Abstract

Students of the Muhammadiyah University of Kuningan's Community Service Program (KKN) conducted a community service activity called the MADINA Program (Advancing in Faith and Children's Knowledge) in Kertayasa Village, Panawangan District, Ciamis Regency. Through Islamic religious education implemented consistently, participatory, and contextually, this program aims to improve the formation of children's morals. Three Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (DTA) institutions served as research locations, and a qualitative approach was used to collect data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The Miles & Huberman model was used to conduct data analysis, which included presentation, verification, reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the MADINA program not only teaches the Quran, but also teaches Islamic behavior such as discipline, politeness, and what children should do in everyday life. Success in creating a religious and enjoyable learning environment depends on the active involvement of parents, DTA teachers, and the community. The MADINA program offers scientific developments in a religious community-based service model that integrates faith and character education through sustainable and participatory learning activities at the village level.

Abstract

Lingkar Sosial Indonesia, as a partner in this social service program, is a non-profit organization partner working on disability empowerment. The partner's main problem is the manual and illogical recording of data on Individuals with Special Needs (ISN) at the Disability Posyandu, which causes data to be easily lost and difficult to use for further planning programs. Posyandu activities have not been systematically structured, cadres' knowledge of promotive and preventive programs is limited, and socialization of job vacancies for people with disabilities is less than optimal. This program aims to develop technology-based solutions through the creation of a Disability Information System (Si-DIFA) that supports ISN data management, posyandu program development, educational information provision, and access to job vacancies specifically for people with disabilities. Program implementation includes five stages: (1) socialization and communication of needs, (2) training and application planning with technology experts, (3) creation and implementation of the Si-DIFA website, (4) mentoring and evaluation of cadre skills, and (5) continued planning through documentation and socialization. The results of the activity include the creation of a website-based application, namely, Si-DIFA, with features for ISN data collection, posyandu schedules, educational information, job vacancies, and statistical reports. A user manual has also been developed, tested with cadres, and socialization of its use has been conducted. This program has resulted in improved cadre skills, simplified recording and reporting, and expanded access to education for the community. Si-DIFA provides a strong managerial foundation for integrated health posts (Posyandu) for people with disabilities and has the potential to be replicated in other regions. The program has high potential for replication at other Posyandu for people with disabilities.

Abstract

This community service initiative was driven by the weak governance of micro-enterprises in rural areas, which hold significant economic potential but remain underutilized both managerially and ecologically. Pokmas Al-Fatihah Farm in Jelbuk Village, Jember Regency, serves as a case in point, focusing on the production of cassava-based plate chips. Despite the promising market opportunities, the group faced persistent challenges related to business management, pricing strategies, and production efficiency. By applying the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the program sought to embed green economy principles into the cooperative’s operations. The activities included training on simple financial record-keeping, the adoption of environmentally friendly appropriate technologies, and counseling on business efficiency and sustainability. The outcomes demonstrated a notable enhancement in members’ managerial capabilities, more efficient use of raw materials and energy, as well as the cultivation of ecological awareness in enterprise management. Ultimately, this program highlights a model of village-level economic empowerment that is both adaptive to environmental challenges and aligned with sustainable development goals.

Abstract

The issues of low self-confidence and insufficient learning motivation among junior high school students in rural contexts represent significant challenges for character development and educational achievement. This condition is particularly evident at SMP Tanwirul Qulub, Central Lombok, where the majority of students come from farming families with limited socio-economic backgrounds. In response, this community engagement program was designed to enhance students’ self-confidence, foster learning motivation, and improve social competencies through outbound activities grounded in experiential learning. The intervention was structured using Kolb’s Experiential Learning Model, which consists of four sequential stages: Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualization, and Active Experimentation. The program was implemented in three sessions, including ice breaking, core games (Seven Boom and Group Vampire), and reflective discussions. The participants comprised 18 students aged 12–15 years. The findings revealed noticeable improvements, as demonstrated by students’ greater involvement in discussions, increased willingness to express opinions, and enhanced awareness of the value of education. These outcomes suggest that outbound-based experiential learning can serve as a strategic and transformative approach for character formation and motivation enhancement in educational settings with limited resources.

Abstract

This community service project aimed to improve reading literacy and character education among elementary students through the integration of Minahasan folktales and the digital platform Qreatif.id. Conducted at SD Katolik St. Nikolaus Talawaan, North Minahasa, the program adopted a participatory and descriptive approach involving 20 third-grade students and three teachers. The activities combined guided reading sessions using local folktales and digital literacy training through Qreatif.id. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, classroom observations, and reflective interviews, and analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results revealed significant improvements in students’ reading fluency, comprehension, moral reasoning, and motivation. The number of fluent readers increased from 20% to 75%, comprehension accuracy rose to 85%, and moral understanding improved by over 50%. Teachers also demonstrated greater confidence in integrating digital media into instruction. This study concludes that combining local cultural materials with digital platforms provides an effective, contextualized, and engaging model for literacy learning while promoting cultural preservation and 21st-century digital competencies.

Abstract

Consumers are key determinants of business success, as the success of a food product is closely linked to its sales volume. This community engagement program was carried out through mentoring activities that emphasized the implementation of a customer-centric approach in small snack enterprises. In this approach, consumers are placed at the core of product planning, development, and marketing processes. Business actors who apply this principle are more capable of formulating strategies that correspond to customer needs, which in turn strengthens customer loyalty and increases sales performance. The training component also provided practical guidance on licensing procedures for food enterprises, grounded in the protection of consumer rights as regulated under Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection. The program was implemented through direct mentoring and training for micro-enterprise actors. The results indicate that the customer-centric approach enhances entrepreneurs’ understanding of the importance of consumer research through segmentation analysis and product adaptation. Micro-enterprises in the food sector that adopted this approach demonstrated greater ability to design relevant business strategies aligned with customer expectations. The activity, which engaged 30 packaged-snack micro-entrepreneurs. The number of participants holding a NIB increased from 16 to 26, and several subsequently advanced to register for the SPP-IRT.

Abstract

The revitalization of village tourist areas is an important step to increase the attractiveness and sustainability of community-based tourist destinations. This study explains the application of an approach that involves participation in destination development in Pao village, Gowa Regency, especially in the Bantimurung Glang Waterfall area. The activities carried out include training in the field of services and improvement of the area, such as rearrangement of locations and installation of information boards, with the aim of strengthening community participation and improving facilities and services in the tourism sector. Preliminary data shows that the infrastructure and management system of the area still need to be improved, which can be seen from the low level of visitor satisfaction and the lack of supporting equipment. By using a participation-based service method, it is hoped that the management of the area can continue and empower the local community, as well as improve their knowledge and skills in managing tourist destinations. This approach not only focuses on the physical aspect, but also pays attention to the social and institutional aspects of the community, so that the community's ability to manage village tourism can be strengthened, supporting the sustainable and inclusive development of tourism villages.

Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial period in human life, characterised by the transition from childhood to adulthood. During this phase, adolescents often encounter various challenges, including those related to sexual behaviour.   The sexual behaviours exhibited by adolescents can carry high risks and negatively impact their reproductive health, such as the risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and the possibility of unintended pregnancies. The implementation of this community service programme is conducted through a series of structured stages. These stages include the development of educational media, the delivery of information using animated video media, and mentoring carried out in collaboration with organisations focused on HIV prevention. In this programme, information regarding HIV is conveyed to 22 students who are members of the Student Council (OSIS) at SMK Negeri 2 Tangerang. The process of delivering information is conducted through several steps, beginning with the administration of a pre-test to assess the students' initial knowledge, followed by education presented in the form of animated videos, and concluding with a post-test to evaluate the understanding gained after participating in the programme. The results of this community service programme indicate an increase in the students' knowledge regarding HIV, as well as a change in attitudes related to the transmission of the HIV virus before and after the information was provided.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to improve household financial literacy among housewives who are members of the Family Welfare Movement Team in Bajo Village, Tilamuta District, Boalemo Regency. The main problems faced by the partners include low levels of knowledge and skills in household financial management, weak financial planning and record-keeping, and the absence of a sustainable saving culture. The activity was implemented using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through five stages: socialization, training, technology implementation, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The results show a 70% increase in financial literacy understanding, accompanied by changes in economic behavior from consumptive to more productive patterns, improved abilities in household financial planning and record-keeping, and the utilization of digital technologies such as the Money Lover application, Canva, and a household financial literacy website. In addition, a housewives’ financial literacy community was established to ensure program sustainability and to promote the strengthening of the local economy based on financial literacy and digital transformation. This model has the potential to be replicated in other villages as a form of women’s empowerment to enhance household economic resilience at the village level.

Abstract

The ability to read and write the Qur’an is a fundamental skill that every Muslim should possess. However, in reality, many children and adolescents still cannot read the Qur’an properly and accurately according to tajwid rules. This mentoring program aims to enhance students' ability to read the Qur’an in a tartil manner (slowly, clearly, and correctly) following tajwid rules, train and develop their skills in writing Hijaiyah letters and Qur’anic verses accurately, foster motivation, interest, and love for the Qur’an from an early age, and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the Tilawati Method in Qur’anic literacy mentoring. The program employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving teachers, students (santri), and mentors in every stage: problem identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. Results show that the Tilawati Method is effective evidenced by significant improvement: 18 out of 20 students could read the Qur’an fluently, 17 could write Hijaiyah letters correctly, and 16 could memorize five short surahs with tartil. The method was applied through talaqqi and musyafahah approaches, where students read directly in front of mentors, allowing immediate correction of reading errors. Mentoring was conducted progressively from introducing Hijaiyah letters, practicing tartil reading, to improving fluency in reciting Qur’anic verses. In conclusion, Tilawati-based mentoring is effective in enhancing basic Qur’anic reading skills and can serve as a strategic approach for Qur’anic education in TPQs (Qur’anic Learning Centers) and other Islamic educational institutions.
