Ethno-science is as an attempt "to recast what serves as science to others, their practice of taking care of themselves and their bodies, their botanical knowledge, but also the form of their classification, making connections, etc. Educational research is a systematic attempt to gain a better understanding of the educational process, with the aim of increasing its efficiency. This is done by applying the scientific method to studying educational problems. Ethno-science learning aims to reconstruct cultural knowledge and local wisdom. This learning process is very flexible and useful in combining basic and applied scientific research in education. Abstract

The welfare of fishermen in Indonesia is still very low and many of them have not been able to meet their family's daily needs. This is caused by various factors that affect their economic condition. This paper aims to conduct economic empowerment training for fisheries communities in Ambulu Village, Losari District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, Indonesia. In this study, 115 respondents Ambulu village fishermen are included in the study. The reviewed factors include social factors, work system factors, and economic factors themselves in meet the needs of fishermen's family. Abstract

In writing the inscription, several things need to be considered, one of which is the number of years. One example of an inscription that engraves the number of years up to thousands is the Sirah Keting Inscription. The condition of the inscription when it was found was worn, including the year number. According to J. L. A. Brandes and W. F. Stutterheim, the Sirah Kĕting inscription dates to 1026 Śaka, while according to the reading of Louis-Charles Damais, the year number is 1126 Śaka. The correctness of the differences in the reading of the number of years can be traced by using the Bratakesawa Tabulation, Damais Tabulation, Zeller Formual, and Sivaraman Formula. The four methods used gave the same results. The missing number in the hundreds position is 1 so that the number of years inscribed on the Sirah Keting Inscription is 1126 Saka or 1204 AD.

Abstract

One of the challenges now faced by the parents of young children, especially at the early childhood level of education is to teach reading. This paper aims to find out some more effective ways to teach reading to the children. The method discussed in this paper include: using children’s songs and books, using game card , through guessing game, using variety of study applications, and the parent’s patience. The results of the study show that in order to teach reading to early childhood, the parent or teacher must be able to choose a method that suits the child's situation, abilities and interests. Thus, it will able to increase children's ability and interest in reading and avoid boredom.

Abstract

The Rajaban tradition is a tradition of religious rituals as an expression of gratitude and moments to commemorate historical events, one of which is the change in the direction of Qibla from Baitul Maqdis to the Kaaba in Mecca. Based on these problems, in this article, it is shown by using the study of Graph Theory, namely the eccentric digraph to determine the center of the earth's region. Data processing is done by making the Kaaba and the seven continents on the earth's surface as a point on graph G and the side connecting the points is the distance (in km) with physical boundaries between them being considered non-existent. The results of the discussion show that the Kaaba in Mecca is the center of the earth's area with ec(v1) = 12,039 = rad(G).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of junior high school students in solving closed and open mathematical problems and to describe the causes of junior high school students experiencing these difficulties. As many as 25 students of class VIII-D from one of the State Junior High Schools in Bandung Regency were used as research samples. Data was collected by using test techniques, interviews, and document studies. The stages of data analysis carried out are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that students had difficulty in converting the problem into a mathematical model, determining the required decision variables, calculating multiplication and division operations, and determining more than one answer in solving open problems. The difficulties experienced by these students are caused by the following: students feel that the problem given is something new, students are less careful in understanding the problems given, students still do not master the material, students are less careful in performing arithmetic operations, and students not accustomed to solving problems in the form of problem solving and open questions.

Abstract

This research addresses students’ motivation in influncing learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to describe the students’ condition of motivation in learning English whether it tends to be integrative or instrumental and the extent to which their motivation in learning English may influence students’ learning outcome. This research was conducted based on principles of qualitative research. The researcher conducted an online interview to collect the data. The mid-term test grade are used as the learning outcome. Data gained in the interview and Mid-term test grade were compared and then analyzed it descriptively. Population of this study are students at grade nine. It is about 29 students in a class. The result performs that students in learning English were motivated by both instrumental and integrative motivation. That is motivation to have wider social contact with target language speakers and also motivation to utilize English as a tool to gain certain goals like good grade or future goals. Based on the findings, it is suggested that the teacher should able to motivate the students’ in learning through developing his/her teaching materials concerned with integrative and instrumental motivation to motivate students’ in learning English

Abstract

The main objective of this study is build the new normal bogor batik village which is integrated with collaborative learning, so as to create the academic triangle ecosystem. The academic triangle is cyclical in nature, which continues as an ecosystem of education, research and entrepreneurship (not only being an entrepreneur but an entrepreneurial spirit that never gives up in the face of all obstacles). This cycle involves lecturers and students who at the same time have a positive impact on improving the social economy and strengthening local culture. Hopefully, in the end, the ecosystem can become a laboratory for strengthening the academic triangle

Abstract

In this study, mathematical concepts are used to explore the existence of mathematics in culture, especially in the Tasikmalaya group of geulis. By observing the current conditions, the activity of making kelom geulis is seen as a "mathematical-free" activity. It is still rare and there is still a lack of public knowledge about ethnomathematics which colors the activities of making kelom geulis as a motivation to investigate the mathematical knowledge contained in it. In addition, with the decreasing number of kelom geulis craftsmen as a result of the use of kelom geulis left by the original community producing these products. This study aims to determine and describe the ethnomathematics of the geulis group. The method used is qualitative with ethnographic methods. The subjects in this study were selected using a purposive sampling method with the research subject being a kelom geulis craftsman in the Tamansari (Gobras) area, Mulyasari, Tasikmalaya. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used in the research is data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there are mathematical concepts in the geulis group, especially in the discussion of flat shapes such as rectangles, circles and triangles. This research also produces a linear equation that relates the length of the foot to the size of the geulis group.
