Abstract

Skipping numbers are a fundamental concept in mathematics that is important to introduce from an early age because they are directly related to logical thinking, arithmetic, and number patterns. A problem faced in mathematics learning in early childhood education (PAUD), particularly in the topic of jumping numbers, is the low learning outcomes of students. This study aims to determine the improvement in student learning outcomes through the use of the snakes and ladders game on the topic of jumping numbers. The background of this study is the low interest and learning outcomes of students in mathematics learning, particularly in understanding the concept of jumping numbers. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in two cycles. The subjects were group B students at an early childhood education institution, with a total of 30 participants. Data were collected through observation, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes after the implementation of the snakes and ladders game. In the first cycle, student learning completion only reached 62%, while in the second cycle, this increased to 93%. This improvement demonstrates that the Snakes and Ladders game can create a fun learning environment, increase student active engagement, and facilitate understanding of the concept of jumping numbers. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Snakes and Ladders game is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the topic of jumping numbers in Early Childhood Education (PAUD).

Abstract

Social emotional development is a very important development for a child considering that this development will determine the child's ability to adapt to their environment later. The problem that often occurs today is that many children have problems with social emotional development, for that reason a method is needed that can stimulate it. One method that can stimulate this development is the project learning method. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the project method on the social emotional development of early childhood in Riyadlussolihin Kindergarten, Takokak District. The method used in this study was Pre-Experiment One-Group Pretest - Posttest Design, the research subjects were 20 children aged 5-6 years in class B. The place that became the location of the study was Riyadlussolihin Kindergarten, Takokak District. The data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The results of the study indicate a significant effect of project-based learning on the social-emotional development of children aged 5-6 years, as seen from the simple linear regression test value, with a significance value of 0.000, less than 0.05, and the influence of project-based learning variables on children's social-emotional development. This means that project-based learning has an effect on the social-emotional development of children aged 5-6 years at Riyadlussolihin Takokak Kindergarten.

Abstract

The implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level within the Independent Curriculum was originally designed to foster children's character through a liberating approach. However, in practice, this paradigm shift has created epistemological and methodological conflicts for teachers in the field. This study aims to conduct a critical analysis of the implementation of P5 at the PAUD level, with a specific focus on pedagogical readiness, structural workload, and teachers' stuttering in translating the abstract values of Pancasila into child-friendly stimulation. Using a qualitative approach with critical case studies, data were collected from several PAUD units through in-depth interviews with teachers, participatory observation of the project process, and critical analysis of teaching module documents compiled independently by teachers. The results reveal the phenomenon of "curriculum formalism," where teachers are trapped in administrative performativity and product orientation (output) for the sake of documentation fulfillment, rather than prioritizing child agency and process-oriented reflection. The imbalance in Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) tends to lead teachers to adopt a rigid (teacher-centered) instructional role, reducing the meaning of P5 to merely a seasonal craft activity. This research shows that early childhood education (PAUD) teachers experience dual pressures between structural administrative burdens and the idealistic demands of the new curriculum without adequate conceptual guidance. The implications of this research urge the need for a deconstructive reconstruction of teacher training patterns and a reorientation of P5 policies to return to the fundamental principles of early childhood play.

Abstract

Technological developments in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, and some countries are even moving towards the Industrial Revolution 5.0, are a crucial aspect of human life. Gadgets are a product of the increasingly advanced and rapid development of technology and communication. The influence of gadgets is like two sides of a coin, capable of both positive and negative impacts, particularly on the social development of early childhood. The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of gadget use on early childhood social development. This study employed a qualitative approach, using a case study method, with three children aged 3-5 years and their parents. Data collection techniques included interviews and observations. Interviews were conducted with the mothers of the respondents through a discussion and Q&A process. The researchers conducted observations by directly observing the respondents in the field. Data analysis was conducted using a Grounded Theory approach. The results of this study explain that the impact of gadget use on early childhood is like two sides of a coin, where on the one hand it has a positive impact but on the other hand it has a negative impact. This depends on how parents control/supervise their children's use of gadgets.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of honesty demonstrated by children in Group B at RA Al-Falah Ciroyom, Bojonggambir, Tasikmalaya. Preliminary observations revealed that out of 15 children, only five were willing to admit their mistakes, four remained silent when questioned, and six provided answers that did not reflect the truth. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a storytelling method using hand puppets in instilling the value of honesty in early childhood. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed, conducted over two cycles, with each cycle comprising five actions. Research instruments included observation sheets, teacher performance assessment sheets (APKG), journals, and documentation, while data analysis was performed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The results indicated that the application of the hand-puppet storytelling method significantly improved the children's honesty across both cycles. The average developmental achievement score rose from 3.50 in Cycle I to 4.01 in Cycle II, reaching the "Developing Very Well" (BSB) category. This improvement was evidenced by an increasing number of children who were willing to admit their mistakes and provide truthful answers. Thus, the hand-puppet storytelling method proved effective as a learning medium for developing religious and moral values specifically honesty in young children.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve early childhood children's memory of plant and animal topics through the implementation of the singing method at PAUD Mutia Bunda. The study was motivated by children's low ability to remember the names, characteristics, and benefits of plants and animals when learning through conventional instructional methods. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on Arikunto's model, which was conducted in two cycles consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 15 Group B children aged 5–6 years during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through oral tests, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques by calculating the mean scores and the percentage of classical learning mastery in each cycle. The findings revealed that the implementation of the singing method significantly improved children's memory of plant and animal topics. The average memory score increased from 65.4 in the pre-action stage to 72.3 in Cycle I and further improved to 81.6 in Cycle II. Similarly, the percentage of classical learning mastery increased from 40% in the pre-action stage to 60% in Cycle I and reached 86.7% in Cycle II, thereby achieving the predetermined success criteria. This improvement was supported by the use of thematic songs integrated with body movements and visual media, making the learning process more engaging, concrete, and developmentally appropriate for young children. Therefore, the singing method can be considered an effective alternative thematic instructional strategy for enhancing young children's memory of learning materials related to their surrounding environment.

Abstract

School readiness is often understood merely as children's academic readiness, leading learning innovations in early childhood education to focus more on individual achievement rather than on fostering learning experiences that support a successful transition to primary school. This condition reflects the limited research examining how learning innovations are constructed as pedagogical processes to build comprehensive school readiness. This study aims to analyze the construction of learning innovations in building school readiness at TK Cendani Bandung. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research involved one school principal, one classroom teacher, and 18 children from Group B aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation review, and subsequently analyzed using Grounded Theory stages, including open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings indicate that learning innovations are constructed through four dimensions: exploratory, contextual, collaborative, and habituative. These four dimensions are integrated to shape learning experiences that foster curiosity, critical thinking skills, social adaptation, self-regulation, independence, and responsibility as the foundation of school readiness. The study expands the understanding that school readiness is not solely determined by academic competence but is constructed through holistic learning experiences.

Abstract

Learning to introduce the 99 Asmaul Husna for early childhood actually provides its own difficulties for children, especially in recognizing and pronouncing them, this is because teachers lack variety in using learning methods. This study aims to introduce Al-Asma Al-Husna to early childhood using the Hanifida method. The Hanifida method is a fast and practical memorization method that is constructivist in nature, gradually building knowledge through visualization experiences, imagination, stories full of action and emotion created by the child themselves according to the real-life context. The classroom action research design was carried out collaboratively. This collaborative research was conducted by researchers and collaborated with teachers. The collaboration was a form of cooperation between researchers and class teachers of group B. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, the first cycle was carried out for 4 days and the second cycle was carried out for 5 days with the results after the actions in cycle I obtained results of 10% BB (not yet developed), 40% MB (starting to develop), and 50% BSH (developing as expected), then in cycle II the results obtained were 20% MB (starting to develop), and 80% (developing as expected). So the application of the Hanifida method of movement and song type in introducing Al-Asma Al-Husna and its meaning is very effective, this can be seen from the increase in children's development results in recognizing Al-Asma Al-Husna from each cycle both in quantity and quality.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low development of religious and moral values ??in children at the Gotong Royong Playgroup. This low development encourages the need for innovation in learning models. One of the efforts used is the implementation of the project-based learning (PjBL) model. This model is believed to be able to increase children's active involvement, encourage social interaction, and develop aspects of religious and moral values ??comprehensively. In addition, the use of PjBL provides a variety of learning models that are more interesting and meaningful. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the implementation of PjBL on the development of religious and moral values ????of early childhood and to test its level of significance. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture. The results show that the implementation of PjBL in the Gotong Royong Playgroup is quite good, with the average development of children's religious and moral values ????in the beginning to develop category. Regression analysis produces the equation Y = 4.124 - 1.028 X, and the significance test shows a Sig. 0.001 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant influence of the implementation of PjBL on the development of religious and moral values ??in early childhood. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.
