Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in implementing Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and its role in fostering students’ independent learning at SDN 10 Limboto. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of the principal, classroom teacher, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that teachers implement PjBL through several stages, including defining driving questions, project planning, scheduling, project implementation, monitoring and guidance, presentation, and evaluation and reflection. Each stage contributes to the development of students’ independent learning, as reflected in increased initiative, responsibility, time management skills, and self-confidence in completing project tasks. However, the effectiveness of PjBL is strongly influenced by the teacher’s role as a facilitator, particularly in providing appropriate and gradual scaffolding. Therefore, the proper implementation of PjBL strategies can serve as an effective approach to enhance students’ independent learning in primary education.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the role of teachers in developing students’ social skills at SDN 1 Limboto. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of the principal, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade teachers, as well as students at SDN 1 Limboto. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation, while data analysis referred to the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that teachers play a significant role in developing students’ social skills through role modeling in communication, collaborative learning, positive emotional relationship building, positive reinforcement, and conflict mediation among students. These strategies helped students improve communication skills, cooperation, empathy, tolerance, and constructive conflict resolution. Furthermore, teachers functioned not only as knowledge transmitters but also as social facilitators and emotional mentors in students’ character development. The study indicates that social skills development should be continuously integrated into the learning process and school culture to support character building and students’ social competencies at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the e-commerce industry requires mobile applications to provide intuitive interfaces that support efficient and satisfying user interactions. Shopee, one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Indonesia, continues to receive user complaints regarding visual density, complex navigation, and excessive interface elements that may increase users' cognitive load. This study aims to evaluate the usability of the Shopee mobile application by employing a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative data were collected using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire administered to 150 respondents, while qualitative insights were obtained through the Concurrent Think-Aloud (CTA) method involving 10 participants performing representative shopping tasks. The findings reveal an average SUS score of 73.18, indicating a Good usability rating with an Acceptable level of user acceptance. The relatively favorable score is strongly influenced by users' familiarity with the platform, reflecting learned behavior developed through repeated use. However, the qualitative findings identified several usability issues, including the absence of a search feature on the shopping cart page, visual distractions caused by autoplay mechanisms, inconsistent navigation flow, and a suboptimal hierarchy of product information. Based on these findings, this study recommends redesigning the interface hierarchy, minimizing unnecessary visual clutter, introducing contextual search functionality, and simplifying navigation to improve interaction efficiency and overall user experience.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the Marine and Fisheries Business Actor Card Program (KUSUKA) for fishermen in North Banggai District, Banggai Laut Regency, and to identify the factors influencing its implementation. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research focus referred to Budiani’s (2009) program effectiveness theory, which includes target accuracy, program socialization, achievement of program objectives, as well as program monitoring and evaluation. Data collection techniques consisted of interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the KUSUKA Program in North Banggai District was fairly effective but not yet fully optimal. The targeting accuracy of the program was in accordance with the established criteria; however, the coverage of beneficiaries remained low. Program socialization had been carried out, yet the community’s understanding of the program mechanisms was still limited. The KUSUKA Program also provided benefits in the form of access to government assistance and protection for fishermen, although the distribution of benefits was not evenly distributed. In addition, program monitoring and evaluation activities were still constrained by limited human resources and operational budgets. Therefore, the effectiveness of the KUSUKA Program still requires improvement, particularly in terms of program coverage, socialization, and monitoring implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of learning contracts at Muhammadiyah 1 Limboto Elementary School and their role in improving students’ learning discipline. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of the principal, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade homeroom teachers, as well as students from grades IV, V, and VI of Muhammadiyah 1 Limboto Elementary School. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that learning contracts were developed collaboratively through agreements between teachers and students at the beginning of the learning process. The contracts contained classroom rules, rights and responsibilities, as well as consequences that had to be followed during learning activities. The implementation of learning contracts provided clear expectations regarding student behavior and helped students understand their responsibilities in the learning process. Furthermore, learning contracts contributed to the improvement of students’ learning discipline, as reflected in their compliance with classroom rules, punctuality in completing assignments, increased attention during lessons, and reduced disruptive behavior. Therefore, the implementation of learning contracts can serve as an effective strategy for fostering discipline, strengthening students’ character development, and creating an orderly and conducive learning environment in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the shared reading method in improving reading comprehension among second-grade students in Indonesian language learning at SDN 13 Telaga Biru and to describe changes in students’ participation and responses during the learning process. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of the second-grade teacher and second-grade students of SDN 13 Telaga Biru. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that prior to the implementation of the shared reading method, the learning process was predominantly teacher-centered, resulting in low student participation and difficulties in understanding reading texts. After the shared reading method was implemented through modeling, choral reading, discussion, and reflection activities, students demonstrated significant improvement in comprehending reading materials, identifying key information, and answering questions related to the texts. In addition, students became more active, enthusiastic, and confident during classroom activities. The shared reading method also created a more interactive, collaborative, and enjoyable learning environment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the shared reading method is effective in improving reading comprehension among elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the manifestation of gaslighting behavior as a form of psychological violence within the South Korean mystery-thriller drama The Art of Sarah (2026). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study employs Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic triangle meaning model comprising sign, object, and interpretant to investigate how the drama visualizes systematic psychological manipulation. Data were collected through systematic observation of the series, focusing on the main character, Sarah Kim, and her manipulative interactions with other characters. The findings reveal that gaslighting in The Art of Sarah is not merely an interpersonal conflict but a structured instrument of structural aggression used to exploit social vulnerabilities and achieve status. The manipulation is executed through visual aggression, symbolic guilt tripping, and the distortion of the victim's epistemic authority. Furthermore, this study demonstrates how The Art of Sarah serves as a form of counter-visuality, exposing the ideological construction behind the perpetrator’s false narrative. The study concludes that gaslighting has evolved into a strategic methodology for social mobility, necessitating enhanced public visual literacy to recognize and prevent non-physical criminal acts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and hedonic lifestyle on the purchasing decisions of Generation Z consumers of KFC in Gorontalo City. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method, and the data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The research sample consisted of Generation Z consumers who had purchased KFC products. Hypothesis testing was conducted through multiple linear regression analysis to examine both partial and simultaneous effects among the variables. The findings reveal that eWOM has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. This indicates that favorable online reviews, recommendations, and digital information enhance consumer confidence and increase their likelihood of purchasing KFC products. Furthermore, hedonic lifestyle was also found to have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, suggesting that the pursuit of pleasure, social experiences, and trend-following behavior plays an important role in shaping consumption patterns among Generation Z consumers. Simultaneously, eWOM and hedonic lifestyle exert a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions, accounting for 55.4% of the variance in consumer purchasing decisions. These findings provide empirical evidence that successful marketing strategies targeting Generation Z depend not only on product quality but also on effective digital communication and a comprehensive understanding of consumers’ lifestyle characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of discounts and Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on consumers' purchasing decisions for fashion products on the TikTok application in Gorontalo City. The rapid growth of social commerce through TikTok has transformed consumer behavior, making purchasing decisions increasingly influenced by both economic incentives and psychological factors. This research employed a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to TikTok users who had previously purchased fashion products through the platform. The sample size was determined using the Lemeshow formula, and respondents were selected through a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a total of 96 participants. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to assess the individual and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on purchasing decisions. The findings reveal that discounts have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, indicating that price reductions encourage consumers to make purchases. Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) was also found to have a positive and significant influence, suggesting that consumers tend to purchase products due to concerns about missing trends, promotions, or opportunities available on TikTok. Furthermore, discounts and FOMO simultaneously exert a significant influence on purchasing decisions. These findings indicate that consumer purchasing behavior is shaped not only by rational economic considerations but also by emotional and social motivations in the digital marketplace.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the prophetic leadership of the foundation chairman in strengthening the culture of Al-Huda Islamic School in Gorontalo, including the implementation of prophetic values, internalization strategies, governance reinforcement, and supporting and inhibiting factors. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data are collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and their trustworthiness is established through source and method triangulation and prolonged observation. he results show that the value of siddiq is manifested through integrity, transparency, and consistency in decision-making. The value of amanah is reflected in responsibility, discipline, and direct involvement in carrying out duties. The value of tabligh is evident in courteous, educational, and participatory communication. The value of fathanah is manifested through analytical and adaptive abilities, as well as strategic decision-making in foundation management The reinforcement of foundation governance based on prophetic values is demonstrated through information transparency, direct supervision and mentoring. participatory communication, and competency-based human resource management Habituation strategies are carried out through the internalization of values in daily activities, leadership role modeling, the cultivation of honesty, discipline, open communication, and continuous self-development Supporting factors include the commitment of madrasah members, synergy among stakeholders, a culture of openness, collective concern, and the quality of human resources that balance general knowledge and religious knowledge Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include differences in individual characteristics, low intrinsic motivation, tendencies toward egocentrism in communication, and apathetic attitudes toward the implementation of prophetic values.
