Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Brain-Compatible Classroom design in the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) based on Vygotsky's Social Constructivism theory in early childhood education institutions. The Merdeka Curriculum demands child-centered learning, but in practice, the implementation of P5 is often trapped in rigid end results (teacher-centered). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach in inclusive kindergarten group B (ages 5-6 years). Data collection was carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of modules and project portfolios. The results show that a brain-friendly classroom is built through the creation of a low-stress environment (absence of threat) using stimulation of various textures of natural materials (loose parts). Vygotsky's principles are manifested through the utilization of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) when children collaborate heterogeneously to complete environmental model projects, supported by the provision of verbal-visual scaffolding by the teacher. This integration of neuroscience and social psychology has proven effective in boosting children's collaborative, creative, and critical thinking skills naturally without cognitive coercion. This research recommends the importance of restructuring early childhood education classrooms from static to adaptive learning environments for children's brain function.

Abstract

Emotional development is a fundamental aspect of early childhood that significantly influences children's success in their daily lives and future learning. During early childhood, appropriate stimulation is essential to foster self-confidence, empathy, cooperation, and self-control. One effective approach to promoting these emotional competencies is through enjoyable, meaningful, and child-centered activities, such as creative gymnastics. This study aims to examine the effect of the "Guruku Tersayang" creative gymnastics program on the emotional development of early childhood at TK Negeri Pembina Cibeureum. The study was conducted because several children at the kindergarten had not yet achieved the expected level of emotional development. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method to systematically organize and interpret the data collected in the form of descriptive narratives. The participants consisted of all 34 children in Group A. Data were collected through observations and interviews focusing on children's emotional responses during the implementation of the "Guruku Tersayang" creative gymnastics activity. The findings indicate that the children's emotional development showed positive improvement and generally met the expected developmental indicators during their participation in the creative gymnastic activities. The program helped enhance children's self-confidence, cooperation, emotional expression, and positive interactions with their peers and teachers, suggesting that creative gymnastics can serve as an effective strategy for supporting emotional development in early childhood.

Abstract

Early childhood curiosity is a natural trait characterized by a strong interest in the surrounding environment, which encourages them to ask questions, explore, and learn new things. Curiosity is crucial for children's cognitive, language, and problem-solving development. Understanding cause and effect in early childhood is the child's ability to understand that every action (cause) will produce a reaction or consequence (result), which begins in the immediate environment, then develops over time through exploration and play. Classroom Action Research was conducted to increase curiosity and understanding of cause and effect in early childhood Group B (5-6 years) at the Melati Early Childhood Education Post through the application of the color mixing experiment method. The background of this study was the low initiative of children in asking questions and the lack of logical ability in connecting an event with its outcome (cause and effect). The research subjects were 10 children in group B. The data collection instruments were observation sheets of children's activities and observation sheets of teachers' abilities. The pre-cycle results showed that the level of achievement of children's curiosity and understanding of cause and effect was in the poor category. After the implementation of the actions in Cycle I and Cycle II, there was a significant increase. At the end of Cycle II, the percentage of children's curiosity and understanding of cause and effect indicators reached 80%, exceeding the success indicator set at 75%. This indicates that the color mixing experiment method is effective in increasing curiosity and understanding of cause and effect in early childhood.

Abstract

Regional languages, including Sundanese, are important to maintain because they can maintain the nation's cultural roots and national identity. However, in the current situation, the use of regional languages in the early childhood learning process is increasingly marginalized. Many children prefer to use national languages or foreign languages in communicating, so the use of regional languages is increasingly rare. The following research was conducted with the aim of optimizing regional language skills for children aged 4-5 years at Pembina Baros State Kindergarten, Sukabumi City. This research utilizes the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method by developing the Si-UUL (Listen-Say-Repeat) method through word cards, the participants in this study were 31 students of class A1 at Pembina Baros State Kindergarten in Baros District, Sukabumi City aged 4-5 years, consisting of 15 girls and 16 boys. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, data analysis techniques were carried out using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of the study indicate that the Si-UUL method is effective in improving regional language skills for children aged 4-5 years. Improved regional language skills are evident in children's progress in vocabulary, articulation, and expression
