Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design an electronic magazine design so that students are interested in participating in the learning process. Many students find it difficult to understand biology concepts because they cannot see it directly. We can use Augmented Reality technology in e-magazine design as one of these innovations. Therefore, this descriptive research was conducted to design an electronic magazine based on Augmented Reality. The development process was carried out in two stages, namely analysis and design. The analysis phase was carried out by observation using a questionnaire and the design phase was carried out by utilizing various computer software. The result of this research was an e-magazine design that is integrated with Augmented Reality, so that students can see abstract biological objects by 3D Augmented Reality directly with the technology. These results are expected to be developed and conduct further testing

Abstract

Mastery of concepts is still the main standard of learning success in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze students' conceptual mastery of colloidal material through the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model. The research method used is the Pre-Experiment method with the research design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The number of subjects in this study were 18 students. Data were collected using 25 multiple choice items used for pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed through normality test, t test and N-gain using SPSS version 21 for windows. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest score (39.7) and posttest score (74.4) (p<0.05) with the N-gain value obtained was 0.56. This means that there is an increase in the medium category in students' concept mastery through RADEC learning.

Abstract

Student worksheets are needed to support the learning process that improves student's scientific literacy ability. This study aims to determine the feasibility of student worksheets with science literacy oriented on hydrolysis matter by utilizing surrounding materials as an alternative practicum activity in pandemic era. Research design was used the 4-D model limited to the developing stage with nine students of senior High School as research subjects. The student worksheet's feasibility is viewed from three aspects: validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The student worksheets that developed is feasible if it gets ≥ 61% on the validity and practicality aspects and the N-gain is ≥ 0.3 for the effectiveness aspect. In the validity aspect, the score was 97.20% and 97.00% for the content and construct validity criteria, on very good category. Practicality is viewed from the student response questionnaire results that get an average percentage of 97% and it’s supported by the results of student’s activity observations that get an average percentage of 92.84% on very practical category. The effectiveness aspect in improving science literacy ability indicated by the N-gain score average of 0.88, which is in the high category. Thus the student worksheets developed is feasible for use in the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between school organisational silence and teachers’ job commitment and productivity. Two hypotheses (tested at 0.05 level of significance) were formulated to guide the study. With the study’s foundation anchored on correlational and descriptive research designs, its population comprised all teachers. The sample size was 300 teachers. Analysis was carried out using inferential statistics. The data of the study were obtained by questionnaire. Pearsons Product Moment Correlation Analysis was used to test the two hypotheses. Findings indicate that a positive and non-significant relationship existed between school organisational silence and teachers’ job commitment in Lagos State Education District I (r = -0.035, ρ>0.05) and the study also found that there was a negative and non-significant relationship between school organisational silence and teachers’ productivity in Lagos State Education District I (r = 0.770, ρ>0.05). It is concluded that organisational silence is present in Lagos State Education District I senior secondary schools, as evidenced in the study. The study therefore recommended that school leaders/managers should always engaging school teachers in communication and entering them into discussions and decisions in order to reduce silence in the organisation of the school, so as to enhance teachers’ job commitment.
