Abstract

This research take on focus the Speaking ability on producing sentences with schedule text as the basic material on first semester students on hospitality program. Research showed that effort to improve students’ speaking skill which is based on productivity can be used schedule text as the trigger. The steps can be divided into 3 such as introducing relevant vocabulary where vocabulary showed in matching column in similar number, inserting small text which support the topic and the core activity is producing sentences. The sentences produced are classified into 3 groups according to how tight the dependency to the text provided. The research found out that (a) all students produce minimal 5 sentences and even far more. No students left in achieve this type of sentences. The sentences are produces by linked information on a certain line. (b) A number of students faced it difficult to produce sentences type 2 since it needs more focus in comparing data from the schedule text. Only 85% student got it easy while the others need more time to produce one. The sentences here produced by doing comparison or linking between lines information. (c) For group 3 where sentences need knowledge background to support it is achieved by 55% students. Here, sentences produced by implementing intratext which means another text must be there so the sentences become larger or deeper than the data on schedule text itself. It seemed that not each student has enough knowledge about airlines or small text which is provided before the core activity is neglected. Lack of knowledge or effort made it difficult for some students, but still very essay for others. They can produce many sentences in this group in a minute. From the results, it is suggested for students to do reading activity on interesting topic or article supporting the learning process.

This problem will be discussed using the SWOT analysis technique. This research is a qualitative research supported by the types of data and data sources, namely qualitative data and quantitative data as well as primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the SWOT analysis technique, namely analyzing internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats) with the help of the Internal-External matrix and the SWOT matrix. In implementing the strategy for developing Kelan Beach as a sustainable tourist attraction, it also applies the principles of Green Tourism which lead to environmental preservation. With the condition of Kelan Beach where the environment still tends to be natural, the application of the principles of environmental preservation is a must. Preservation of the environment around Kelan Beach must involve the local community, government, businessmen and visiting tourists. The government, both regional and village governments, is obliged to issue a policy regarding environmental management around Kelan Beach which is based on the principle of preservation. Abstract

The reseach is held in The Samsara Living Museum in Jungutan Village, Bebandem Distict, Karangasem regency which displays the cycle of Balinese life starting from the fetus in the womb, born, alive, die and cremation. Unfortunately, the collection to display is very limited compared to other museums around. The research followed qualitative approach whereas data collected by observation and interview with informan. Finally, this research found out two conclusions such as (a) The name of Samsara is taken from the phase of reborn and ready to begin another cycle after previous life. Based on this principle, human is suggested to live with care and love but avoid himself to do bad things because the world imply cause-result effect; (b) Realizing the display is limited compared to museum in general, narrative skill is a way to attract more visitors to come. Since it is cultural-based museum, some visitors not knowing well the ritual on display. Here, the guide explained them carefully through suggestive-narrative where the explanation leads listeners to fell involved in the activity and added another meaning, that is cultural meaning. It is delivered slowly to convince visitors so that limited display does not a problem at all.

Abstract

An organization manage HR with disciplined attitudes and behavior. Employee discipline can have a strong impact on an organization to achieve success. This study aims to determine the effect of compensation and work discipline partially on employee performance at the "Eka Karya" Botanical Garden Plant Conservation Center in Bali, which in one year in 2018 showed that there were employee delays above 47.10%. Therefore, the authors conducted a study by testing the hypothesis about how much influence compensation and work discipline had on employee performance at the Bali Botanic Garden. The approach of this research is quantitative research. So, to answer this hypothesis, it is done by taking a sample of 99 respondents. Data were tested using validity, reliability and classical assumptions and analyzed by multiple linear regression, T test, and F test. Based on the results of the analysis, a conclusion can be drawn as follows: Compensation (X1) has a positive and significant effect on performance (Y) at the Botanical Gardens Conservation Center "Eka Karya" Bali. The amount of regression coefficient b1X1 which is positive is 0.356. This test is supported by a statistical test t (t - test) which states that t count is greater than t table, which means H1 is accepted. Work discipline (X2) has a positive and significant effect on performance (Y) in the Botanical Gardens Conservation Center "Eka Karya" Bali. This can be seen from the regression coefficient b2X2 which is positive at 0.218. This test is supported by a statistical test t (t-test) which states that t count is greater than t table, which means H2 is accepted. Simultaneously compensation (X1) and work discipline (X2) have a positive and significant effect on performance (Y) in the Botanical Gardens Conservation Center "Eka Karya" Bali. This is evidenced through multiple regression analysis Y = 20,556 + 0,356X1 + 0,218X2. In addition, it is confirmed by the F (F-test) test where F count is greater than F table, which means Ho is rejected and H3 is accepted. Compensation is the dominant variable that influences performance in the Botanical Gardens Conservation Center "Eka Karya" Bali with a standarized beta coefficient of 0.553.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of communication (X1) and work discipline (X2) partially or simultaneously on employee performance (Y) at Grand Ixora Kuta Resort. The respondents used in this study were all employees of Grand Ixora Kuta Resort with a total of 86 respondents. The data used in this study are primary data originating from questionnaires, then the questionnaires were tested using validity and reliability tests followed by classic assumption tests and hypotheses proved using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that communication (X1) and work discipline (X2) had a partial effect on employee performance (Y) at Grand Ixora Kuta Resort, this is indicated by the value of the calculated communication variable t (X1) of 3.254> t table which is 1.989 with a value significance of 0.002 <0.05 and the value of t counts the work discipline variable (X2) of 4.406> t table which is 1.989 with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. F count value of 37,629 is greater than F table of 2,716 (df1 = 3, df2 = 82) so that it can be concluded that simultaneous communication variables (X1) and work discipline (X2) affect employee performance (Y) at Grand Ixora Kuta Resort . The coefficient of determination shows the value of R Square of 0.476. This shows that 47.6% of employee performance (Y) in Grand Ixora Kuta Resort is influenced by communication (X1), and work discipline (X2), while the remaining 52.4% is influenced by other variables outside of this study.
