Abstract

Tidore Islands City is one of the cinnamon producers in North Maluku Province. Several Kelurahans in this area have cinnamon potential, one of which is Kelurahan Jaya. This area is a producer of cinnamon which is quite famous and is often traded. However, farmers are less interested in cultivating cinnamon, one of the reasons is that the price is far below the other two commodities, namely cloves and nutmeg. It's just that production at the farm level decreased because the sale of this commodity did not match the exchange rate received. In addition, the lack of public knowledge about cultivation will have an impact on its sustainability in the future as well as the lack of exploitation and product diversification. This Community Service activity aims to provide knowledge to farmer groups about cinnamon nurseries. This activity was carried out by the method of discussion and giving lectures which were carried out between the lecturer team and representatives of the CAWADA farmer group in Jaya Village. Community service activities were carried out in Jaya Village, Tidore Islands City on 16-17 July 2022. The writing method used a descriptive approach. The results of the farming business analysis show that the price of cinnamon bark is quite low when compared to clove and nutmeg commodities. The profit obtained by clove commodities can reach Rp. 9,500,000 – 38,500,000, -. / tree. Meanwhile, the price of dried nutmeg flower / mace is 9 times or Rp. 250.000,-/kg. Cinnamon plant nurseries can be done in Tidore Islands City because the condition of this area has an ideal topography and altitude for cinnamon plants. Several types of vegetable crops such as chayote, eggplant and chili as well as local fruits can be planted together through the Agroforestry system with fence and alley cropping patterns. The nursery stage is carried out through land selection, preparation of seeds to planting.

Abstract

This activity aims to deepen educational problems in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province (NTT) border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. The implementation of this activity is to conduct discussions to increase understanding of strategic issues regarding educational problems with lecturers and postgraduate students at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang NTT. The method of writing this paper is to use a qualitative approach by reviewing various kinds of literature and discussions carried out. The growth of education services in NTT is increasing in line with educational investments made by the government, such as increasing the number of classrooms in high schools, vocational schools, and universities/polytechnics. However, the average education rating in NTT is still the fourth lowest in Indonesia. The district with the worst conditions on the border is Malacca. The areas that need attention as the next priority are the districts of Kupang and Belu, which the State of Timor Leste borders.

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic which has been going on for approximately the last two years and has had a major impact on the Indonesian people and economy. Indonesia's economic activity is getting weaker and lowering people's purchasing power. One of the prevention strategies implemented by the government is by limiting community mobility through work from home and also study from home for the community. Since the enactment of this policy, people have more free time at home. Therefore, this PKM activity aims to introduce business opportunities that can be utilized by the community. This free handicraft training hopes that the participants will maximize the training to make handicrafts from hemp/jute rope and earn additional income during the pandemic. The target of this activity is the community in Lamteuba Droe Village, Seulimum, Aceh Besar District. Based on the results of the work made by the participants, this PKM activity can be said to be successful in the first experiment because they can create and produce their work well in each group. The handicrafts made have also met the expectations of the PKM team and can be said to be worthy of sale.

Abstract

Community service activities are activities carried out in the stunting locus area in Sidrap Regency, which are the service activities and responsibilities of lecturers and students of ITKES Muhammadiyah Sidrap. , 18.8% (2015), 17.8% (2016), and 17.9% (2017). Stunting incidence was 28.9% (2014), 29% (2015), 27.5% (2016), and increased in 2017 by 29.6%. Wasting incidence was 11.8% (2014), 11.9% (2015), 11.1% (2016), and decreased in 2017 by 9.5% (Ministry of Health RI, 2018). The purpose of the service is to increase public knowledge about stunting, so it is necessary to hold a socialization of the Joint Movement to Recognize, Prevent and Overcome Stunting through Community Education in Cendrana Village which is carried out at the Cendrana Village Office, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The method of implementing this activity is a site survey, activity plan, activity implementation and activity evaluation. The results of the service showed an increase in participants' knowledge after counseling, one of which was in the good category, which increased from 32, 43% to 72,97%. This PKM activity was carried out at the Cendrana Village Office which was attended by government officials, mothers with toddlers, cadres, community leaders in Cendana village. This activity was carried out in conjunction with free medical examinations carried out by students, then the lecturers carried out socialization of the Joint Movement to Recognize, Prevent and Overcome Stunting Through Community Education. The consistency of the academic community in carrying out community service activities in the health sector needs to be maintained and even improved in order to support the tri dharma of higher education.

Abstract

The odd semester of the academic year 2022 is an important moment for education in Indonesia. After almost three years, students and teachers carried out online learning and teaching processes, finally in the odd semester of academic year 2022, schools especially in province of DKI Jakarta will implement onsite teaching and learning processes. Students will wake up early, prepare and bring their books and bags to their school. One thing that is identical with education in Indonesia is the large number of textbooks that students will carry in their bags, even though the load from the bag will have a long-term negative effect on bone growth and have an bad impact on student’s body posture. This is a point of concern for parents and teachers at SMAN 72 North Jakarta, at the invitation of the school, the author then provided a workshop about the importance of using ergonomic bags for students in order to maintain students' physical and psychological health. The result of this community service activity is a measurement of the satisfaction of the participants, 97.44% of 156 participants were very satisfied and assessed that the workshop gave them benefits in providing new knowledge about ergonomic bags.

Abstract

The Sahabat Community is a supporter of the Dharma Bhakti Muslim Indonesia Foundation in Semarang, which consists of youngster man and women of productive age. They have great potential to become an economically independent generation as well as to become agents of change in their respective regions. Although not yet optimal, the Sahabat Community has initiated initiatives to empower the younger generation through short informal trainings as an effort to increase digital literacy. The FE UNISSULA community service team plans an optimization program for the digital literacy movement by sharpening the purpose of the activity in the form of digital life skills assistance. The program includes activities (i) assistance in the implementation of training to be more systematic with clear achievement targets and appropriate methods; (ii) providing training in the form of basic office applications and digital marketing (by BNSP certified instructors) as fundamental skills that are indispensable for both those who want to be entrepreneurs as well as employees; (iii) providing insight into the challenges and opportunities in the era of the digital revolution; (iv) providing motivation so that participants spread their enthusiasm and skills to other youth groups so that they can become agent of change in society.

Abstract

The incidence of anemia in pregnant women carries a great risk because the fetus's need for iron and oxygen supply during development requires iron. This community service activity aims to examine and administer anemia drugs or blood boosters to pregnant women and provide education related to anemia and important nutritional intake for pregnant women to prevent risk factors for anemia. A total of 36 pregnant women patients checked themselves, with 12 in the first trimester, 15 in the second trimester, and 9 in the third trimester. A total of 7 people in the first trimester experienced anemia (19.44%), 10 people in the second trimester (27.77%), and 5 people in the third trimester (13.88%). The rest do not have anemia. This can be due to the fact that the intake of balanced nutrition and foods rich in iron is sufficient during pregnancy. Iron intake during pregnancy in the first trimester is recommended at as much as 0.8 mg/day, while in the second and third trimesters, as much as 6.3 mg/day. Thus, it is hoped that the imparted knowledge and information will be adhered to in order to limit the risk of anemia in pregnant women so that the process of pregnancy until birth will proceed without incident.

Abstract

Palm sugar agro-industry in Rokan Hulu Regency has obstacles in its development, namely technological capabilities, and limited supporting infrastructure for agro-industry, marketing and distribution that are less developed. The purpose of this service is to design a tool to make crystal sugar so that it can convert solid palm sugar which is usually produced by the community so that the price of palm sugar is higher than ordinary solid palm sugar and assist in digital marketing. This community service method is carried out in several stages, namely: observation, problem identification, problem formulation and finding the best solution. Through this service program, this service, the University of Riau implementation team has succeeded in designing and manufacturing palm sugar crystallization tools, socializing the use of the tool, counseling about digital marketing, and counseling efforts to change people's mindsets in the behavior of using sap water as an ingredient for making palm sugar.

Abstract

Lake Toba is a tecto-volcanic lake located in the province of North Sumatra, Indonesia. This lake is the largest lake in Indonesia and Southeast Asia (disbudpar, 2019). Lake Toba has ecotourism, namely Leuser National Park and Forest Area with Special Purpose Aek Nauli, Kawasan Strategi Pariwisata Nasional (KSPN)/Kawasan Pengembangan Pariwisata Nasional (KKPN), namely Lake Toba and its surroundings, and Geopark consisting of Toba Caldera Geopark. This is what makes Lake Toba a tourism potential and a direction of development that needs attention. Currently, the Lake Toba Water Quality Standard is set to Class One as contained in the Governor of North Sumatra Regulation Number 1 of 2009 and the trophic status of Lake Toba is Oligotrophic as contained in the Decree of the Governor of North Sumatra Number 188.44/209/KPTS/2017. The determination of the water quality standard of Lake Toba to be Class One as contained in the Governor of North Sumatra Regulation Number 1 of 2009 and the trophic status of Lake Toba is Oligotrophic as contained in the Decree of the Governor of North Sumatra Number 188.44/209/KPTS/2017 currently does not meet. The purpose of this Focus Group Discussion (FGD) is to get input from FGD participants regarding the water quality and trophic status of Lake Toba. The method implemented is in the form of discussion that discusses the quality of water in Lake Toba. Based on the results of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the water quality of Lake Toba leads to the Class Two quality standard and the Trophic Status of Lake Toba leads to Mesotrophs. This is influenced by human activities around the Lake Toba area and natural factors. The impact of decreasing water quality of Lake Toba will be increasingly influenced by the determination of Lake Toba as a Kawasan Strategi Pariwisata Nasional super prioritas. The decline in the water quality of Lake Toba can be managed with the cooperation of all parties, namely the community, businessmen and the government, such as the use of technology, environmental conservation, compliance with permits and others.

Abstract

This act of community dedication is aimed to provide video lessons of First Fundamental Mathematics/ First Calculus for the undergraduate students. The videos are free lesson source, accessible anytime and anywhere from Youtube. During the activity, there are a lot of positive responses from the students who are taking the same lessons as provided by the video materials. It can be concluded that the activity went very well and the result is as good as expected. This can be seen from the viewers’ enthusiasm who contribute in discussion on the comment section if they got stuck, appreciating the content, and also the high traffic. The fact that the most viewers are undergraduate students can be seen on Youtube analytic. As for the suggestion, if there is another team who wants to get the better result, it is strongly advised to promote and to share related information regarding the videos massively.
