Abstract

Single-use menstrual waste is a serious issue since they consist of ingredients that make it difficult to biodegrade and are contaminated with blood and other bodily fluids, that could possibly contaminate other waste. Most women in DKI Jakarta still use single-use menstrual pads despite the availability of reusable alternatives. With the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study analyzed factors that affects intention to use reusable menstrual products, as well as the possible waste generation from various menstrual products and reccomendations for their management in DKI Jakarta. This study applied quantitative methods using online survey to 448 participants. Factors that positively influence intention to use reusable menstrual products are Subjective norm, Perceived behavioral control, and Attitude (sig. < 0.05), while Knowledge has no significant influence (sig. > 0.05). Attitude is the factor with most contribution (sig. < 0.001) with highest beta value of 0,415. DKI Jakarta could potentially generate 42,072,587.52 kg/year of menstrual pads waste; 73.91 kg/year of menstrualcups waste; and 4,909.08 kg/year of reusable pads waste. Recommendations given are the shifting of single-use menstrual products users to reusable menstrual products to reduce single-use menstrual products waste and improving the waste management system for single-use menstrual pads waste in DKI Jakarta

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the performance of the bureaucracy in distributing social assistance for the Family Hope Program (PKH) at the Langkat Regency Social Service. PKH social assistance is a program that aims to reduce poverty and improve community welfare by providing regular cash assistance to poor families. However, the effectiveness of this program is very dependent on the performance of the bureaucracy in organizing the distribution of this aid. Data analysis was carried out using a descriptive method to explain the performance of the bureaucracy in implementing the PKH program. The research results show that the bureaucratic performance in administering PKH social assistance in Langkat Regency has several weaknesses, including the slow process of distributing aid, a lack of coordination between related agencies, and irregularities in aid distribution. These factors hinder the effectiveness of the program and cause dissatisfaction among aid recipients. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Langkat Regency Social Service improve coordination between related agencies, improve the aid distribution system, and increase supervision of the implementation of the PKH program. Necessary to strengthen the capacity of field officers through training and education related to social assistance management. This is expected to improve bureaucratic performance in implementing the PKH program so that the program's goal of reducing poverty can be achieved more optimally

Abstract

The film Dancing in the Rain tells the story of Banyu, a mentally retarded person who experiences discrimination and bullying. As a mentally retarded person, Banyu has limitations in interaction and communication. Even though he often gets bullied, Banyu has two friends who always support him, namely Radin and Kirana. This research aims to determine the communication strategies of disabled groups in the film Dancing in the Rain. The film shows several scenes of interaction and communication between disabled characters in society. The theory used in the research is Mark Orbe's Co-Culture to analyze communication strategies. This research uses qualitative methods for data collection. The analysis uses the descriptive method of the Charles Sanders Pierce Semiotics model. This semiotic model consists of three, namely representamen (sign), object, and interpretant. Researchers used 18 scenes in the film that show Banyu's interactions with friends and the community. The results of this research show that people with disabilities use non-assertive separation and non-assertive accommodation strategies. Apart from that, there was a change in communication, namely assertive accommodation. As a disabled person, Banyu is more sincere and open to his two friends Radin and Kirana
