Abstract

Public service delivery constitutes one of the fundamental functions of government. In this regard, the presence of public bureaucracy is indispensable for ensuring the effective provision of services to citizens. The government is responsible for providing goods and services needed by the wider public, both through bureaucratic institutions and through State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). The role of SOEs reflects the mandate of Article 33 paragraph 2 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, which stipulates that strategic sectors of production that are vital to the state and affect the livelihood of the public shall be controlled by the state. Accordingly, state control over these strategic sectors is institutionalized through state enterprises. This article employs a library research approach by drawing on relevant documents, books, academic literature, and other secondary sources. As service excellence has long been associated with the institutional image of SOEs, the delivery of high-quality services to customers should become a core principle guiding all service activities. The discussion focuses on the key dimensions of service quality, namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the role of perceived value in mediating the influence of service quality and price perception on customer satisfaction at Makeup Rahmah. The research employed a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 188 customers selected using a simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 and LISREL 8.80 with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test both direct and indirect effects among variables. The results show that service quality has a significant effect on customer satisfaction, price perception has a significant effect on customer satisfaction, perceived value does not have a direct effect on customer satisfaction, and perceived value is not able to mediate the influence of service quality and price perception on customer satisfaction. The practical implications of this research suggest that makeup service providers, particularly Makeup Rahmah, should prioritize improving service quality, setting transparent and competitive prices, and enhancing perceived value creation to maintain customer loyalty and long-term satisfaction. The novelty of this study lies in its specific focus on the makeup service sector in the local Indonesian context (Ciampea, Bogor), which has rarely been examined using SEM with perceived value as a mediating variable. This research provides empirical evidence that distinguishes it from previous studies on service quality and price perception, offering new insights into consumer behavior in the beauty service industry.

Abstract

Digital transformation has fundamentally changed modern office management practices, particularly in how people work, communicate, and build social relationships within organizations. The shift from physical to virtual presence mediated by technology has improved efficiency, flexibility, and productivity. However, this transformation also presents challenges to essential human values such as empathy, solidarity, fairness, and emotional balance among employees. This study aims to examine the dynamics of interaction and the meaning of presence within the context of digital office management while formulating conceptual strategies to sustain human values amid the ongoing paradigm shift. Using a qualitative method through a literature review approach, this research highlights the concept of presence management as a strategic framework that places humans at the core of digital work systems. The findings emphasize the need to balance technological advancement with employees’ psychological well-being through the implementation of policies such as the right to disconnect, flexible working hours, and empathetic digital communication guided by ethical principles. The human-centered office management approach is crucial for fostering productive, inclusive, and sustainable digital workplaces, while ensuring that technological advancements do not diminish the value of human presence or erode the core values of humanity in modern office management.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) significantly transforms contemporary workplaces by improving efficiency and production. Nonetheless, its implementation also incurs unforeseen social and ethical ramifications. This study investigates the efficiency paradox of AI, emphasizing the impact of technical optimization on human values, social cohesiveness, and workplace culture. A qualitative literature assessment of studies from 2020 to 2025 delineates four principal themes: efficiency and automation, algorithmic bias, alteration of professional identity, and social interaction. Research indicates that AI can lead to dehumanization, deskilling, and diminished interpersonal communication, whereas algorithmic governance may exacerbate bias and inequality within businesses. These factors undermine trust and communal involvement. The study indicates that the ethical and human-centric integration of AI is crucial to ensure that efficiency gains align with inclusivity, justice, and the maintenance of social well-being in contemporary workplaces.

Abstract

Digital transformation has fundamentally changed the traditional role of office facilities and infrastructure, triggering the evolution from physical offices to smart and hybrid work environments. This study aims to identify the main drivers and synthesize the evolution of the role of facilities and infrastructure in supporting employee work effectiveness in the digital era. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review of 15 reputable primary sources from 2019 to 2025. The synthesis results show that the role of facilities and infrastructure is transforming in three main dimensions: (1) Digital facilities are evolving from paperless offices to AI-based smart automation. (2) Digital infrastructure (such as Cloud Computing) has become the main infrastructure that enables e-working and hybrid work. (3) Physical infrastructure has transformed into a user-centered Smart Workplace, where facility management is integrated with technology (IoT and Digital Twin) for efficiency and comfort. Crucially, the synthesis establishes a new theoretical framework: the interdependency between these three dimensions forms a Strategic Service Infrastructure. It can be concluded that the role of infrastructure has shifted from merely providing a place to supporting flexibility, which requires harmony between physical space and digital infrastructure to achieve optimal work effectiveness, and serves as a predictor for successful hybrid work implementation.
