Abstract

Seagrass transplants are performed to repair damaged seagrass beds or to establish new seagrass beds in areas where seagrass has yet to grow. The goal of this research was to determine the survival and growth rates of seagrass transplanted using the Sprig Anchor method, which was designed with environmentally friendly technology. This study was carried out in the coastal waters of Ternate's Kastela island from May to September 2022. The Sprig Anchor method was used in this study, which involves planting media made of strong grass ropes 2 meters long and 5 replications for each type of seagrass. Each seagrass seed is attached to the media with a soluble binder, thread. The distance between the gardens on each rope is 20 cm, so each frame contains 100 seagrass seeds. The results showed that T hemprichii seagrass transplanted using the sprig anchor method and this rope media had a 70% survival rate. This value is higher than the survival rate of seagrass Cyamodocea sp. transplanted using a similar method, which was only 53%. For 8 weeks, the daily growth rate of seagrass T hemprichii ranged from 0.023 to 0.038 cm/day, while seagrass Cyamodecea sp only ranged from 0.015 to 0.021 cm/day.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is the development of traditional food in North Maluku by studying the physicochemical characteristics of ready-to-eat canned candle vegetables and optimizing processed products that are canned by meeting quality standards, especially nutritional information. The implementation method is the optimization and characterization of canned wax vegetables with 2 different varieties, namely orange sayur lilin (SLO). As a result that optimization on 2 varieties of canned sayur lilin did not have significant differences with physical properties in the color of each L* (65.90-66.03), a+ (45.23-48.43), and b+ (38.25-39.05). Chemical properties include total energy 53.06-54.12 kcal/100g, total fat 2.98-3.01%, protein 1.70-1.75%, carbohydrates 4.86-4.99%, water content 88.96-88.99% and ash content 1.50-1.62%. In conclusion that the traditional food canning of wax vegetables with two different varieties provides product quality information the product affected by the properties of the material that is easily mushy due to the presence of heat and also stirring makes the product easily destroyed, but does not damage the chemical components of the final product.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the form of urban forest management and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in urban forest management in Rum Village, Tidore Islands City. This research was conducted by using a qualitative approach in which this research is descriptive and tends to use process and meaning analysis (source perspective). The data collection techniques that the researchers used in this study were observation, literature and interviews. The population in this study was the Head of the Tidore Archipelago City Environment Service and the Head of the Tidore Islands City Research and Development Agency. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the management activities of the Rum Balibunga Urban Forest carried out by the relevant agencies were still very minimal and it was known that there was coordination between the relevant agencies in the management of the Rum Balibunga urban forest, where if the relevant agencies would carry out activities for development in the urban forest of Rum Balibunga, they would always carry out coordination with the Department of the Environment (DLH) of the City of Tidore Islands. Inhibiting factors and supporting factors are budget constraints, level of awareness and lack of access to the urban forest.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa commodities and their derivatives before and after the implementation of export duties in Indonesia. The data used is for the period before 2000-2009 and the period after 2010-2020. The method used is the analysis of the RSCA Index and the Trade Specialization Index (TSI). The research results show an analysis of competitiveness based on: (1) RSCA Index: In the previous condition, Indonesia was an exporter and had competitiveness in the commodities of cocoa beans, cocoa butter and cocoa powder, while cocoa paste did not have competitiveness. In the following conditions, the commodities whose competitiveness decreased were cocoa beans and cocoa powder, the commodities whose competitiveness increased were cocoa paste, and the commodities whose competitiveness remained strong were cocoa butter. (2) TS Index: in the previous conditions, Indonesia was an exporting country for the commodities of cocoa beans, cocoa butter, cocoa paste and cocoa powder. In the following conditions, Indonesia is an importing country for cocoa bean commodities, while Indonesia remains an exporting country for cocoa butter, cocoa paste and cocoa powder.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how many crabs are caught in the converted ecosystem area for the construction of the Archipelago Fishing port (PPN). In this study, the analysis will be carried out between the number of crabs caught, the ratio of crabs caught, sex Nisbag, TKG, IKG of mangrove crabs (Scylla serrata). The research was conducted in November 2021 - until February 2022 in the Nusantara Fisheries Port Area - to the mouth of the Maro River. This research uses a descriptive survey method at the research location in the Kali Maro River, Karang Indah Village, the oceanic Fisheries Port area, Merauke District, Merauke Regency. The determination of the location point was carried out by purposive sampling method and based on the abundance of crabs (the location of crab fishing and based on fishermen who often catch crabs at certain location points), the characteristics of each observation area (with 3 different location points). The catch of salaam mangrove crabs in the study was 23, namely 9 males and 14 females. The ratio between male and female crabs at station 1 (one) was 1.2 : 1. At station II (two) between males and females 1: 2.5 and at station III between males and females have a ratio of 0.25: 1. the results of the chi-square test analysis at the 95% confidence interval obtained x² count smaller than the T table and declared insignificant.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the status of the sustainability and the factors supporting or hindering the livelihoods of tuna hand line fishermen on Buru Island which includes Buru and south Buru regency. This study applied the FLIRES (Fisheries Livelihood Resilience) Check instrument which combines the principles of the Sustainable Livelihood Analysis (SLA) with the RAPFISH approach. Data collection started from March to August 2020, through observations and interviews of tuna hand line fishermen respondents in seventeen coastal villages in Buru and South Buru. Data were analyzed using RAPFISH which includes multidimensional scaling (MDS), leverage and monte carlo analysis. The results obtained, some index values of livelihood’s sustainability of tuna hand line fishers in the research location, in six fields, namely natural, human, physical, financial, social and instituional, ranged from 43.11 to 69.43, which indicate that the status of livelihoods in Buru is less sustainable in the natural field, while in South Buru it less sustainable in the human, physical and financial fields. Meanwhile, other fields indicate a fairly sustainable status. This study also identified there were 17 sensitive attributes from all fields that were supporting or hindering factors for the livelihood of tuna hand line fishermen in the research location. This finding has been expected to become a reference in improving the sustainability of the livelihoods of tuna hand line fishermen on Buru Island.

Abstract

Pterocaesio tile are generally caught by encircling gill nets using the schooling behavior of these species. The purpose of this study was analyze the biological reproduction of P. tile which induced sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index and size at first maturity. Data collection was carried out from October to December 2022. The data collection method was conducted using experimental fishing methods by operating unit gill net with mesh size of 1,75 and 2,0 inch. Fish samples of each actual fishing were measured total length and weight, dissected to determine sex, measured gonad weight and determined the level of gonadal maturity. The results showed that the sex ratio of male fish was higher than female fish. The GML phase is in phases I-V where the immature gonads are more dominant than the mature gonads, the GSI increases as GML increases. The size at first maturity for males is 20.6 cm and 18.6 cm for females.
