Jurnal Gramatika: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (2442-8485) & (2460-6316), well-known as GRAMATIKA, is an international forum for original research focused on identities as local contexts, like an identity in linguistics, identity in literature, and identity in language education in global and local contexts, especially in Indonesia. These may include but are not limited to various fields, such as we are interested in interdisciplinary studies examining how issues of linguistics, literature, and education in language influence individual and community identities. In order to publish in GRAMATIKA, a study must have an overview of previous research or theoretical concepts that are packaged to justify the novelty/uniqueness of this study and central focus on local, foreign, minority, heritage, or indigenous languages (or non-standard dialects) and their intersection with either identity and/or education in language, linguistics and literature. We welcome a variety of topics, theoretical orientations, and methodological approaches (both qualitative and quantitative). Jurnal Gramatika: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia published by Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat, in collaboration with Asosiasi Dosen Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (ADOBSI) and Perkumpulan Pengelola Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia serta Pengajarannya (PPJB-SIP). Issues are published biannual (April and October) in English since 2020. Submissions are open year-around. However, before submitting, please ensure that the manuscript within Jurnal Gramatika: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is written in English or Bahasa Indonesia and follows our focus and scope and author guidelines. Jurnal Gramatika: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia has been accredited by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the Republic of Indonesia in 2018 (SINTA 3). Now, Jurnal Gramatika: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia has been accredited SINTA 2 (2020) by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the Republic of Indonesia started from Volume 6 Number 1 (2020). The last accreditation is valid until 2025.

Abstract

Advertisement is a medium used to support an activity or a business. Through advertisement, the activity can spread out to the public or people. The study of advertisement can be associated to the field of pragmatics because  it contains several speech acts used by the producer or the content creator to the target of the advertisements itself, which one of them is commissive speech act. In relation to its purpose that is to introduce or to promote a product, either things or services, the commissive speech act is an effective way to use to attract the public’s attention. This research is aimed at identifying and explaining the functions and the strategies of the commissive speech acts. The source of data is the commercial advertisements of household appliances and health products on MNC Shop in December 2018. The data are collected by using observational method with recording and writing technique and analyzed by using pragmatic identity method. The result of the research shows that the commissive speech acts in the commercial advertisements of MNC Shop comprise promising, giving a guarantee, making a bet, and convincing. Meanwhile, the strategies used are direct utterance, literal direct utterance, and literal indirect utterance.

Abstract

In the latest decade sociolinguistics scholars have developed a special field of study that concerned to the use of language in public spaces, called linguistic landscape (LL). Many scholars believe research on LL still requires a lot of theoretical and methodological development because LL field varied, complex, rapidly developing and there are shifts between different idea settings. As a consequence LL became highly inter-disciplinary research domain which dealt with written signs in public spaces from many different perspective. This article propose critical linguistic landscape studies as an alternative concept aimed to examining the using of language sign in public spaces, particularly concern in the study of critical discourse. This concept is unique because moving on beyond the tendency of many earlier LL works which still trapped in the distributional level of analysis language sign in public space, so that this LL studies need seeks to enter productive aspects of using language signs in public space as a text at interpretative level. This is library research which is designed as descriptive qualitative study, as well-known as theoretical review. The technique used in exploring the ideas is comparative material base on early work of LL studies. The primary sources of this study are research reports, journals, books and other scientific papers discussed about LL, that represent original thinking

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan menulis narasi ekspositoris. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan sampel berjumlah 34 orang siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Lembah Gumanti Kabupaten Solok. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara pengamatan aktivitas belajar dan tes unjuk kerja menulis narasi ekspositoris. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis narasi ekspositoris siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Lembah Gumanti. Peningkatan ini dapat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata tes siswa pada prasiklus, siklus I, dan siklus II. Pada prasiklus, nilai rata-rata siswa 52,82 dengan kualifikasi hampir sedang. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata siswa 69,96 dengan kualifikasi cukup. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata siswa 78,80 dengan kualifikasi baik. Persentase kenaikan nilai rata-rata siswa dari prasiklus ke siklus I sebesar 17,14%. Persentase kenaikan nilai rata-rata siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 8,84%. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan menulis narasi ekspositoris, model pembelajaran ini juga meningkatkan sikap dan perilaku positif siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Analisis kebutuhan dalam mata kuliah bahasa Indonesia sangat penting peranannya. Analisis tersebut akan membantu institusi pendidikan atau para dosen untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pembelajaran mata kuliah bahasa Indonesia baik dalam jangka pendek maupun jangka panjang. Dewasa ini, banyak dosen yang menggunakan silabus yang secara umum dikembangkan berdasarkan intuisi semata dan bukan karena adanya analisis kebutuhan. analisis ini digunakan untuk mengumpulkan informasi kebutuhan mahasiswa dan memfokuskan pada kebutuhan saat ini seperti potensi dan kebutuhan yang tak tampak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan kebutuhan dan keinginan yang diharapkan dalam keefektifan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia dengan redesain silabus untuk mahasiswa di UIN Banten. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester I Prodi Ekonomi Syariah tahun ajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 60 orang dan beberapa dosen. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa data deskriptif kualitatif yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dan angket. Data tersebut berupa masalah-masalah yang dihadapi mahasiswa dan kebutuhan atau keinginan mahasiswa selama mempelajari mata kuliah bahasa Indonesia di UIN Banten. Hasil penelitian menyatakan tentang kebutuhan mahasiswa dan pandangan para dosen dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang meliputi dimensi konten, strategi pembelajaran, ragam bahasa, tujuan pembelajaran, pembelajaran sastra, dan penilaian.

Abstract

This study aims to describe ideological formation and ideological negotiations in the drama text "Ronda" by Atut Adi Baskoro. With the focus of the problem raised in this study is the study of drama text by describing ideological formation and ideological negotiations in order to find the use of dominant group ideology and its impact on subaltern groups so that dominant ideologies and negotiated ideologies can be known. The ideological concept in this study uses a literary sociology approach initiated by Antonio Gramsci. The method used is descriptive quality. Data analysis techniques use content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate the existence of ideological formation in the text, namely from the dominant group adhering to the ideology of fascism and anarchism which dominates the subaltern group of adherents of ideological mysticism. In the text also found the new common sense of the dominant and subaltern groups after ideological negotiations between the dominant and subaltern groups. The new common sense is in the form of a humanist ideology that prioritizes human values and position and makes it a criterion in all things.

Abstract

Opinion discourse that contained in a rubric of mass media can become an alternative media of bahasa Indonesia learning in schools, especially in opinion discourse  material . One of the elements which need to be researched in opinion discourse is cohesion aspect. Cohesive subject of discourse can be determined by grammatical and lexical aspect. Grammatical cohesion aspect is characterized by the conjunction,  ellipsis, substitution, and the reference. Lexical cohesion among other aspects of the reiteration and collocation. In order to get maximum results, these studies only focuses on one of grammatical cohesion aspect, i.e. conjunction aspect. Based on the analysis of the data that has been carried out, from 16 opinion discourse, there is  48  paragraph  of samples with 95 pairs of adjacent obtained the result that 10 pairs were using grammatical cohesion  in the form of  the conjunction  is around 10.5% and 85 pairs of adjacent sentences that not use the cohesion in the form of the conjunction  is about 89,4%. However, it doesn’t mean that the adjecent pair is not cohesive in grammatical basis, considering there were still 3 other factors grammatical cohesion forming beside the conjunction, i.e.,  reference, substitution and ellipsis.

Abstract

Due to the unequal positions of the participants, academic interactions that occur during undergraduate thesis defense sessions in universities are a social arena that allows the emergence of power relations. This study sought to elucidate the forms of interrogation employed by lecturers in academic discourse during undergraduate thesis defense sessions. This study employed a qualitative approach with a critical discourse analysis design. Data were collected through recording, observation, and interviews and then evaluated using a critical discourse analysis framework. The results showed that lecturers used various forms of questions in academic interactions, including closed-ended questions, open-ended questions, and task-oriented questions. These questions reflect the unequal relationship between lecturers and students. Lecturers have the authority to control and dominate academic interactions in undergraduate thesis defenses.

Abstract

The Galela ethnicity who live in Galogalo Village, South Morotai District, Morotai Island Regency, North Maluku Province until now still maintain and believe in the tradition of local wisdom of their ancestors, namely haogumi (knowledge and belief in catching fish). Haogumi is a traditional fishing technique that involves the community as the owner of the local wisdom tradition. Maintaining and preserving haogumi amidst the onslaught of modernization is a strategic step in protecting local wisdom in a society increasingly eroded by the times. One of the functions of haogumi is to maintain the natural environment and the behaviour of the people around it. This research aims to describe the haogumi local wisdom tradition contained in the community as knowledge and belief in catching fish. This article uses ethnolinguistic research through qualitative descriptive methods. The research results show that the Galela ethnic who lived in Galogalo Village once had a tradition of local wisdom in the form of haogumi. The traditional lexicon of local wisdom forms is: 1. haogumi; 2. ok higaro ma; 3. kugi; 4. kota; and 5. bori.

Abstract

The presence of children in household life challenges the parents, particularly in terms of how to grow and educate them. The first step in establishing communication between children is towards the use of language and expressions. The language used varies and will continue to change as the child's life and age progress. This paper aims to elaborate on the instructions of the Qur'an and Sunnah regarding the language style that parents should use when educating their children. This research used qualitative research  used library research towards secondary data in the form of interpretations of Quranic verses and Sunnah explanations of parental language styles and expressions in educating children found in Islamic teachings. The data were analyzed using a content analysis approach and added by theory of discourse analysis. The research shows that the Qur'an and Sunnah have guided parents to use polite, gentle, and loving language in educating their children regardless of their age or the good or bad of their behavior. The language discourses used by the parents to teach the children have already been stated into alquran and sunnah based on the ages of the children itself.

Abstract

This research aims to present learning systems and teaching materials based on local wisdom teaching design Indonesian for foreign speakers at Thammasat University and Normal University Manila. This study uses qualitative methods and obtaining research data using participant observation (participant observation), in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show: 1)  The prospects of Indonesian in Thailand and the Philippines show that the establishment of diplomatic relations and education and become the official language of ASEAN countries, 2) BIPA learning in Indonesia  Based on the curriculum created by the Central Agency for Diplomacy, learners are targeted to master four skills: reading, writing, 3) BIPA materials in Thailand and the Philippines are tailored to the purposes of foreigners, this enabling BIPA  students to speak Indonesian in a formal and informal and familiar with Indonesian culture. 4)  Local wisdom in BIPA learning in Thailand and the Philippines introduced Indonesian culture. So, BIPA has become very important in Thailand and the Philippines because it is the language of choice of the ASEAN Economic Community.
