Abstract

This study explores efforts to enhance religious moderation among the Madurese community through local wisdom-based religious mentoring. The concept of wisdom here encompasses social religion, social culture, and social economy. The research focuses on strengthening Madurese community moderatism through such mentoring activities. Conducted as a field study with qualitative methods, this research relies on primary data from observations and interviews, and secondary data from statistical and literature sources. Using the Miles and Huberman analysis technique, the study yields two key findings. Firstly, the current state of religious moderation in Madurese society is unhealthy, evidenced by the rise of religious groups or movements exhibiting conservatism and radical tendencies in addressing contemporary social religious issues. Secondly, the Madurese community possesses local wisdom values that support religious moderation, including pesantren institutions, traditional cultural constructions with high respect for religious symbols, and diverse resources significantly influencing collective religious awareness. Efforts to strengthen religious moderation involve local wisdom-based diversity assistance activities, utilizing community worldviews that reflect their creativity and unique social religious characteristics. This study's results can significantly contribute to enhancing religious moderation in Indonesia, serving as a reference for other regions with similar characteristics. The findings can help develop a religious mentoring model that leverages local wisdom and measures its effectiveness in fostering moderate attitudes and behaviors.

Abstract

This research focuses on implementing Elsimil to increase family resilience and prevent stunting in children. This research uses library research methods. Primary data includes works such as "Ushul Fiqh" by Amir Syarifuddin, while secondary data includes books, articles, and other relevant literature. The findings of this study show that Elsimil contributes to family resilience by preventing stunting in children. This is achieved by early pregnancy planning and addressing early health problems. From the perspective of sadd dzariah, Elsimil is classified as neutral sadd dzariah by Ibn Qayyim, which involves using precautionary measures to avoid potential harm. Specifically, Elsimil serves as a means to prevent marital discord by offering early health intervention for expectant parents. Implementing Elsimil as a tool for family resilience, from Sadd Dzariah's perspective, is the right step. By planning pregnancies early and providing solutions for prospective brides and grooms, Elsimil helps prevent the birth of children with disabilities, thereby fostering household harmony. The implications of this research highlight the importance of integrating modern technological tools with traditional Islamic principles to increase family resilience and ensure the well-being of future generations.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high rate of early marriage in the Jember Regency, even though there are regulations that set a minimum age limit for marriage. This phenomenon is a serious concern considering the negative impacts it causes, both in terms of health, education, and social welfare. This study aims to explore the social and cultural factors that influence the practice of early marriage and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing regulations on the age limit for marriage in the region. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of related documents. The study results show that although regulations have been implemented, their implementation is still hampered by the strong local culture that supports early marriage and low public awareness of the risks and implications of early marriage. In addition, socialization and supervision efforts from the government still need to be improved to be more effective. The discussion of this study highlights the need for a more holistic approach in dealing with early marriage by involving various parties, including religious and community leaders, to support more significant changes in community behavior towards early marriage.

Abstract

This study explores applying Ibn Khaldun's mixed learning concept to improving learning outcomes in Islamic boarding schools. The study used a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Optimal Matching Analysis (OMA) method. The study results showed that cognitive learning concepts, such as concept learning, understanding, problem-solving, logic, and public speaking, developed significantly through the fat al-listen constructivism-based forum. Learning outcomes are not only limited to understanding but also include analysis, even to the creation stage. The class discussion forum becomes a stepping stone for students to face more significant challenges outside the classroom. The four Fatq al-Lisan constructivism-based forums ala Ibn Khaldun positively impact the development of linguistic, logic, and interpersonal skills, which are part of multiple intelligences. These findings have implications for the development of 21st-century skills, where students are not only required to master higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) collaboratively but also support linguistic, logical, and interpersonal skills.

Abstract

This research analyzes grassroots initiatives for religious moderation in overcoming radicalism in rural areas. This research uses a qualitative case study approach. Data collection techniques use interview observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that grassroots initiatives through moderate religious education, strengthening local wisdom, cooperation and collaboration, and cultural and social approaches have successfully built collective awareness about the importance of religious moderation. These programs encourage active community involvement in maintaining harmony and preventing the spread of radical ideology. The success of this initiative was also marked by increased tolerance and solidarity among village residents, as well as a significant reduction in incidents of religious-based violence. This research confirms that a bottom-up approach to religious moderation has great potential in building community resilience against radicalism, especially in rural areas, vulnerable to external influences.
