Abstract

This article is motivated by the still low level of time management skills among elementary school students, as reflected in habits such as procrastinating on assignments and lacking consistency in learning. Previous studies have examined the role of tahfidz activities in character building; however, most of them have focused primarily on discipline and spirituality, without specifically exploring their relationship with time management skills as part of self-regulation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the role of Qur’an memorization extracurricular activities in developing students’ time management abilities. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing relevant scientific journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. The findings indicate that tahfidz activities make a significant contribution to the development of time management through the cultivation of discipline, the strengthening of self-regulated learning, and structured activities such as memorization submission and muraja’ah (revision). These findings suggest that tahfidz serves not only as a religious activity but also as a medium for developing life skills, particularly in time management.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of wasiat wajibah for non-Muslim heirs under Article 209 of the Compilation of Islamic Law (Kompilasi Hukum Islam) in Indonesia. The issue of inheritance involving religious differences remains a complex legal problem within Indonesian Islamic inheritance law because classical Islamic jurisprudence generally prohibits inheritance between Muslims and non-Muslims. Nevertheless, judicial practice in Indonesia has demonstrated the expansion of wasiat wajibah through several Supreme Court decisions granting mandatory bequests to non-Muslim family members. This research employs normative juridical legal research using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The legal materials consist of statutory regulations, judicial decisions, books, and scholarly journal articles related to Islamic inheritance law and wasiat wajibah. The results of this study show that Indonesian Religious Courts and the Supreme Court have adopted progressive legal interpretations of Article 209 KHI through legal discovery (rechtsvinding) and substantive justice approaches. The implementation of wasiat wajibah for non-Muslim heirs reflects efforts to harmonize Islamic legal principles with humanitarian values, social justice, and the pluralistic character of Indonesian society. However, the absence of explicit regulation regarding non-Muslim heirs within Article 209 KHI potentially creates legal uncertainty and inconsistent judicial interpretations. Therefore, clearer legal reform is necessary to strengthen legal certainty concerning inheritance disputes involving religious differences in Indonesia

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the religious school environment on students’ religious attitudes at SMAN 4 Karawang from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education. The study addresses a research gap concerning the limited empirical evidence on how school religious culture contributes to students’ moral and spiritual development in Indonesian senior high schools. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 79 valid responses from twelfth-grade students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires, supported by observation and documentation. Descriptive and inferential analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics, including validity and reliability tests, normality and linearity tests, ANOVA, and simple linear regression. The findings indicate that the religious school environment is categorized as moderate, and students’ religious attitudes are also at a moderate level. Regression analysis reveals a positive and significant effect, with R² = 0.441, showing that 44.1% of the variation in students’ religious attitudes is explained by the religious school environment, while the remaining 55.9% is influenced by external factors such as family, peers, digital media exposure, and students’ psychological conditions. The novelty of this study lies in its holistic approach, integrating structural, social, and cultural aspects of the school environment to assess their cumulative effect on students’ religious attitudes. These results highlight the role of structured religious activities, teacher modeling, and school culture in fostering students’ moral and spiritual development, providing empirical evidence to guide effective character education programs in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Ramadan food markets create a concentrated setting in which migrant university students encounter multiple commercial cues while managing their own spending. This study describes purchasing-related responses among migrant students who bought takjil in Gegerkalong, Bandung, during Ramadan 2026. A cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted using purposive sampling. The final dataset comprised 99 completed questionnaires organized around six consumer-behavior indicators adapted from Sumartono. Responses were summarized using frequencies and percentages; the design did not test causal relationships. Combined affirmative responses were highest for attractive packaging or presentation (56%) and price reductions or discounts (50%). Influencer or advertising content and purchasing two similar items each received 39%, followed by gifts or bonuses (25%) and maintaining prestige (12%). For selected items, 39% agreed and 17% strongly agreed that packaging or presentation affected their purchasing, whereas 38% strongly disagreed and 33% disagreed that prestige motivated them. The findings indicate that sensory and price-related cues were more frequently endorsed than status-oriented motives in this sample. They do not, however, establish that these cues caused excessive purchasing, food waste, fear of missing out, or weak financial literacy. The study contributes a localized description of Ramadan purchasing patterns and relates them cautiously to Islamic consumption ethics. Practical implications include purchase planning, budget awareness, and critical engagement with digital food promotion.

Abstract

This study examines how individualized consideration operates in the leadership of the Amtsilati Special Agency (BANSUS) at Al-Mushlih Islamic Boarding School, Karawang, and how participants perceive its contribution to kitab kuning reading. A qualitative single-case study was conducted with six purposively selected informants: the BANSUS chair, an organizational coach, two Amtsilati instructors, and two students. Data were generated through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and program documents and analyzed using the interactive procedures of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings identify five leadership strategies: intensive communication, personal support and active mentoring, needs-responsive coaching, routine instructional monitoring, and collaborative problem solving. These practices formed a cascading pathway in which support from the BANSUS chair strengthened instructors’ responsiveness, which was then reflected in more individualized teaching practices. Participants reported greater accuracy in applying nahwu and sharaf, translating Arabic texts, and understanding kitab kuning, together with stronger motivation and confidence. These outcomes represent observed and perceived changes rather than standardized measures of learning gain. The study’s novelty lies in explaining individualized consideration as a program-level, mediated leadership process rather than only a direct leader-follower interaction. The findings suggest that individualized consideration can support pesantren learning when it is institutionalized through regular monitoring, differentiated coaching, and collaborative support.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the negotiation process between pesantren learning tradi-tions and pedagogical innovation through the implementation of the peer teaching method in the study of the Kitab Kuning at the Nurul Hidayah Al-Mida Islamic Boarding School in Karawang. This study was motivated by the dominance of traditional learning methods such as sorogan and bandongan, which are teacher-centered, resulting in relatively limited student participation in the learning process. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the pesantren leader-ship, ustadz, student tutors, and student learners. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that the implementation of peer teaching does not replace the boarding school’s traditional learning practices but rather creates a “third space” that bridges traditional pedagogical values with contemporary learning needs. Through group discussions, peer tutors, and collaborative interactions, peer teaching fosters increased student participation, strengthens knowledge retention, and promotes self-directed learning without dimin-ishing the teachers’ scholarly authority. The research findings also produced the Pe-santren Pedagogical Hybridization Model (PPHM), which explains that peer teaching functions as a mechanism of pedagogical hybridization that bridges pesantren traditions and modern learning innovations. This study affirms that pedagogical transformation in pesantren can occur through a process of adaptation and integration with tradition, resulting in learning that is more participatory, contextual, and relevant to the needs of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the strategies employed by civil servants (ASN) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) of Soppeng Regency to maintain family integrity amidst the challenges of long-distance marriage, a situation arising from geographic separation due to work assignments. Employing a qualitative case study approach within a sociology of law framework, data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight state madrasah teachers experiencing long-distance marriage and analyzed using Henry Mintzberg's 5Ps strategy theory, Froma Walsh's family resilience framework, and Imam Al-Ghazali's Maqāṣid Syarī’ah. The findings reveal three key points: (1) couples implement six core strategies, including deliberative decision-making, communication optimization, and collaborative financial management; (2) supporting factors (relational, spiritual) and inhibiting factors (psychological, infrastructural) are identified; and (3) all strategies align with the Qur'an and the Kompilasi Hukum Islam and effectively support the five Maqāṣid Syarī’ah objectives: preserving religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. This research offers theoretical contributions to Islamic family law and provides practical guidance for long-distance marriage couples and policymakers.

Abstract

The rapid development of affiliate marketing in e-commerce has established it as an effective digital marketing model that enhances sales through a performance-based commission system. However, this practice also raises ethical concerns, particularly regarding information asymmetry, hidden commissions, and conflicts of interest, all of which may influence the quality of consumers' purchasing decisions. From the perspective of Islamic economics, these issues are closely related to the principle of tarāḍin, which serves as a fundamental basis for the legitimacy of transactions. This study aims to examine the relevance of the principle of tarāḍin in the thought of Yusuf al-Qaradawi to the practice of affiliate marketing in e-commerce. The research employs a library research method with a qualitative-conceptual approach. The data were collected from the Qur'an, Hadith, Yusuf al-Qaradawi's scholarly works, and other relevant academic literature. Data were analyzed using content analysis through four stages: open coding, theme extraction, analytical mapping, and interpretive synthesis. The findings indicate that, from a structural perspective, affiliate marketing corresponds to the contract of ju‘ālah and is therefore generally acceptable within Islamic commercial jurisprudence. Nevertheless, its ethical validity is conditional and largely depends on the integrity of the information that shapes consumers' consent. The principle of tarāḍin is found to be highly relevant in evaluating affiliate marketing practices through four key indicators: information transparency, commission disclosure, honesty in promotion, and consumers' freedom to make informed decisions. The novelty of this study lies in applying Yusuf al-Qaradawi's concept of tarāḍin as an ethical framework for assessing information integrity in contemporary affiliate marketing practices.

Abstract

Social media has become a routine environment in which Indonesian adolescents communicate, imitate social norms, encounter religious and non-religious content, and negotiate their everyday identities. Although previous studies have discussed social media as either a learning resource or a risk environment, less attention has been given to how students’ online experiences can be interpreted through Islamic values and youth character formation. This study examines Indonesian students’ social media practices and the moral concerns observed by parents and teachers. Using a convergent mixed-methods design, the study integrates survey data from 163 Indonesian students with written responses from 38 parents and teachers. Quantitative findings show very frequent social media use, with WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok as the dominant platforms. Students reported positive perceived effects for social interaction and social awareness, but also acknowledged behavioral influence, changes in self-perception, and social-life disruption. Qualitative findings reveal adult concerns about excessive use, reduced responsiveness, imitation of online behavior, weakened discipline, exposure to negative content, and the need for value-based guidance. Integrated interpretation suggests that social media is not merely a communication tool; it is a moral-learning ecology in which character may be strengthened or weakened depending on guidance, self-control, and ethical mediation. Building on akhlaq, amanah, tabayyun, haya’, ukhuwwah, and mujahadah al-nafs, this study proposes Islamic Values-Based Guided Social Media Learning (IV-GSML) as a framework for supporting responsible digital character education in Indonesian Islamic educational contexts.

Abstract

This study analyzes the transformation of hadits transmission methodology during the tadwin (systematic codification) era and its implications for hadits studies. The focus includes changes in verification mechanisms from the pre-tadwin period to the tadwin era, as well as their impact on the epistemological framework. Using a qualitative library research approach, the study examines classical sources and relevant academic literature. The findings reveal that the tadwin era marked not only the codification of hadits but also a fundamental transformation in transmission verification. In the pre-tadwin period, transmission largely depended on memorization and personal authority of narrators. In contrast, the tadwin era introduced a more structured approach through the central role of isnad, standardization of transmission practices, and application of hadits criticism. This development led to the emergence of key methodological tools such as ‘ilm rijal al-hadits and al-jarh wa al-ta‘dil, which enable objective assessment of narrators and transmitted reports. Furthermore, these methodological changes contributed to the formation of an epistemological structure grounded in verification, objectivity, and accountability. The principles of tahqiq and tabayyun demonstrate the relevance of hadits methodology in addressing contemporary challenges, particularly the spread of disinformation in the digital era. Academically, this study contributes to the discourse on hadith studies by providing a comprehensive analysis of the methodological transformation during the tadwin era and highlighting its significance for the development of contemporary epistemological approaches to hadith scholarship.
