the village office. The data analysis technique used is a simple linear regression analysis to see the relationship between job training variables and work productivity. The results of the study show that job training has a positive and significant effect on the work productivity of civil servants. This is evidenced by a significance value of less than 0.05, as well as a determination coefficient that shows that job training makes a significant contribution to increasing employee work productivity. The conclusion of this study is that the increase in job training has a direct effect on increasing the work productivity of civil servants. Therefore, it is recommended that the village office continue to develop relevant, structured, and appropriate job training programs according to the needs of employees to improve overall organizational performance.

Abstract

This study is based on the rise of the gig economy in Indonesia, particularly in the online transportation sector, which offers work flexibility but often comes with economic vulnerability for its workers. Online drivers face income uncertainty and a lack of social security, threatening the welfare of their households. This study uses qualitative methods with a literature review and in-depth interviews to examine these issues. The theoretical framework combines the concepts of the precariat, digital political-economic analysis, and human security perspectives to understand the vulnerabilities experienced by workers. The results show that the flexible work system based on digital platforms creates economic uncertainty for online driver workers. This situation is characterized by fluctuating and unguaranteed income, a partnership status that is vulnerable to termination at any time, and very limited social protection. In conclusion, the pseudo-flexibility in this gig economy model creates precarious conditions that undermine the economic security of online drivers and negatively impact their families' welfare. Therefore, structural efforts are needed to improve protection and certainty for workers in Indonesia's gig economy ecosystem.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of multi-stakeholder collaboration in the implementation of policies by the Kendari City Government in Southeast Sulawesi Province, which established the Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD). This collaborative practice is then formulated as a framework for the characteristics or key elements of sustainable collaboration. A case study methodology was used to explore various types of data for this case study of multi-stakeholder collaboration practices in Kendari City.Data were collected from sources that are more qualitative in character through documentary analysis, in- depth interviews, direct observations and field visits. The in-depth interview framework was developed through detailed documentary analysis. Open-ended and semi- structured duplication with stakeholders to achieve the goal of understanding TKPKD collaboration practices in the implementation of poverty alleviation policies. The results  of  the  study  indicate  that  multi-party collaboration practices in a series of interacting TKPKD institutional conditions can lead to sustainable transformation by implementing the main characteristics or elements of collaboration, namely stakeholder involvement, government roles, social learning, institutional capacity and collaborative leadership which when conceptualized will ultimately lead to transformation in the implementation of sustainable poverty alleviation policies.
