Journal in Islamic Studies published by the Institute for Student Studies and Empowerment IAIN Purwokerto. Subjects include textual study and fieldwork with various perspectives on law, philosophy, mysticism, history, art, theology, and more. Initially, the journal only functioned as a print and electronic journal media that accommodated and published research results from theses/final assignments and/or part of theses/final assignments for students of IAIN Purwokerto S.1 and S.2, from multidisciplinary sciences. However, due to later developments with a wider audience, the journal has managed to invite scholars and researchers outside the Institute to contribute. Thus, Indonesian and non-Indonesian scholars have enriched studies published in journals. Although from the start Raushan Fikr did not present highly qualified scientific articles, the improvement — in terms of format, style, and academic quality — never stopped. Now with articles written in Indonesian, Arabic and English and with fair peer-review procedures, Raushan Fikr continues to publish research and studies related to Islamic studies with various dimensions and approaches. Raushan Fikr, published twice a year (1 volume and 2 numbers) in January and July, has always placed Islam and Muslims in the main focus of academic inquiry and invited comprehensive observations on Islam as a theological belief and system of society and Muslims as those who practice religion with many sides. This journal, serving as a forum for Islamic studies in Indonesia and other parts of the world in a local and challenging global context, supports theme-focused studies and interdisciplinary studies. Raushan Fikr has become a medium for diffusion and exchange of ideas and research findings, in such a way that researchers, writers and readers from various learning traditions have interacted in a scientific way.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of financial performance and maqasid al-shariah realization on the firm value of 12 Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia from 2016 to 2022, with a total of 84 observations. Using panel data regression and secondary data from audited reports and sustainability disclosures, the findings reveal that the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) negatively and significantly affects firm value, while Return on Assets (ROA) shows no significant effect. Both Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and the Operating Expense to Operating Income ratio (BOPO) have a significant negative impact. Meanwhile, maqasid al-shariah realization does not significantly influence firm value. These results suggest that in Islamic banking, firm value is more closely linked to operational efficiency and financing risk management than to capital adequacy, profitability, or maqasid compliance. The findings align with Quranic principles, Stakeholder Theory, and maqasid al-shariah theory, highlighting justice, efficiency, and social responsibility. This study provides strategic insights to strengthen governance and develop value-based policies for a more sustainable Islamic financial ecosystem.

Abstract

Instilling Islamic moral values in early childhood is essential for lifelong character development. In today’s digital era, educational games offer an engaging way to foster these values. This study examines the use of digital educational games at BA Ronowijayan Siman Ponorogo to nurture Islamic morals in young children. Through classroom observation, teacher interviews, and document analysis, the research finds that digital tools—such as Islamic storytelling apps and interactive value-based games—significantly support the cultivation of honesty, responsibility, politeness, and devotion. Teachers play a crucial role by selecting suitable content and guiding children’s use of technology. The integration of digital media increases learning motivation and strengthens the internalization of Islamic values in everyday behavior. The study suggests ongoing development of Islamic digital learning resources and stresses the need for teacher training in educational technology for early childhood education

Abstract

Meatball grinding facilities process meat-based products and are therefore required to obtain halal certification due to several critical control points, such as meat sourcing, additives, hygiene, and potential contamination. However, none of the facilities at Pasar Rakyat Tanjung Morawa currently hold halal certification. This study investigates the factors hindering the implementation of Halal Product Assurance in these facilities. Using an empirical juridical approach, supported by a case study and sociological perspective, data were collected through observations and interviews, then analyzed qualitatively through deductive reasoning. The findings show that the main internal barrier is the lack of legal awareness among both business operators and consumers. Externally, challenges include limited supervision by BPJPH, the scarcity of halal-certified slaughterhouses (RPHU/RPHR), and the high costs of certification. Ensuring halal compliance in these facilities is crucial not only for improving food quality and safety but also for building consumer trust and ensuring access to products that meet halal standards.

Abstract

Contemporary education seeks to cultivate in students a repertoire of essential competencies, including problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication. In this context, it is imperative that educators adopt pedagogical strategies that actively engage learners in the construction of knowledge. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) has emerged as a pedagogical approach capable of fostering active learner participation while simultaneously enhancing problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. This study examines the effectiveness and contextual suitability of PBL in mathematics instruction as a means of promoting active student engagement. The research was conducted at a State Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri) in Bantul District, Yogyakarta, involving a cohort of 30 fifth-grade students and their classroom teacher. Employing a qualitative methodology within a case study framework, the investigation drew upon multiple sources of evidence, including interviews, classroom observations, documentary analysis, and visual records. Data were processed using an interactive analytical model encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings indicate that the integration of PBL into mathematics teaching substantively enhances students’ active participation in the learning process. Moreover, PBL constitutes an effective pedagogical vehicle for advancing the objectives of Indonesia’s independent curriculum within the context of elementary madrasahs

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of digital marketing strategies employed by sharia-compliant insurance providers through social media, with a particular focus on their efficacy in engaging the millennial demographic in Perbaungan City. Adopting a qualitative research design, data were collected via systematic observation of digital content, documentation analysis, and in-depth interviews. Findings indicate that Facebook constitutes the predominant platform through which millennials access information on sharia insurance, accounting for 74.09% of user engagement, followed by TikTok (31.72%) and Instagram (22.14%). The most impactful promotional approaches comprise the deployment of interactive content, strategic collaborations with influencers, and the dissemination of educational yet compelling informational material. Furthermore, millennials display a marked preference for digital endorsements over conventional advertising. In light of these insights, sharia insurance providers are urged to refine and intensify social media–driven marketing strategies to ensure greater relevance, resonance, and alignment with the distinct needs and preferences of the millennial generation

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of asset inventory, asset utilization, and asset safeguarding on the optimization of fixed assets—specifically land and buildings—within the Government of North Labuhanbatu Regency, through the lens of Islamic economics. Regional fixed assets constitute a component of public wealth that necessitates management that is accountable, efficient, and purpose-driven. Adopting a quantitative research design, this study employed a survey method involving 60 respondents, all of whom are asset managers within the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression via SPSS Statistics (version 2025). The results reveal that both asset inventory and asset safeguarding exert a positive and statistically significant influence on fixed asset optimization. In contrast, asset utilization demonstrates a negative yet significant effect, suggesting that inappropriate or misaligned use may impede the optimization process. Collectively, the three variables exert a significant joint influence on fixed asset optimization. From an Islamic economic perspective, the stewardship of public assets constitutes an amanah (trust) that must be administered with fairness, efficiency, and a focus on public benefit (maslahah). Consequently, the implementation of a disciplined, integrated, and Sharia-compliant asset management framework is imperative to underpin sustainable public service delivery and regional development

Abstract

The telecommunications sector is a pivotal driver of Indonesia’s digital economic growth, particularly amid the rapid adoption of information and communication technologies. CV Digital Satelit Indonesia—a service enterprise specializing in telecommunications equipment repair—has expanded its operations by integrating Islamic economic principles. This study examines how service ethics, innovative pricing, and digital marketing influence business growth within a Sharia-compliant framework. Using a quantitative design, data from 50 purposively selected respondents were analyzed through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption checks, and t- and F-tests. Findings reveal that service ethics and price innovation have a statistically significant, positive impact on business development, while digital marketing shows no significant effect. Service ethics emerged as the strongest predictor (p = 0.001), indicating that delivery grounded in honesty, accountability, and integrity fosters greater trust and loyalty. The limited impact of digital marketing likely stems from promotional content lacking the emotional and spiritual depth needed to convey Islamic values effectively. Collectively, however, all independent variables significantly affect growth, highlighting the strategic value of embedding Sharia principles in service and pricing, alongside refining Islamic-oriented digital marketing to strengthen its persuasive capacity

Abstract

Islam, like other religions, encompasses two inseparable dimensions: the esoteric, which is transcendent and absolute, and the exoteric, which is structured, rational, and contextual. The challenge in contemporary reality lies in the predominance of normative, textual, and elitist approaches to religion, which often fail to adequately address the socio-cultural needs of humanity as a whole. This study seeks to advance a contextual theological approach within Islamic studies, an approach that bridges the transcendental values of religion with the lived realities of human existence. Employing a descriptive-qualitative method, supported by hermeneutical inquiry and critical analysis of religious texts in relation to their social contexts, the research demonstrates that a contextual theological perspective can reveal the humanistic dimensions of Islamic teachings that are frequently overlooked by purely doctrinal frameworks. The findings contribute positively to the development of Islamic studies that are more applicable and responsive to the challenges of the modern age. In this regard, the reconstruction of theological thought through a contextual approach emerges as an imperative in ensuring that Islam remains a religion of enduring relevance across time and place (salihun li kulli makanin wa zamani).

Abstract

The protracted conflict between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) remains one of the most enduring ethnopolitical confrontations in modern history. Despite initiatives such as the Oslo Process and the İmralı Talks, negotiations have consistently collapsed. This study examines the roots of these failures by integrating strategic negotiation theories—particularly BATNA and the Hurting Stalemate model—with perspectives from identity politics and collective trauma. Employing qualitative, thematic analysis of secondary sources, it argues that breakdowns cannot be explained solely through material or strategic lenses. Instead, they stem from entrenched ideological discord, symbolic marginalization, and structural asymmetries of power and recognition. The Turkish state’s reliance on coercion and systemic delegitimization of the PKK has impeded equitable dialogue. Conceptually, the article advances an interdisciplinary interpretation of negotiation failures and highlights the necessity of symbolic and psychosocial dimensions. Findings affirm that recognition, narrative pluralism, and legitimacy are essential to sustainable peace.
