Abstract

This study examines the structure of knowledge in Islam and its implications for the development of Islamic education within contemporary educational contexts. The background of this research is rooted in the ongoing epistemological crisis in Islamic education, particularly the persistence of the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences, which has weakened the integrative and value-oriented nature of Islamic education. The aim of this paper is to analyze the Islamic conception of the structure of knowledge and to explain how this structure provides a foundational framework for reconstructing the goals, curriculum, and pedagogical orientation of Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research, utilizing classical and contemporary scholarly works on Islamic epistemology, philosophy of education, and Islamic educational thought. Data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical and comparative methods to identify core concepts, patterns, and relationships among key ideas. The findings reveal that the structure of knowledge in Islam is inherently integrative, grounded in the principle of tawhid, and unites revelation, reason, and empirical reality within a coherent epistemological system. This structure positions knowledge not only as a means of intellectual development but also as a moral and spiritual guide for human life. The study concludes that understanding and applying the Islamic structure of knowledge is essential for developing Islamic education that is holistic, value based, and responsive to modern challenges without losing its normative and spiritual foundations.

Abstract

Supervision of education in Islamic education is an important issue because improving the quality of institutions is not enough to be achieved through strengthening learning alone, but requires integration between academic coaching, internalization of spiritual values, and the effectiveness of institutional governance. This article aims to analyze the components of educational supervision in Islamic education and formulate the integration of academic, spiritual, and managerial aspects as a quality improvement strategy. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies with thematic analysis techniques and narrative synthesis on various relevant literature regarding Islamic education supervision, academic supervision, Qur’anic values in educator development, and educational quality management. The results of the study show that academic supervision plays a role in improving the quality of learning and teacher professionalism, spiritual supervision strengthens the mandate, example, and moral integrity of educators, while managerial supervision ensures program regularity, institutional coordination, and sustainability of quality evaluation. This study also confirms that improving the quality of Islamic education will be more effective if the three components are integrated in one planned, multidimensional, and sustainable coaching system. Thus, Islamic education supervision must be positioned as a strategic instrument to build a quality of education that is holistic, contextual, and relevant to contemporary institutional demands.

Abstract

Supervision of Islamic education is an important component in improving the quality of education because it not only functions as a technical supervision mechanism, but also as a process of professional, moral, and spiritual development of teachers within the framework of Islamic values. This study aims to analyze various approaches to Islamic education supervision and formulate the most relevant approaches based on the integration of Islamic values. The research uses a literature study approach with data collection techniques through documentation of various relevant scientific literature sources, then analyzed using content analysis to find patterns, main themes, and conceptual tendencies of various supervision approaches. The results of the study show that Islamic education supervision includes directive, non-directive, collaborative, clinical, and Islamic values-based approaches, each of which has different characteristics and uses according to the context of teachers and institutions. However, a collaborative approach based on Islamic values has proven to be the most relevant because it is able to integrate professionalism, active participation, and spirituality in an integrated manner. The values of trust, ihsan, deliberation, rahmah, and tawadhu strengthen the effectiveness of supervision and form a religious and productive academic culture. Thus, effective Islamic education supervision needs to be designed in a contextual, collaborative, and rooted in Islamic values in order to be able to improve the quality of education in a sustainable manner

Abstract

The learning process had not been conducted effectively and optimally. The learning media used, such as whiteboards and textbooks, along with assignments in the form of monotonous worksheets, caused boredom and resulted in low learning motivation among students. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Make a Match learning model in improving students’ learning motivation in Al-Qur’an Hadith classes at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School. This study employed an experimental research design. The research was conducted at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School. The total population consisted of 259 students, and a sample of 64 students was selected and divided into three classes, including 18 students in the qualitative class. Data were collected through observations and students’ achievement scores. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings revealed that: (1) the implementation of the Make a Match learning model in Al-Qur’an Hadith classes at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School demonstrated considerable potential to improve learning effectiveness and enhance both students’ and teachers’ learning experiences, although additional efforts were required to support successful and sustainable implementation; and (2) there was an increase in students’ learning motivation after the application of the Make a Match learning model in Al-Qur’an Hadith learning. This finding was supported by observation results and students’ achievement scores. The significance level obtained was 5% with a confidence level of 95% and 8 degrees of freedom. The significance value obtained was 0.000, indicating that 0.000 < ? = 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Make a Match learning model significantly improved students’ learning motivation.
