This research method is a mix method with a tendency to analyze qualitative data supplemented by quantitative data. Abstract

Gender is not the forefront issue of the COVID-19 pandemic yet lessons from previous outbreaks have suggested that women are disproportionately affected during such crises. This paper aims to understand the gendered impacts of the pandemic in Indonesia and offer insights into the experiences of women during the pandemic. We collected 10 administrative and survey data from government agencies, international organizations, as well as private organizations to conduct a secondary data analysis on the gendered impact of COVID-19 in Indonesia. Women are found to be bearing the brunt during the COVID-19 pandemic namely employment disruption, the burden of unpaid domestic and care work, heightened risk of gender-based violence, as well as indirect health and wellbeing impacts which includes accessibility to sexual and reproductive health services and stress levels.

Abstract

In the social process, individual humans are seen as relatively free creators of social reality in their social world, therefore the construction built by each individual is different, until the emergence of a phenomenon, namely the construction of female circumcision. Reality is the result of creative human creation through the power of social construction of the social world around them. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a hereditary custom that has become a tradition. This research was conducted to find out the construction of the tradition of circumcision in girls. The informants in this study were nine, namely the people of Tembeling Tanjung who did and did not circumcise girls and community leaders. This type of research is qualitative and the selection of informants uses purposive sampling technique with several predetermined criteria. From the results of the research, there were various kinds of social constructions in the tradition of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Tembeling Tanjung. This dialectical process occurs through externalization, objectivation, and internalization. In externalization, it is known that informants adapt values and norms in the form of adjustments in the implementation of circumcision. Informants' internalization of values and norms in socialization with family, religious leaders, community leaders and the social environment gave birth to an understanding of the objectivation of female circumcision. This is what causes informants to continue to actualize the tradition of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Abstract

As a modern culture characterized by Western Culture, Childfree is a decision taken based on free agreement between husband and wife. However, there are still many who think that the Childfree decision is the result of problems experienced by the woman. This paper will discuss the phenomenon of childfree in Indonesia based on the views of Islam and Catholicism as the majority religions that influence the thoughts and perspectives of Indonesian society regarding childfree. This research method uses a literature study by using references from various open sources and scientific articles. Indonesia, which has an Eastern culture, generally rejects Childfree. A more collective Eastern view makes the relationship between husband, wife and child inseparable. Islam and Catholicism also reject Childfree. Islam, referring to the Qur'an, views that marriage is to continue good offspring so that one day they can become leaders of their group. Catholic Christianity based on the Holy Scriptures (Bible / Bible) states that the existence of children through intercourse is God's very good will as a form of love. In the official interpretation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the purpose of marriage is the welfare of husband and wife, the birth of children, and the education of children.

Abstract

Femtech opens space to fulfill women's right to information on sexual and reproductive health and raises the potential for control over women's bodies. This study aims to explore the potential risks of FemTech related to women's bodies in cyberspace and uncover the exploitation and misuse of women's data. Women as users in an organized manner are seen as commodity objects, which indirectly makes women digital laborers. This study uses analysis of the Feminist Political Economy (FPE) lens from Bezanson & Luxton in three conceptual areas, namely the expansion of production models, the sex/gender system, and the analysis of domestic labor as a contribution to labor reproduction. This article develops an FPE analytical framework for studies of technology-related reproductive health. The researcher summarizes user data collected in Indonesia's top ten FemTech applications by entering the keyword' menstrual calendar' in the iOS App Store and Android Play Store. This research finds that women as Femtech users are shackled in the reality of hegemonic masculinity and lack of reproductive freedom, are in a commodity circle, and are exposed to risks as digital workers.
