Abstract

Organizational commitment is a behavior that is often interpreted as a strong desire of workers to be part of a certain organization, a desire to work hard to achieve organizational goals, and having confidence and awareness to accept organizational values and goals. To increase organizational commitment, researchers use the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as an intervention, EAP as a workplace-based program designed to assist in the identification and resolution of productivity problems. Human Resources staff must have a high commitment in an organization for maximum development in the company. The method used in this study is a quantitative experiment with subjects from the Human Resources department. The results of this study were 2 people who experienced low organizational commitment, by conducting several consultations with a counceling centered therapy approach which was carried out for 1 month resulting in less effective changes for employees who had organizational commitment problems

Abstract

Education is a tool to shape the character and identity of the nation's next generation, because education creates quality of the young people, high knowledge, broad insight, and able to compete in global developments. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of local cultural values in the formation of national character and culture based on the school environment. Using qualitative methods, data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and interpretation of events, using human instruments. The results of the analysis explain the implementation of local culture that has been applied in schools include: traditional food, local traditional toys and dances, wearing traditional East Java clothes, making miniature traditional houses, routine Istighosah every month, singing folk songs, banjari extra-curricular activities, tahfidz juz 30, habituation of 5S application, dhuhur prayers in congregation, salim/kiss hands when meeting parents, friendly prayers, art, and local cultural values. There are student self-development activities at school, including: Scouts, Flag Ceremony every Monday, commemoration of state holidays, wearing batik clothes on the first week of every month. Barriers to the implementation of local cultural values in character building and national culture in the school environment include: limited resources, time, environment, family, and friends.

Abstract

Enhancing digital storytelling through multicultural literature is a powerful tool for developing early childhood education's literacy skills. Educators can create immersive experiences that engage young learners from various backgrounds by weaving diverse stories from different cultures into digital platforms. This approach not only fosters a love for reading but also promotes cultural awareness and empathy. In this article, we will explore the significance of incorporating multicultural literature in digital storytelling to enrich the literacy skills of young children, providing them with a holistic and inclusive learning experience. Development This module adapts the Design and Development approach which involves 3 phases namely (i) requirements analysis, (ii) design and development, and (iii) Implementation and Evaluation. Module Implementation and Evaluation is implemented through a Quasi-Experimental approach. The data collection methods used are in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The sources of data are the community involved in the implementation of the Hybrid Learning Module and documents. The collection of research data has been obtained through in-depth interviews and document analysis of children’s work and teaching and learning records of teachers and parents. The interview results were transcribed verbatim, and conclusions were drawn based on thematic analysis. The findings of the study show that the implementation of the digital storytelling has a positive impact on the community involved in aspects of behavior, attitude, and practice, pedagogical competence and skills, learning achievement, interest, and motivation as well as smart teacher-parent sharing.

Abstract

Choosing the right day and month in Javanese culture is a meaningful tradition, full of cultural values ​​and beliefs passed down from generation to generation. This tradition not only serves as a guide for determining the time for important events such as weddings, circumcisions and other ceremonies, but also helps build the cultural identity of the Javanese people. This article discusses the origins, methods, and benefits of this tradition and how it has been preserved in the modern era. Additionally, this article also looks at how the "choose the dino" tradition can affect the psychological aspects of the individuals involved. This research was conducted qualitatively using interview methods and literature study. Through in-depth observations and interviews with community leaders and Javanese tradition experts, it was found that choosing a good day aims to ensure smooth and safe running of important events. This article uses Conformity theory and Vygotsky's developmental theory to understand the psychological and social impact of these traditions, showing how social interactions and inherited cultural values can strengthen cultural identity.

Abstract

The background of this study is the need to investigate how a foreign language young learner in Indonesian context acquires English using internet technology media. Specifically, it studied how an Indonesian child learns to speak English through the activities of watching English videos on YouTube and how the environment plays its roles in influencing the child’s success of learning English through the media. This research used the qualitative case study approach, and the data were gathered through interviews and observations. The main result found in the study is that watching English videos through YouTube is effective in helping the child acquire English.

Abstract

The study was done in a state senior high school in Sidoarjo, East Java. The tactics employed include observation and interviews. Researchers studied school culture, school management, and learning implementation in state high schools in Sidoarjo, East Java, as they used IT-based learning. Data from observations and interviews were evaluated to provide a full understanding of the school's teaching and learning processes. This study will watch and examine the teaching and learning process in state senior high schools in Sidoarjo, East Java. According to the findings of this study, the use of IT-based learning media in school is facilitated by the usage of laptops and projectors, the GDB Online application, and the E-Learning platform (Moodle). The findings indicate that technology makes learning engaging, efficient, and interactive. It is intended that this research will help to better understand school culture and management, as well as learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Learning activities are a form of a series of behaviors between teachers and students in the classroom in achieving learning goals. Among the forms of student management in the classroom is to discipline students. Behavior influencing teachers towards students is a form of teacher leadership over students. Based on the results of the study, it is known that: (1) teachers of junior high school science subjects in Sidoarjo use situational leadership styles, and (2) the formulation of teacher leadership efforts in improving student discipline, namely, (a) the intention to change the undisciplined attitude of students, (b) be firm with students, (c) discipline students with a non-violent heart, (d) students who are not disciplined are punished in a gentle and educational way, (e) providing treatment to students according to the attitude and behavior of each student, (f) students are accustomed to smiling and shaking hands with their teachers when entering the classroom, (g) when students are late students are not allowed to enter the classroom but are still punished in an educational way, and (h) students who are late to class and do not do their assignments are reduced every day.

Abstract

One of the challenges faced by teachers in inclusion schools is directing students according to students' interests and talents. This challenge has an impact on teachers' reluctance to put in more effort to help students with disabilities find appropriate talents and interests. This research is a descriptive quantitative research, which aims to change the attitude of inclusive school teachers using a typology approach to student work interests. The approach used is a typology of work interests developed from Holland's vocational-personality theory. This research was carried out on teachers in one of the private high school inclusive schools in Surabaya. The results showed a change in teachers' attitudes towards students with disabilities as shown by the desire to learn and apply new things that can help students with disabilities.

Abstract

In this digital era, children can access many diverse values and cultures through various media, which may have a negative impact. the information that is accessed by children will affect their perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes, which could be positive or negative [1]. As a result, having media literacy today is essential since it can immunize children through cognitive defences to guard against the damaging effects of media messages [2. For young children, media literacy education can help them to build positive character values in the digital age. Young children can have a greater awareness of many viewpoints and cultures, which promotes empathy and respect, by being taught how to critically analyse and evaluate media content [3]. Therefore, this study elaborates on how media literacy education is used as a strategy to promote positive character values of young children by kindergarten teachers. A qualitative approach was employed in this study by involving 37 kindergarten teachers around West Java Province, Indonesia. Data collection was done through questionnaires and interview methods to portray teachers’ perspective and teaching strategies in Media Literacy Education. Moreover, the validity of the data was carried out by means of triangulation. The data analysis technique was done through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions or verification. The results showed that all of the teachers agreed that media literacy education is important for the character building of young children and to be integrated into curriculum. Furthermore, some teachers have implemented media literacy education in teaching activities in their own ways. However, there are still needs some improvement regarding teachers’ skills, learning media and digital facilities, support from policy makers and parents. Nevertheless, this study can be an initial overview for later research to investigate the further aspects of building young children's positive values in the digital world.

Abstract

This research aims to describe various forms of social media content that can be utilized as assignments in the teaching of Indonesian language and literature. The method used is qualitative descriptive with data analysis techniques employing literature review. The main focus of this study is to provide a concrete overview of assignments that can generate a product from students. The results categorize assignment types based on stages in UKBI (Indonesian Language Ability Test) and identify 10 types of content that can be adapted into Indonesian language and literature materials. The conclusion drawn from this research is that social media can serve as an excellent assignment medium with various contexts that can be creatively, innovatively, interactively, and productively developed.
