Abstract

The quality of education in public elementary schools is influenced by leadership effectiveness, professional guidance for teachers, and teachers’ competence in managing learning. In East Ungaran District, variations in school performance indicate the need to identify key factors affecting educational quality. This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal’s transformational leadership, academic supervision, and teachers’ pedagogical competence on educational quality. A quantitative approach with a causal survey design was used, involving 148 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings show that transformational leadership, academic supervision, and pedagogical competence each have a positive and significant effect on educational quality, both partially and simultaneously. Transformational leadership has the strongest influence among the three variables. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.562 indicates that 56.2% of the variation in educational quality is explained by these factors. The study concludes that strengthening visionary leadership, systematic supervision, and pedagogical capacity is essential to create a collaborative and sustainable quality-oriented school environment.

Abstract

This study analyzes Paulo Freire’s philosophy of critical education and its relevance to modern educational practices, especially within the Indonesian context, by integrating it with Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas’s concept of ta’dīb. The background of this research is the dominance of traditional and neoliberal educational systems that often marginalize critical awareness, ethics, and spirituality in learning. The purpose of this research is to reinterpret Freire’s pedagogical framework to construct a more humanistic, dialogical, and spiritually grounded educational paradigm. Using a qualitative library research method, this study collects and analyzes primary sources from Freire’s works (Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Education for Critical Consciousness) and secondary literature from 2019–2025. The findings reveal that Freire’s key ideas, conscientização (critical consciousness), dialogue, and praxis, remain highly relevant in transforming education into a process of humanization and liberation. However, structural rigidity, exam-oriented curricula, and digital inequality still hinder its practical implementation. The synthesis of Freire’s praxis and al-Attas’s ta’dīb concept offers a holistic vision: education as both liberation from social oppression and purification of the self. The study concludes that integrating ethical and spiritual dimensions into critical pedagogy can reorient education toward forming reflective, responsible, and spiritually aware individuals, making it a transformative force for both personal and societal change.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling using finger puppets on the speaking skills of early childhood students, namely vocabulary, unclear pronunciation, and the ability to answer questions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were five children in Group A. Data were obtained through observation, tests, and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-tests. The results of the study show an increase in children's speaking abilities after being treated with the storytelling method using finger puppets. In terms of vocabulary, the percentage of children in the Developing as Expected (BSH) category increased from 0% to 40%. In terms of pronunciation, children who initially had difficulty pronouncing words clearly began to show progress, with 40% falling into the Beginning to Develop (MB) category. Meanwhile, in terms of answering questions, although most children were still in the Beginning to Develop category, there was an increase in children's courage in giving simple answers. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.099 > 0.05, which means that the increase was not statistically significant, but in practical terms, this method had a positive impact on the development of children's speaking skills.

Abstract

The integration of social media into higher education has the potential to enhance students’ creativity and communication skills when supported by appropriate instructional strategies. One such strategy is the use of e-scaffolding in project-based learning (PjBL) to guide students’ learning processes in digital environments. This study aims to describe and analyze the development of students’ creativity and communication skills through the use of TikTok social media based on e-scaffolding within a project-based learning model at the State University of Malang. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive quantitative research design. A pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design was used to examine changes in students’ abilities before and after the intervention. Data analysis revealed that the distribution was not normal; therefore, a non-parametric statistical test, namely the Wilcoxon test, was applied. The results showed a significant effect of TikTok-based e-scaffolding on students’ creativity development, with a significance value of 0.012 (p < 0.05). In addition, communication skills also demonstrated a significant improvement, indicated by a significance value of 0.033 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the use of e-scaffolding-based TikTok social media in project-based learning significantly contributes to the development of students’ creativity and communication skills.
