Abstract

This research aims to find out whether the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve Science Learning Results for Class VIII UPTD SMP Negri 2 Socah. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this research were 15 students in class VIII UPTD of SMP Negri 2 Socah, Bangkalan Regency in the odd semester 2024/2025. Data obtained came from student learning results sheets and pretest and posttest questionnaire results sheets. This research uses the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model which is applied in 2 cycles. In cycle I it shows the lowest value of 15 and the highest value of 50. Furthermore, in cycle II it shows the lowest value of 75 and the highest value of 100. Classical completion in cycle I is 50% and in cycle II there is an increase of 100%. The results of this research are that through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) it can improve science learning outcomes in Class VIII UPTD SMP Negri 2 Socah. Based on the results of this research, researchers suggest that the problem based learning model can be used to improve student learning outcomes. Keywords: Learning Outcomes; Science; Problem Based Learning

Abstract

This study aims to produce a digital learning media in the form of a WEB-based Physics E-Encyclopedia that is feasible in terms of construct and content. The digital learning media developed in this study is a WEB-based Physics E-Encyclopedia application that contains sound wave material integrated with local wisdom. Local wisdom integrated into the principles of physics is traditional musical instruments originating from several regions in Indonesia. This study uses a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The feasibility of the Physics E-Encyclopedia is measured by product validity based on the Aiken's V index. The results of the study indicate that the WEB-based Physics E-Encyclopedia containing sound wave material is feasible in terms of construct and content.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of the Biology practicum e-module at SMAN 16 in improving student learning outcomes. With the rapid development of information technology, e-modules are expected to facilitate the learning process, especially in practicum materials that are often hampered by limited equipment and time. This study adopted an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample involved eleventh-grade students who were divided into two groups: an experimental group that utilized the e-module and a control group that used a conventional practicum module. Data were collected through learning outcome tests (before and after the practicum) and observations of the learning process. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test to compare the learning outcomes of the two groups. The results showed that the use of the Biology practicum e-module significantly improved student learning outcomes compared to the conventional module. The e-module was proven to provide easy access, increase interactivity, and deepen students' understanding of the practicum material. Student responses to the e-module were also very positive, with an overall feasibility rate reaching 91.76%, where the ease of use aspect was highly appreciated. Thus, this e-module can be used as an effective learning alternative to support Biology subjects in secondary schools, while also encouraging student independence and motivation in the digital age.

Abstract

Plant growth and development is one of the topics included in the current Indonesian education curriculum for Grade XII in senior high schools, and it is also known to be one of the challenging and difficult topics for students to understand. At present, there is no available learning media that adequately supports teachers in explaining this material optimally. Additionally, the time allocated for laboratory practicum activities is minimal. One of the media that can visualize the process of plant growth and development in a short amount of time is an interactive PowerPoint multimedia on the growth and development of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L..) through a floating raft hydroponic system. This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of using interactive PowerPoint multimedia in teaching the topic of plant growth and development to Grade XII students in senior high school. The research was carried out in two stages. The first stage involved observing lettuce growth and development, conducted at Greenhouse Orchid Center in Pontianak. The second stage involved evaluating the effectiveness of the interactive PowerPoint multimedia by biology teachers from 12 senior high schools in Pontianak, using a closed questionnaire comprising seven criteria and 20 questions. The evaluation results showed that the interactive PowerPoint multimedia was highly effective (87.25%) and met all the predetermined criteria. Keywords: effectiveness, interactive powerpoint multimedia, growth, development, floating hydroponics, Lactuca sativa L..

Abstract

This study aims to determine how students' learning interests are after implementing the guided discovery learning model. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study with a population of class X and a sample size of 29 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using non-tests with research instruments being questionnaires, observations and interviews. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Checking the validity of the data in this study was carried out using technical triangulation. The results showed that students were very interested in all indicators of interest (attention, feelings of pleasure, interest, involvement) using the Guided Discovery Learning model on the material of work and energy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the quality of the Projectile Motion Problem Video–Interview Guide (PMPV-IG) developed in the mother tongue, focusing on aspects of validity and reliability. The PMPV-IG was designed to explore students’ problem-solving abilities in the concept of projectile motion within sports-related activities. Fifteen eleventh-grade students whose mother tongue is the Ketapang Malay Dialect (BMDK) were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The PMPV-IG was constructed based on the five problem-solving stages proposed by Heller’s theory: visualizing the problem, describing the problem in terms of physics, planning a solution, executing the problem-solving plan, and evaluating the solution. Its validity covered three aspects: content validity of the use of the Ketapang Malay Dialect, content validity regarding the alignment between indicators and essential questions, and construct validity. The construct validity was assessed using Aiken’s V formula, while the reliability of the PMPV-IG items was measured using Cronbach’s Alpha formula. The evaluation was conducted by two language experts and three physics experts. The findings indicate that the PMPV-IG achieved a very high level of validity, with an average score of 0.875, and demonstrated high reliability with an alpha value of 0.81. Therefore, the PMPV-IG is deemed valid and reliable, making it suitable for exploring students’ problem-solving abilities in the concept of projectile motion.
