Abstract

This article discusses the role of private tutoring at home as a solution to overcome student learning difficulties. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a focus on Mrs. Cicik's tutoring in Simokerto Village, Surabaya. This research aims to describe the learning process, learning methods, obstacles, solutions, and evaluation of learning methods applied in the tutoring. The results showed that Bu Cicik's tutoring serves students from kindergarten to elementary school with learning methods tailored to the needs and characteristics of each student. The methods used include writing, parable, and spelling methods for kindergarten students, as well as special tricks to solve math problems for elementary school students. However, this tutoring also faces some obstacles, such as the different ways of understanding students and students' difficulties in understanding the material taught at school. Ms. Cicik overcomes these obstacles by understanding how each student learns, simplifying complex concepts, and applying diverse evaluation methods to monitor student progress. This study concludes that private home tutoring like Mrs. Cicik's can be an effective alternative to overcome students' learning difficulties. Flexible, individualized learning methods that focus on students' personal needs are proven to help improve understanding and motivation

Abstract

Abstrak: Sejumlah aktivitas dalam organisasi karang taruna ini dapat menjadi sarana untuk pemerolehan sejumlah karakter dan mengembangkan kreativitas generasi muda. Organisasi ini tidak hanya menjadi sarana pengabdian masyarakat, tetapi juga menjadi tempat bagi generasi muda untuk belajar berorganisasi, berinovasi, dan memberikan kontribusi nyata bagi lingkungan sekitarnya. Hasil obsevasi awal di Organisasi Karang Taruna di Desa Kedungturi Kecamatan Taman Kabupaten Sidoarjo bahwa Partisipasi para anggota Karang Taruna pada setiap kegiatan/aktivitas yang telah dilaksanakan selama awal terbentuk sampai sekarang dapat dikategorikan baik tetapi kurang aktif. Karang Taruna Desa Kedungturi, Kecamatan Taman, Kabupaten Sidoarjo, memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan kreativitas masyarakat dan pemuda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kontribusi Karang Taruna terhadap peningkatan kreativitas tersebut. Metode penelitian kuantitatif digunakan dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi partisipan, dan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kontribusi positif Karang Taruna terhadap kreativitas masyarakat dan pemuda di Desa Kedungturi, ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan partisipasi dalam kegiatan kreatif dan pengembangan keterampilan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pendidikan sains dalam pembentukan karakter dan moralitas peserta didik. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka, di mana data diperoleh dari berbagai literatur seperti jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan dokumen pendidikan yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan sains tidak hanya mengembangkan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga dapat menjadi sarana efektif untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Melalui pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual, inkuiri, dan berbasis masalah, peserta didik didorong untuk berpikir kritis sekaligus membentuk sikap ilmiah dan moral yang positif. Peran guru sebagai fasilitator dan teladan sangat penting dalam proses ini. Dengan demikian, pendidikan sains memiliki potensi besar dalam membentuk generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara akademik, tetapi juga berkarakter kuat dan berintegritas tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the process of developing entrepreneurial soft skills as a strategy to increase the economic independence of adult students at the Community Learning Center (CLC) Kinabalu, Malaysia. The background of this study is limited access to formal education, low non-technical skills, and minimal entrepreneurial awareness among Package C students from families of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). The study used a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation during training, and document analysis. The intervention process was carried out online for four days with reference to the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and andragogy principles. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns of strengthening soft skills competencies including effective communication, adaptive leadership, creative problem solving, self- and time management, adaptation to change, emotional intelligence, results orientation, and networking. The results of the study revealed three main themes: (1) internalization of entrepreneurial values through experiential learning, (2) transformation of self-confidence into courage to start small businesses based on local resources, and (3) utilization of digital media as a means of developing business networks. This study concludes that strengthening local asset-based soft skills can shape entrepreneurial readiness in adult migrant communities, while also being a model that can be replicated in the context of non-formal education in border areas or other vulnerable communities.

Abstract

Abstrak: Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji urgensi literasi digital dalam pendidikan non formal, serta mengidentifikasi peluang, tantangan, dan strategi penguatan yang dapat dilakukan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber ilmiah, termasuk jurnal terakreditasi SINTA, buku, dan laporan kebijakan terkait. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital memiliki urgensi yang tinggi dalam mendukung pembelajaran sepanjang hayat di PNF. Peluang penguatan literasi digital antara lain muncul melalui dukungan kebijakan pemerintah, ketersediaan teknologi pembelajaran, serta penerapan model hybrid learning. Di sisi lain, tantangan yang dihadapi mencakup keterbatasan akses internet dan perangkat, rendahnya kompetensi tutor, serta kesadaran masyarakat yang masih minim terhadap etika digital. Oleh karena itu, strategi penguatan yang dapat dilakukan meliputi peningkatan kapasitas tutor melalui pelatihan, pengembangan modul digital berbasis kearifan lokal, serta kolaborasi antara PKBM, perguruan tinggi, pemerintah, dan swasta.Kata Kunci: Literasi Digital, Pendidikan Non Formal, PKBM, Strategi Pembelajaran.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a crucial element in the success of education, especially in the context of non-formal education such as the equivalency program Paket A. This study aims to explore the contribution of tutors in enhancing the learning enthusiasm of learners at PKBM Mekar Asri Surabaya. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation involving the head of PKBM, two tutors, parents, and three learners. The findings reveal that tutors function not only as instructors but also as facilitators, motivators, and mentors who can create a pleasant, flexible, and contextual learning environment. Tutors apply a personal approach, provide recognition, and utilize both face-to-face and independent learning methods tailored to the learners’ needs. Furthermore, the role of parents is also proven to be important in shaping learners’ external motivation through moral support and a supportive learning environment. This study emphasizes that collaboration between tutors and parents is essential in creating an effective and sustainable learning process that can enhance learners’ motivation and improve their quality of life through non-formal education.

Abstract

Garbage is indeed a problem that always exists in people's lives, and is always looking for ways to anticipate or mitigate the negative impacts that it will cause. One of the breakthroughs is the waste bank which aims to change people's assumptions about waste and also make people aware to participate. The purpose of this study was to find out how the participation of the community in environmental hygiene management through the waste bank program. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is through four stages of data analysis which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results showed that the community in Sukanagara Tanjungsari Village, Tasikmalaya City had participated in the implementation of the waste bank program in various stages, starting from the planning, implementation, enjoying the results and evaluation stages. The conclusion of this research is that the community participates in the stages of implementing the waste bank program for environmental hygiene management in Tanjungsari.

Abstract

Online learning is a learning process that is carried out without face to face and can be anywhere using an internet connection, online learning uses various applications to support the learning process. The purpose of this research is to know the process of online learning, the activeness of learning citizens, and the relationship of online learning to the activities of learning citizens. The number of respondents in this study were 120 students. This type of research uses a quantitative approach. Data collection using a questionnaire. The results showed that: (a) the online learning process of the package C equivalence education program at the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) was in the very good category. (b) the activeness of citizens learning the package C equivalence education program in the very good category and (c) there is a relationship between online learning in the Covid 19 pandemic era and the activities of citizens studying the package C equivalence education program in PKBM throughout Malang Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the effectiveness of parent-child communication on children's self-confidence. The theory used is self-confidence from Lauster's theory (2012) and Communication Effectiveness from Maulana and Gumelar's theory (2013). This study uses a quantitative approach with the correlation method. The samples taken in this study were 50 children aged 12-16 years. The data collection technique was a self-confidence questionnaire with 25 statements and a communication effectiveness questionnaire with 25 statements. data processing techniques using validity test, reliability test, normality test, simple linear regression test and hypothesis testing. Test data analysis using the Z test on the hypothesis test. The results showed (1) The results of the calculation of the level of self-confidence of children aged 12-16 years with an average of 74.30 were in the medium category. (2) the normality test on the self-confidence questionnaire with a significant level of 0.05, namely Lcount > Ltable (0.496 > 0.1246) this indicates that the sample comes from a normal distribution. (3) the effectiveness of communication between parents and children aged 12-16 years in the communication effectiveness questionnaire with an average of 86.32 is in the high category. (4) the normality test on the communication effectiveness questionnaire is Lcount > Ltable (0.484 > 0.1246), this indicates that the sample comes from a normal distribution. (5) with the average score of the self-confidence questionnaire = 74.30, while the average score on the communication effectiveness questionnaire = 86.2. This can be obtained through the Z test which shows that Zcount = 2.270 and Ztable = 1.65 with = 0.05 and N = 50. In accordance with the criteria for acceptance and rejection of the hypothesis, the hypothesis is accepted if Zcount > Ztable where 2.270 > 1.65 from these calculations it can be seen that H1 (Hypothesis) is accepted. This shows that there is a significant effect between the effectiveness of communication and the self-confidence of children aged 12-16 years in Pulau Tagor Village, Serbajadi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penyimpangan perilaku kesopanan pada komunitas remaja permata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 5 orang remaja yang ada di komunitas permata usia 13-18 tahun di Desa Bulan Jahe Kecamatan Barus Jahe Kabupaten Karo. Data yang di peroleh dalam penelitian ini diukur menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua penyimpangan perilaku kesopanan pada remaja di komunitas permata yaitu : 1) penyimpangan perilaku kesopanan berbahasa dengan mengucapkan beberapa bahasa kasar seperti kata anjir, bujang, bodat dengan sesama teman sepergaulannya, tetapi jika berbicara dengan orang tua tetap mengedepankan tata bahasa yang sopan, dan 2) penyimpangan perilaku kesopanan  tingkah laku dengan jarangnya remaja mengucapkan kata terima kasih, maaf, maupun tolong kepada sesama. Adapun faktor penyebab penyimpangan perilaku kesopanan pada remaja ialah faktor lingkungan dan faktor sekolah, diketahui bahwa kedua faktor ini sangat berperan besar dalam perubahan perilaku kesopanan berbahasa dan perilaku kesopanan tingkah laku remaja. Karena faktor lingkungan dan faktor sekolah ini remaja bertemu dengan orang baru yang semuanya memiliki perilaku kesopanan berbeda, sehingga jika ada satu saja perilaku kesopanan remaja yang berbeda dapat membuat remaja terikut dengan hal baru dilihat dan di dengarnya tersebut.
