Abstract

The use of pomade for a long time will cause hair damage. Pomade with preferred ingredients, because it is very good for beauty and hair health. Liquid oil is one of the basic ingredients used in making pomade. Candlenut oil can be used as liquid oil for the pomade base. This article examines the formulation and physical properties of pomade from candlenut oil. There are four formulas that have been made with different F0 candlenut oils without candlenut oil, F1 with 10% candlenut oil, F2 with 20% candlenut oil, F3 with 30% candlenut oil. The difference in concentration is indicated to affect the physical differences of the candlenut oil pomade. Physical properties of Candlenut Oil Pomade gel include organoleptic, homogeneity, scattering test, sticky test. The results showed that all formulas showed homogeneous gel preparations. Formula 3, with the highest concentration of candlenut oil concentration of 30%, shows a greater dispersion than a formula with other substances reaching 6.5 cm and meets SNI standards, which will increase the adhesion, which does not meet the standard.

Abstract

Satisfaction was an indicator to assess the quality of counseling services by pharmacists in pharmacies. Willingness to Pay (WTP) was an approach that can be used to measure the indirect benefits of a program. Satisfaction and WTP have a positive correlation. The increasing level of consumer satisfaction caused an increase in the value of WTP. The purpose of this study was to measure the satisfaction and WTP value of counseling services by pharmacists and the relationship between them. Non-experimental research with cross sectional design was conducted on 100 patients who visited the pharmacy and received counseling services by the pharmacist. Satisfaction was measured based on 4 dimensions, namely: tangible, reliability, assurance, and empathy. WTP value was determined using the payment card method. The relationship between the two variables was analyzed by the Pearson correlation (p-value <0.05). The results showed that the level of satisfaction and WTP of counseling services by pharmacists in the Surakarta city pharmacy was 0.93 and Rp 20,652 and there was no relationship between them (Sig. = 0.422). The high level of satisfaction showed that the quality of service was also good. However, it did not affect respondents to pay for counseling services by pharmacists in the Surakarta city area pharmacy with a relatively higher value when compared to other professions

Abstract

Antibiotics are examples of drugs that are often used incorrectly. Such misuse is often influenced by the lack of knowledge and attitudes towards the use of antibiotics, so in this study we want to know what sociodemographic factors have an influence on knowledge and attitude on antibiotic use in rural communities at Cempaka Banjarbaru District, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. This type of research is descriptive analytic with a sampling technique that is proportional stratified random sampling using a questionnaire. There are 380 respondents taken as a sample. Analysis data used is univariate and bivariate with chi-square test. The result of public knowledge research on the use of antibiotics included in the good category that is 58.2 % and attitudes included in the positive category that is 98.4 %. Statistical test results show that there is a significant influence between sociodemographic factors of recent education and income on the level of knowledge, while sociodemographic factors of age, sex and occupation on the level of knowledge have no significant effect. On the results of statistical tests sociodemographic factors (age, sex, occupation, last education and income) on attitudes do not have a significant effect.

Abstract

Antioxidants in the form of total flavonoids are compounds that can stabilize freeradicals. The mechanism of antioxidants in stabilizing free radicals is give the lackelectron of free radicals and inhibit the formation of free radical formation thatcan damage the body. DPPH method is used to determine the activity of capturingfree radicals of ethanol extracts of Amaranthus tricolor L. red giti and green giti.As a positive control quercetin is used. The results showed that the total amount offlavonoids in red giti spinach was (5.615±0.114)% EK and green giti spinach was(4.468±0.166)% EK. The results also show that all groups have activity as freeradical scavengers. The value of ES 50 for positive control quercetin, red gitispinach extract, and green giti spinach extract are (1.375±0.085)µg/ml,(186.198±0.363)µg/ml, and (209.392± 0.607)µg/ml respectively. Based on ES 50values It can be concluded that antioxidant activity of red giti spinach extract andgreen giti spinach extract are significantly different from the positive controlquercetin. Antioxidant activity of quercetin is categorized strong antioxidantactivity, while the antioxidant activity of red giti spinach extract and green gitispinach extract is categorized as weak antioxidant activity.

Abstract

The phenomenon of off-label drug use has been widely observed in the pediatric population, including in Indonesia. The major concern arising from the prevalence of off-label drug use is the increased risk of adverse drug reactions. We performed a systematic review to describe and provide insight into off-label pediatric drug use in Indonesia. The articles published using English and Indonesian language was systematically searched in five electronic databases, including Pubmed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Garuda, and Neliti. Key terms used for the search were as follows: "off-label use", "off-label”,"child", "pediatrics", "infant","adolescent", "newborn", "Indonesia". A total of one hundred sixteen studies were initially obtained from an electronic database. Further, after the references were reviewed, ten articles met all the eligibility criteria that were finally selected. The percentage of off-label pediatric drug use was 32.6-89.9%. The off-label categories in the selected studies were age, dosage, contraindication, route of administration, and indication. Among these off-label categories, age was the highest off-label with percentages ranged from 19.8 to 92.9%. Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and triamcinolone acetonide became the most frequently used drug in that category. Thus we conclude that off-label pediatric drug use is common in Indonesia. Future research should consider the safety of off-label drugs in pediatric, primarily in Indonesia. Clinicians should be aware of off-label drugs in pediatrics and consider the risk-benefit of the drugs when prescribing to children. The authorities need to regulate off-label drug prescribing in pediatrics; therefore, it could improve medication safety and quality.
